  1. 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L Plus And I am super excited about it. It almost makes me sad that it is my wife's vehicle. For the life of me I have no idea why these things have such a bad reputation amongst the general public. They do everything a CUV does but better, with the possible exception of towing and that even depends on which CUV you are comparing it to. I personally think this thing is kick ass. I just wish GM would rejoin the market and make a stylish minivan. A Buick minivan would be good. Maybe make a little more stylish version of the GL8 they sell in China?

  3. You know what, these drive so nice.... and they finally made a mini-van that actually looks good. This is really the best crossover alternative out there that can still do all the hauling a crossover can do and more. I know @ocnblu would make fun of me for it, but I'd get the plug-in version... if only because it adds a bunch more scoot to the pentastar.

  5. The M-B equivalent of the M5 would be the AMG variant of the E-class, as it's always been, not the GT...

  6. It's funny you say that about the hybrid. My wife is the primary driver of this and she only has a 5 mile commute to work. We STRONGLY considered the hybrid. There are no deals to be had, though. Yes, the $7500 back from the government but dealers are giving hardly any extra markdown and there are no rebates. The lease deals are horrible. We were originally going to wait until fall to see if they would blow out the MY18 hybrids that they didn't try too hard to sell/lease during the model year but got a good enough deal on this gas powered one to pull the trigger now. One thing they need to fix if they want to sell/lease the hybrid to your average Joe, the dealerships need to keep one charged up for test drives. We didn't try too many dealerships but none of the ones we did try kept one charged. It would be nice to know how they drive on pure electricity if that is how you are going to be driving it 95% of the time. No need to be sorry! These things are awesome. You are the one missing out. ?

  7. What's California's population compared to the rest of the US? Sounds about right.. California is 12% of the us population so all we need is probably Oregon and Washington and that'd cover the 20% that want to buy EVs. Okay... That's only about 15.7% of the population still..

  8. okay, I'm still not sure why everyone is surprised by this. The ATS dies just like the SRX died.... because it got a new name. A new car will slot in to replace ATS with a new name.

  9. I'd like to know their EV projection for the US market.

  10. I want to buy one, but they don't make one I both like and can afford and has the amenities I want. I'd buy an EV Lacrosse with a 250 mile range.. While not pure EV, both the S90 and CT6 plug ins would be high on my list had I the funds.

  11. Well as you so often point out, 2 inches is like a whole different size class if Cadillac is wearing them. If the AMG GT is 2 inches longer than an E class, it is a total failure and no one will buy it. Back to the M5 and it's actual competition.

  12. I posted a link/pics of that Curtis I think late last year. Even back at the dawn, trucks were generally far more robustly engineered than cars, it seems.

  13. I really don't think I have range anxiety... but I have charger location anxiety. I still think a plug-in hybrid is the way to go, but if it is a two vehicle family, a pure EV as a second car would be fine.

  14. Is there ANY possible way for you to make a valid comparison without blatant attempts to stack the deck towards the brand you're just a fanboi of? The AMG GT Sedan is a larger car and will be priced an entire CLA more. It will compete with the M6 and Audi RS7.

  15. Not a pretty car but it seems to do its intended job quite well.

  16. It's not you... it's the people out there who are like "ZOMG! ATS DIEING!!!11!!". Even without Cadillac's sedan shakeup, the ATS was dying and being replaced by a new name.

  17. I'm not surprised by this news... Its more the fact of that we finally got confirmation and can move on to something else, like complaining about the upcoming XT6 or whatever it will be called. Yes. CT5 will take the place of ATS, CTS, and XTS.

  18. People now as distracted as ever, people always driving bad and not paying attention. I think it is simple physics and statistics issue: much more cars in general on the road and substantially higher percentage of these cars are bigger, heavier and taller SUVs/CUVs. I do agree though that pedestrians became much more distracted due to the smartphones.

  20. Isn't it dependent on the situation? A pedestrian can't sprint across any road at any time and expect to be able to go after the driver who hits them. If there is a crosswalk light and you walk through while it is red that is a ticket for the pedestrian and I would assume if they got hit they couldn't go after the driver(unless it was something weird where it was clearly intentional and no effort to stop or avoid).

  21. Sorry to hear about you almost getting hit! I agree, it's probably 95% because of everyone being on phones... How the world has changed... I agree with you that it is both the responsibility of the driver and the pedestrian to be aware of their surroundings - but by law - the person walking (and I believe riding a bike) always has the right of way at the end of that day. Perhaps that's changed since I originally learned that... When all is said and done, people driving need to pay attention to the road. Being on Facebook at the same time as driving - you might as well have a car racing video game displaying on your windshield with your vehicle's steering wheel working for both real drive and the game - simultaneously...

  22. If you're trying to excite me, you're doing it. Cadillac hatchback = ?

  23. Would have to disagree with you, it is BOTH persons responsibility. Today, there are many people who ignore the signals and just walk out into the crosswalks. Lucky for me, Seattle has so many cameras that they record 24/7 the cross walks and who has the right of way. If someone walked out in front of me when I have a green light, I will expect them to pay for any damages / repairs. We have already had these issues in the city with not just pedestrians but also bike riders who jump up on the sidewalk out of the bike lane to cross and then hit cars. Here I would sue a pedestrian or bike rider if they hit me by going against the lights when I had the Green. Hold everyone equally responsible.

  24. Yeah isn't there supposed to be like a CT5 that will cover the CTS and ATS? Aren't they kind of going back to the tweener size like the original CTS?

  25. The last generation Cadillac SRX had the right idea of putting a cow catcher on the front.

  26. He means that those are the causes for pedestrian incidents... though I'm not sure who is more guilty of using them when they shouldn't be... pedestrians or drivers.

  27. That's what happens when you're motivated by revenge and want to punish someone (in this case the prior administration and California respectively)

  31. For the 2018 Model Year, Chevy gave the Tahoe an RST package for some extra sporting pizzazz and more recently introduced the RST Performance package on the Suburban. The RST removed chrome, blacked out grilles, and added custom wheels. Upgrading to the performance package brought on the 6.2 liter V8, 10-Speed automatic transmission, and GM's Magnetic Ride Control. At GMC, the only way to get those performance upgrades was to first check the box on the order form that said "Denali". One of our intrepid readers lurking around the GM Fleet Order Guide (Hat-tip: @ocnblu) found that GMC is planning to offer a virtually identical set of packages on the Yukon for 2019. Named Graphite and Graphite Performance Package, these packages should add a bit bolder look to the otherwise conservative Yukon. Like the Tahoe/Suburban RST, the GMC Yukon Graphite Edition removes most, if not all, of the bright chrome accents typically found on a Yukon. In their place are a black chrome mesh grille insert, black chrome fog lamp surround, body color grille surround, gloss black belt line moldings, and the Z85 Suspension package with air leveling. Special, package specific 22" bright machined wheels with Carbon Flash Metallic pockets and gloss black side assist steps are added. The Graphite Performance Edition adds to that with the 6.2 liter V8, 10-speed automatic, 3.23 rear axle, Magnetic Ride Control, upgraded 8" driver information center, heads up display, 8" infotainment system with navigation, trailer brake controller, upgraded alternator, unique performance edition 22" 6-spoke wheels, and on four-wheel drive models a 2-speed active transfer case. Not mentioned in the GMC order guide is the sport suspension calibration mentioned in the Tahoe RST guide, but that could simply be an order guide oversight. Both Graphite Editions will come wearing P285/45R22 tires and will only be available for selection on SLT equipped Yukons. The Yukon Graphite will be available in only three colors - White Frost Tricoat, Onyx Black, or Dark Sky Metallic. No official picture or release of the 2019 GMC Yukon Graphite Edition has been made by GMC yet, but expect something in the coming weeks. (2016 GMC Yukon SLT Pictured)

  35. As far as pricing.... expect a the price of an SLT ($57k) plus $2600~ for the Graphite package and an additional $2700 for the performance package. @dfelt

  36. Congrats on the Volt purchase! Been thinking about one of these (or a new one) to replace the 200, likely in the fall. Free electricity at work is a nice incentive. It's 25 miles each way so chances of doing it only on company provided electricity are not so good, even with a new one, though.

  37. Picked this beast up close to the end of the month. Got a great deal on it. Dealer sold it to me for $250 over employee pricing so I can't complain. 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L Plus with the S package.

  39. They seem pretty nice, kind of like how a modern Buick could be...without the styling issues that arise from FWD. There is definitely a place for 'soft luxury' cars--where comfort and amenities are the top concern-- not everything should be measured by Nurburgring track times.

  41. That is a very nice long press release but an AMG GT sedan is more powerful and faster than this thing and can beat it round the Nürburgring.
