  1. @dfelt I am on board with Cadillac returning to names. As a result of the letters and numbers, I no longer know what's what. As for the name Calais, it was on a Cadillac product at one time before Oldsmobile picked it up as a type of Cutlass ... and as a stand-alone name plate. French names and Cadillac go hand in hand. Cadillac is a French word. It's even one of the stops on the Montreal Metro's green line!

  2. Its a French sir name. Cadillac is a street name, and the Metro station is on that street and so the Metro station takes the name of the street its on. https://www.google.com/maps/@45.5768388,-73.5466271,3a,39.8y,65.5h,88.64t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sBqKV-qH-HXp0f4krtejSLQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 My 99 soon to be 100 year old auntie lives near this Metro station. In fact her old apartment and her new old age home is a mere 5 minute walk from there. Further east on Sherbrooke Street, there is a McDonald's. That would be the first McDonald's Iv ever been to waaaay back when I was 5 or 6 years old. A little later, a Burger King opened up. And you guessed it...that would be the first Burger King Ive ever been to. Both are still there. A St. Hubert BBQ rotisserie chicken restaurant is a tad closer. My family would eat there too often enough. The Olympic Stadium is further WEST on Sherbrooke street. Yes. The Montreal Expos would play there. And yes...I would go see them play often as I lived close by. On Ste Catherine Street. Yes...The same Ste Catherine Street that is the heart of Downtown Montreal. Pie-IX Metro station is where the Olympic Stadium is. In Between Cadillac Metro and Pie-IX Metro would be Viau Metro station. And those are the streets that those Metro Stations are on. The Stadium would be between Pie-IX and Viau... When clicking on the link, turn the direction towards west, and not even advancing forward on anything and you would see the Olympic Village Appartments.

  3. Once the other luxury brands are producing a few electric sedans and CUV's each with similar or better range and performance, I don't see Tesla remaining an independent company.

  4. Actually, I would go as used for Hyundai and Kia. They loose value much more than Toyota or Honda but still have good reliability and warranty. And yet they still are noted as the most reliable brand by CR, JD Powers etc (i know #biased). Most other manufacturers became much better but Toyotas in general still seem to be above average.

  5. #1. Tesla is entirely stoppable, will never get going and fully profitable. #2. See #1. #3. No love for Ford...covered ad nausea previously. #4. Other car makers will bring out more desirable electrics. I love your rants... Absolutely. The pain is only starting for Tesla shareholders. Or sunk them... But they were smart enough not to follow through...

  6. Liking the 6.2L expansion and the Elevation package becoming available on the CC. $2500 for the diesel is an outstanding price- if I was actively buying, I'd put that engine on the top of my list.

  8. I think Apple would have run Tesla better than Elon has.

  9. DeMauro is a blackened, moldy jack o lantern rotting on the front porch in the burgeoning spring warmth of May. In other words; unappealing & worthless. Tesla is getting plenty of blowback for quality that's -at times- worse than anything GM or Ford ever produced. At least, I've never seen any report of a GM car with a cracking/splitting body structure (A-pillar). The bloom is mostly off the rose and sales have tanked HARD.

  10. I think the takeover appeal of Tesla goes up if they can elbow Elon out of the driver seat. Tesla has very good brand equity.

  11. @A Horse With No Name Not so sure Apple is that smart, they seemed to have missed the streaming thing, Apple products have not been innovative, Samsung has passed them up. Tim Cook seems to be more on status quo and just keep things consistent than innovating. I suspect Apple will fall back down to where they were in the early 2000's.

  12. If buying new, a hyundai or kia so they get the 100k warranty. If buying used, either a cruze (low cost of admission) or a corolla (good longevity)

  13. Frank Lloyd Wright hated clutter. In his opinion, if you had a garage door, you would be tempted to put stuff other than the car in the garage and then clutter up the place. If there is no door, you would be more inclined to keep the place neat since people would see it. Thus, he only ever put car ports in his designs and not garages. The theory extends into his houses which have very little amount of storage for their size. In rooms like bedrooms, he would put full built-in units for clothing so that people wouldn't use their own furniture and muck up his design.

  14. Not sure...I know Frank Lloyd Wright house designs either usually had carports or no garage at all, neither of which solution makes any sense in cold climates.

  15. Prolly go to my grave having never used any of them. I think I’ve been in 2-3 taxis & 1 limo. Plus the ‘64 Sedan de Ville I hired for my wedding ?
