  2. Another one going 48 volt and probably getting there before Mercedes... Liters per 100 KM feels weird to us Americans. For reference, 10 liters per 100km = 28 mpg.... lower liters is better. Dropping the fuel usage 0.3 liters / 100km in the range the Golf would be playing in is roughly an increase of 2 mpg. Because of the nature of how MPG works, the conversion rate is not consistent.

  3. Just saw a sharp gray-green w/ black top '72 Pontiac Grand Ville 2dr ht. Very clean and shiny, w/ Pontiac mags. Right next to it at the light was a bright red w/ black wheels, black stripes C7 Z06.

  5. Yeah, pretty amazing how trim levels and bumpers and wheels, etc can change the appearance. Like comparing a base Grand Cherokee Laredo with a Trailhawk, Summit, or Trackhawk. 4 different trim levels, all with distinctly different appearances...

  6. CRAAAAZY how a car can look very similar and not the exact same because you change the bumpers and wheels. Does a Focus RS look exactly like a Focus SE? ? Or perhaps it looks "very similar".

  7. Oh God- look at Jersey's numbers. Revenue per capita... why am I still here??

  8. Hopefully we won't have to worry about California sullying the works for too much longer, they will be a rogue nation.

  10. HRV and Everus remind me of what Honda also did with the Civic and the new Insight.

  11. Re-reading through that story, I got the indication that it would be part of mid-cycle refresh or something.

  12. I don't understand why Genesis would not offer Apple Car Play or Android Auto when Kia UVO and Hyundai BlueLink both come with it. I've been seeing a lot of G80s and G90s around here. The do catch the eye... they have presence on the road.

  13. They seem pretty nice, kind of like how a modern Buick could be...without the styling issues that arise from FWD. There is definitely a place for 'soft luxury' cars--where comfort and amenities are the top concern-- not everything should be measured by Nurburgring track times.

  14. New ways to make an old technology viable for the future is not "living in the past". Keeping the old technology around just because and ignoring the consequences of that technology would be living in the past.

  15. Probably sitting in your EV Camaro SUV.. Hasn't Ford hinted at a Mach 1 branded EV CUV? I hate that they're using that name for a CUV and not a Mustang trim.

  16. I don't think it is living with the past just because the fuel source is old. The technology is brand spanking new on gas and diesel. I don't think it means people are living in the past just because they want liquid fuel. Until you have an EV, you're living in the past just as much as ocn and the rest of us. More so handing big oil even more.

  17. 'Very similar'? It's literally the same vehicle with a different front bumper.

  18. Looks way better than this even if it is very similar.

  19. Christy raised gas tax by 23 cent for a gallon. So despite high taxes we at least used to have cheap gas. Now not only we have one of the highest taxes in the US but also one of the highest gas prices as well. Christy made a compromise with democrats that at least they will lower sales tax to compensate for a gas tax, and now our wonderful new governor wants to roll back the sales tax while of course keeping the gas tax hike in place. Got to love politicians ...

  22. I have to agree, not sure what specifically it is, but this is the first honda I have actually ever liked other than my Honda Boat motor. That little 10HP motor is awesome.

  26. Given Ford's announcement yesterday, these definitely seem more likely down the road. It wouldn't surprise me if GM re-thinks the mid engine Corvette idea and instead focuses on a Corvette CUV. Strange days...

  27. So what? It works. It's reliable. It's cost effective. It performs excellently both in acceleration and MPG. It is incredibly smooth. I don't care if it was designed 1979. You simply want change for change sake. If I buy a 2019 ES, I'm not getting a 10 year old V6.... I'm getting a new V6 that was built just a few months ago. Does it perform the way I want? Yes? Good! Sold. You care about things that no one else who actually buys cars actually cares about.

  29. Got to drive the aforementioned '68 Catalina convertible about 5 miles today. Front end was a little squirrely- needs some bushing replacement IMO, but the 2bbl 400 easily spun the tires from the stoplight. Nice, wide & floaty. :)

  30. '71 LeMans sedan, light green, with dark green vinyl top. Sadly, the sedans (and B-bodies) get sacrificed to save the A-body coupes, so I felt a little special seeing it intact.

  31. An oldie but a goodie: A software engineer, a hardware designer and Bill Gates are driving in car on the freeway. Suddenly the car breaks down, the engine stops. The software engineer says: “I think that car ran out if gas. Let’s walk to the nearest gas station and get some gas, put it in the car and then it will start again.” The hardware designer says: “I think the muffler broke off, let’s fix it and then we can go on. “ Bill Gates says: “I’m not sure what the problem is but let’s close all the windows, and then try restarting.”

  33. Seems Bosch is trying to sell a new Snake oil potion that requires no new hardware but reduces Diesel to below the new 2020 standards on emissions for Europe. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/04/25/bosch-diesel-emissions-breakthrough/ I really hope auto companies ignore this and move forward with the superior Hybrid / EV quiet auto's.
