  1. Yes exactly. At least that much much. I thought they were completely useless. But like you said, it was a high truck. I mean, Im 5'6 and half inches tall. Those hooks would do nothing for me anyway. LOL. So...100% completely useless for me. But if I ever wanted to be saving Barbie from Nikolai Volkoff and the Iron Sheik from tyranny, Ken with his ascots would just just choke himself to death, but I...with my Hummer...could save the world. And THAT was the idea behind the H2, and like you said, they sold like hotcakes with crazy high pricetags. And immediately after that, the HUMMER brand was expanding...

  2. Sweet Electra...that's a '77--one year only with those rear side marker lights, on the '78-79 the taillights wrapped around the corner caps.

  3. At an event is Seoul, South Korea yesterday, Genesis finally unveiled their new GV80 luxury SUV. The overall look of the GV80 has been leaking out on the internet for months, but we finally get the full official release now. The interior and exterior of the GV80 is designed with a common thread to give a familial look with the G70, G80, and G90. The GV80 introduces a new quad headlamp design that will eventually filter out to the other vehicles in the Genesis lineup. The crest grille first seen on the G90 is here too. The interior of the GV80 focuses on the "beauty of white space". The designed accentuated the width and space of the of the interior with wide horizontal lines and thin air vents. In the center is a 14.5-inch split screen infotainment display. Genesis intentionally limited the number of hard buttons and switches for aesthetic reasons. The GV80 comes in either 5-seat or 7-seat models. On up-level models, soft materials cover every surface from the inside of door handles to quilted knee pads that line the lower sides of the console. The transmission selector is a dial in the center console. The integrated controller can be operated by an onscreen keyboard or by handwritten letters. Trips in the GV80 are designed to be stress-free. It gets equipped with a Road Active Noise Cancellation technology to reduce road noise. The system is one of the advanced and fast responding systems in the world. The electronically controlled suspension with road preview helps maintain a smooth ride by recognizing road imperfections ahead via a front camera. The GV80 is based on a unique new rear-wheel drive platform, while all-wheel drive is available. In South Korea is till be equipped with a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine while the U.S. will get a choice between two unspecified turbocharged engines. All-wheel drive models in the U.S. will be equipped with an electronic rear limited slip differential. There is a host of safety and driving assistance technologies in the GV80 including Smart Cruise Control with Machine Learning, Highway Driving Assist II, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot collision Avoidance Assist, Rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and driver attention alert warning. In the event of a collision, there are 10 airbags, including a center mounted airbag between the front occupants. The 2021 Genesis GV80 will go on sale in North America later this year.

  5. I googled pics to confirm, but I remembered the green '77 a neighbor had when I was a kid..the '77 had taller taillights that didn't wrap the corners, '78-79 had wider, shorter taillights that wrapped the corners.. China is getting electric Buick Velite 7 based on the Bolt.. I wonder if the US will get it eventually..looks to be around the size of the Encore GX...

  6. You've got a good eye. I vaguely remember the different treatments of the rear. That may be an original color, then. Chevy used Volt and Bolt, so why not? They sell and/or sold, though I don't recall how well. I like it; however, Buick will have to study it carefully with image testing, stats, and that sort of research, which goes without saying. The automobile world can't afford another N - O - - V - A type gaffe.

  7. It looks good and I think the inside looks better than the Aviator. The MDX and XT6 look like yesterday’s news compared to this and forget about Infiniti.

  9. Yeah, i get what you're saying. People definitely loved them. they sold like hotcakes at their absurd prices. Also, those hood hooks were used to open the hood as it opened Corvette-style.

  10. Retro sighting - getting some disorganization organized ... "Deuce and a quarter," baby! Could be a '77, a '78, or maybe slightly later - don't know if this is an original paint color - incredible condition all the way around. Power most likely supplied by Olds via a 350 V8 or a 403 V8 (I'd take the 350). Just think how good this car would look with normal tires, normal whitewalls, and stock Buick alloys. It would make me want to drive this car daily. Like they say, "those were the days."

  11. The top skin may be the same, but the C-Pillar is definitely unique to Olds here. They used a huge kick-up in both the quarter window and the decklid, so the steel and the glass is different than Buick, Pontiac or Chevrolet.

  13. I really do hope that Buick uses the Electra on a new EV. Yes Balthy and Ocnblu will roast me about it, but it is a natural Marketing of EV with the Electra Name that should serve Buick well.
