Sometimes, one has to "just say no" to specials and coupons. I clipped a handful of Long John Silver coupons on threw them into the console. At midday, I was hungry and the light bulb went on. I used one. I got 2 pieces of fish, 2 sides, and 2 hush puppies. I then regretted it. I didn't get sick or anything. The food was just gross. I threw out the remaining clipped coupons. Perhaps that's why 5 years lapse between visits to LJS. Again, like Nancy Reagan once said, "just say no." The "Tour de Costco" is almost guaranteed to have a better outcome.3 points

Not even close. They are both fastback, coupe styled vehicles that have 4 doors. Both are grey in colour. The grilles are different. The Honda has a chrome bar that continues its course into the headlights. The KIA has a bumper-esque body coloured thing resembling a...bumper dividing the top half of the fascia from the bottom. The Honda has a conventional mouth/grille going on with no bumper/esque separation going on. The headlights are worlds apart from one another. Like I said, the Honda has that chrome bar designed into the headlights while sporting Acura's jeweled themed style while the KIA has just 2/3 lights. No chrome bar or chrome whatsoever in the front of the car... The side slabs of both vehicles are world's apart. The Honda is flat and the rake moves upward from the front to the back while the KIA looks to be more horizontally straight and has all kinds of creases while there are hip bulges on the rear wheels. The C Pillar is different. Two totally different direction stylings on the C Pillar. The mirrors are different. The Honda mirrors are attached to the body while the KIA's is not. Even the door handles are placed in very different locations of the doors because the doors are not even the same style and positioned in the same way. And if you look closer than what you wanted to do to justify your opinion, the KIA is a sleeker vehicle...it looks waaaaaaay newer than that Accord. That Accord pic you posted already looks dated... Now...other than having modern day computer engineered aerodynamic fastback silhouettes that makes ALL cars of the modern era to somewhat resemble each other, there are virtually NO similar design cues anywhere on both vehicles...2 points

Well, something needs to change...unions aren't what they used to be about...it's all about upper management GREED anymore, not the workers or the company employing them. https://video.foxbusiness.com/v/6101444253001/#sp=show-clips1 point

Good Lord somebody tell them to stay with a private workforce...wouldn't the recent GM UAW Strike be any kind of warning?! Wake up Workhorse Board of Directors!! https://www.autoblog.com/2019/11/11/new-lordstown-plant-owner-ev-truck-workforce-likely-to-be-unionized/?utm_source=spotim&utm_medium=spotim_recirculation&spotim_referrer=recirculation&spot_im_comment_id=sp_K1uZhoSA_2184869_c_OsS3iQ1 point

The shape is quite similar, similar to the Malibu also. All 6 window fastback midsize sedans w short rear decks. The differences are in the details. I kind of like what Hyundai and Kia have been doing lately on their new models w/ the lighting details and bright trim..the Sonata is very distinctive, and this car appears to be also..1 point

Forgot who it was here that was all about the Pontiacs, but this story is very cool along with the pictures of all these Pontiac's. https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/classic-cars/barn-find-large-collection-of-pontiac-firebirds-uncovered/ar-BBWEPgv?li=BBnb4R5 Including WTF is this as I have never seen this Pontiac.1 point

Honda is a big seller in the PNW so probably as you guys stated the over all general shape makes me thing Honda. I totally agree with @balthazar that these cars look like crap.1 point

Also Subaru seems to have kept to bland 2009'sh style for their sedans. Would be interesting to see total midsize sedan sales figures from 2004 vs 2019, maybe down by 50%?1 point

I've noticed that Hyundai/Kia copy every car and CUV out there and always have. Cues from Honda, Ford, Chevy, even Audi and MB with the Genesis line I think it's the G80 that has the MB look. Kia Telluride looks like a CT car with Cadillac signature vertical taillights in back and Hyundai Palisade front end has the similar Cadillac signature vertical LED light bars. Both awkward looking to me on the road. Even the name Palisade...Escalade...dream big Hyundai. LOL!1 point

I think Rivian is the one trying to steal mojo, not the other way around. Tesla has a foothold in the industry. Rivian hasn't sold a single production-grade/registerable vehicle yet.1 point

Seems Police are finally taking a heavy hand to IDIOTS who ICE electric charging stalls. German Translation via Bing: Our #A11 also takes care of heavyweights: If the big blue had actually tapped the charging station, the electricity would probably have failed in the surrounding households. Gonna suck for this Ford truck owner when they return to find their truck gone to the impound yard. Nice Raptor in the impound cage where they belong. Imagine all the ICE owners who would be pissed if EV's decided to park in front of gas station pumps not allowing people with empty tanks to fill up. ?1 point

He was at the University of Akron EJ Thomas Hall. Nice venue, built in the 70s, the inside reminded me a lot of the Phoenix Symphony Hall which is from the same era.1 point

My gig may be up at the end of the year...but it will probably get extended another year. I do like working remotely and get along great w/ my client of the last 5 years. My client is working to move away from the software platform I've been developing applications on (they are tired of IBM's byzantine licensing model) and want to move most of development to the Barbados and India teams, but are so inept with managing product rollouts that they will be lucky to migrate off of IBM in a year... I've had inquiries from several recruiters about financial and insurance sector software dev jobs here in the Cleveland area, so I'm not too worried, but I do love working from home 100%, esp. weeks like this with heavy snow in the forecast.1 point

I'm an I.T. Project manager specializing in infrastructure projects or mergers and acquisitions.. Basically, I build/upgrade/tear down/move big server projects. I happen to work in the energy sector right now, but I'm pretty sector agnostic. My job translates well to any sector.1 point

Yeah. I'm possibly losing my job by the end of the year. I've been there 13 years though, so my severance package will be good. I'm not super worried about it. Might even take some time off.1 point

If GM were really smart, it would sell EVs on the cheap to reclaim market share and build their way to dominance again. Lordstown is currently unnecessary so I am all for the sale.1 point

Looks are subjective. But because Tesla sells the amount they sell, their styling DOES resonate with the people. And THAT would be WORLDWIDE... As we know, for the most part, ugly cars do not sell. Tesla cars sell well. WORLDWIDE over Tesla cars are the most sold EVs. Ugly or not, THAT by definition makes Tesla style have Tesla mojo. In other words, Tesla has its own style and people gravitate towards it. And Tesla having its own style doing things its own way having its own mojo is a very good thing when it comes to BRANDING... Kleenex, Vaseline, Coke, Scotch Tape, Fridgidaire, Crock-Pot, Jet-Ski, Bubble Wrap, Google, Xerox, Amazon... The Tesla brand is fast becoming that kind of brand...if it aint already there... And the Model 3's minimalist approach to its interior (and that is how the Tesla Model S' interior will be too on its next refresh that will be soon enough) is well received by many that buy the Tesla 3. In fact, its a selling point. And a very successful selling point at that. You and I dont like it. But these EV peeps seem to adore it. Plus, you cant argue, Tesla has a very very good product to sale you. It aint all marketing bullshyte and fad of the day internet sensation... The EV technology that Tesla sells you is quite possibly the best there is out there... Plus its charging network that helps with the branding... I know you were NOT the one chastising me for dissing Ferrari VS Ford movie by saying that I dont want to see bullshyte American flag waving nonsense in the movie... but Ill tell you one thing, and others that hate on Tesla... AND ILL DO THE AMERICAN FLAG WAVING HERE. WHICH IS RIGHTFULLY DESERVED IN THIS CASE!!! TESLA IS AMERICAN!!! AN AMERICAN CAR COMPANY THAT IS COVETED ALL AROUND THE WORLD. BE PHOQUING PROUD!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER YOU FOLK???!!! THESE ARE THE TIMES WHEN YOU SAY: AMERICA! PHOQUE YEAH!!!1 point

Hyundai has announced that is has developed the world's first road noise countering active noise control system. While active noise control is available in many makes and models, it is limited to when the noise is constant and predictable. Hyundai's new system is able to analyze noise at a much faster pace. The digital sound processor can respond to a noise in 0.002 seconds. Cabin microphones constantly monitor road noise and then the speaker system emits sound waves that cancel out drone or engine roughness. Hyundai says they are able to decrease cabin noise by up to 3dB. That means that noise is cut nearly in half as compared to running without RANC. In EVs that can make the ride almost completely silent. The first application of this will be applied to an upcoming Genesis model, likely the Genesis SUV. View full article0 points
