It's a good read about a pretty short road trip that sounds very inconveniently planned due to their ride being an EV. http://www.motortrend.com/cars/chevrolet/bolt-ev/2017/2017-chevrolet-bolt-ev-review-long-term-update-7/ I know @ocnblu will appreciate this. ?1 point

Yeah it's a hard pass on full EVs for awhile yet. And this is an infrastructure in CALIFORNIA which probably has the most EVs on their roads!1 point

I fully expect a 3-row from Jeep... but making it a vanilla crossover with no off-road capability isn't the way to go about it.1 point

Exactly! There just seem to be way more sacrifices than there should be in a $40,000 vehicle.1 point

Interesting read... too much drama and range anxiety for a simple road trip. Electric vehicles and charging infrastructure still have a ways to go to beat the simplicity of ICE reality...I take off on a drive, knowing there are gas stations everywhere, it takes 5 min at most to fill up, and I have a 25 gallon tank and get 20 mpg, nothing to stress over...1 point

The rest of the line is, but the GLE/GLS came out in 2011 or 2012, they are by far the oldest things in Merc's line up, the GLE still uses the 3.5 V6 that the E-class dumped 2-3 years ago and they are also to heavy. They are moving to an all new platform.1 point

Bentley sold about 2400 vehicles in 2017. EVs/ plug-ins are about 1% of the market. 1% of 2400 is 24 units, or 2/mnth. No one is crying over a lack of Bentley EVs. That aside, a car in this price tier should be offering 500 miles on E power, or literally don't bother.1 point

All of FCA is down except Alfa which is up 40,000 percent! FCA overall is up, almost entirely because of Fiat! There you go, kill everything except Jeep Ram and Fiat!1 point

Instead of these car companies worrying about how to have nicer showrooms or facilities why don’t they worry about figuring a way for people to buy a car in less than 5 hours? And as far as service goes for Genesis, just have a drop off location, give people a loaner car for the day and call/text them when their car is done and they come pick it up. That is no brainer then what the service area looks like doesn’t matter. These car companies over think things.1 point

They need that new GLE/GLS soon, the age is showing on those two. C-class has a refresh coming this summer, so I don't think much cause for worry there.1 point

All Ford's SUVs are down. Now that they have given up on cars, they better hope those SUVs sell because down 16%, down 19% for the 2 hottest segments in Flex and Edge is pretty bad.1 point
