  1. This morning did a Garlic test Harvest. So decided to harvest tonight. Almost 200 garlic in the harvest. All laid out to dry in my little green house. Final thing was to harvest the Garlic Greens. Great at being frozen so you can use them year round for making Broth, in pasta, salads, soups, you name it including meat marinades. Cannot go wrong with Garlic, so easy to grow.

  3. • Cleaned / degreased / edge-smoothed 1 front window regulator. • went thru 5 shelves of B-59 parts; re-familiarized myself, segregated extra parts into storage. • Pulled my 2 front & 1 original rear bumper out to evaluate. Rear is burnt toast. 1 front is a suitable core for rechroming. Have a line on a local rear bumper core. • Bought rechromed front bumper guards off B-59 restorer I bought from before.

  5. Over air updates CAN repair electronic problems where stated electronic is controlled by an electronic module. As has been proven with current updates at Tesla in their brakes and Ford and GM are also doing this with their brakes in regards to modulation, the various pressure of applying brakes, software updates can change the performance of how a certain electronic part works. In regards to @ccap41 stated about his friends Aviator CUV and the electronic issues. I suspect much is poorly written software code. When a company does not have strong software development / testing methods in place, once can have a very buggy electronic problem be it drive by wire, brake by wire, etc. Many times the code freezes with just the right order of how things are applied, a software patch can usually fix the issues. We have seen this with electronic transmissions that better software settings make it smoother, more efficient. Those in the computer industry will understand this very much due to addressing software bugs.

  7. Latest JD Powers Initial Quality Study Contrary to a popular believe when manufacturer deserves recognition it gets it. GM is above average and much higher than Toyota and Honda. Koreans are killing and Tesla needs to get their sh@t together.

  11. Who's fault is it that Honda has substantially more US made parts and designed, builds and assembles most of its US market cars and crossovers here than GM? People argue that at the end of the day corporation is foreign and profits go abroad. However, IMO it doesn't matter if the the majority of paying JOBS building that car are here, jobs that provide livelihood to many Americans. If Honda can do that there is no reason GM or Ford couldn't do that either if they wanted. However, these corporations (and many more) are controlled by accountants that only care about saving few cents and making more profits for shareholders and the top brass. I would rather have MDX (that's on the 17s place) than Buick Enclave (51s)

  13. Its a good looking sedan. Stately. The exterior is very elegant but also conservative somewhat, but that is what makes it good looking and stately. In my eyes at least. The interior is very very conservative. And boring. But it befits the exterior. The Arteon looks to be a nice, plush, posh sedan to drive in to and fro from work. It has a nice air of elegance to it despite the "for the people" badge it wears. For Audi A4 money, and the A4 being a smaller vehicle, I would choose the Arteon over the A4. Its more stately and its bigger and therefore more comfortable. And I think THAT is the Arteon's selling point... And if I was a VW/Audi fanboi, I wouldnt be looking to snub VW just because of the badge so I could 'upgrade' to the Audi. I would be owning and driving the Arteon with pride...

  14. Are you going into establishments as states begin to open and wonder what is going to be different? I am, to some degree. We can anticipate the paper menus and disposable utensils. Then, as I embarked on my first meal INSIDE an Arby's, I was thinking that one additional thing would be different. I just knew it! I often ring the bell upon leaving. I couldn't ring the damn bell!

  15. Problem with Audi A4 money is Audi A4 repair bills are at least twice as high as a VW repair bill. Pass on this sedan.

  16. If you are going to somehow bookend Seattle's King County, I think it's way better to be in Snohomish County than be in Pierce County. And it makes it even easier to go to Vancouver BC (more frequently). The number of counties in Texas and FM labels on their roads may be interrelated. FM means "farm to market," I believe. So, counties could only be so big so people could navigate them (on horse, in a Model T, I don't know). The only county in Texas I know fairly well is Harris, which is where the city of Houston is located. Also, the top end of Houston has the major artery FM 1960, which crosses Lake Houston on a causeway. You don't want to even think about swimming in Lake Houston. No you don't.

  18. @balthazar Numbers in that index rating and other surveys. If you have different numbers, please share. @oldshurst442 What the hell are you talking about? First of all this is not from Consumer Reports, this is Cars.com index. Secondary no one said anything about quality or reliability. This is just index of US made content of different models. Speaking of quality, if Honda can build pretty much all of their US market vehicles here with a majority of parts manufactured here as well and have good, actually very good quality, so should "phocking" Ford! Instead they save pennies by outsourcing manufacturing and build sh@t. I am all for building stuff in US and I think GM and Ford should do it more here.

  19. when American society in general STOPS treating the American worker as the enemy, then maybe manufacturing will return to the US... Its all about dollars and cents. And when the American worker...ALL WORKERS are looked at being as monetary liabilities and are exposed to be the MAIN go-to cost cutting measures to beef up the bottom line, then what do you expect American manufacturing to do? They just follow what the rest of the country does. They shyte on the American worker and dont give him any jobs... That is NOT just a Ford, GM, Chrysler thing. There is a war with minimum wage workers in the US... American people dont want minimum wage workers to make a decent living. American people want minimum wage workers to just go away. They are a nuisance to them. They are poor, uneducated and dont serve them properly. American people want their minimum wage workers to get an education and to quit their minimum wage job if they arent happy with the conditions of them serving the rest of us... On the other hand, the UAW has one over the corporations and these guys make money hand over fist, and yet, American people HATE the UAW for that... But...American people have NO PROBLEMS with CEOs making tons of money, phoquing us all up the butt, because they made us believe they deserve the salary they do because they are soooooo much better and smarter than the rest of us. They cheat on their taxes, they find loopholes in the tax system, they inside trade and make all their brotherhoods even richer... They convinced us that the average worker in the US should be limited in pay, they convinced us that EVEN CHEAPER labour SHOULD be attained in other lands so we could CONTINUE to buy the useless shyte they peddle...and all that useless shyte they peddle, SHOULD NOT be built in the US. Why? 1. too expensive to be built in the US 2. American build quality is shyte compared to the Germans and the Japanese. 3. Chinese made American products, its OK for THAT tombe built like shyte because we could just throw THAT out to buy new new new shytlly made Chinese produced American product... Its all phoquing surreal.... Here we are, and for the last 30-40 years, we continue to have this stupid discussion of what is more American. A Toyota or a Chevrolet. For the same criteria, we dont even QUESTION if a Mercedes and BMW SUV built in the US IS American...we simply say its German... (doesnt fit the German engineering is better than American cars motif the German companies brainwashed us with as opposed to what the Japanese are brainwashing us with...) We wage war on the American worker on a daily basis, yet we fakely defend American manufacturing... So...@ykX Do you believe the shyte rag of a mag that is consumer's report that American cars are subpar to cars like a Toyota? And...why do you believe that? Is it because American workers are pathetic? Well, the Camry is built in America... Is it because you think the Japanese have tighter tolerances and impose that on their American factories and the American car makers dont? I know for a fact that Toyota had a really bad stretch for reliability...but yet, that shyte narrative is still parrotted. What about the Germans? Their cars always seem to be handicapped by reliability issues... Cars built in Germany versus cars built in the US, maybe? So it MUST BE that American workers are shyte... So...why are you KNOW defending American manufacturing? Which is it? You cant have it both ways... And to which is why THIS discussion is such a shyte discussion. Its all over the place. Its MOSTLY corporate bullshyte that has brainwashed the American people for FAR to long... GM and Ford is both a victim and a culprit for this. But its mostly the American people's fault for allowing corporations and politicians to dictate to them how they should feel and act and that have ALLOWED this mess to happen in the first place...

  20. @dfelt, remember a few months ago when I told you about somebody I knew with a new Aviator and how well they liked it and they hadn't had any major issues..? Well things have since changed. He still loves the vehicle when it's being normal but he's having a major safety issue where when he goes from R -> D it will just idle away on its own. The brake pedal pushes but does absolutely nothing. He's posted a video and it's just idling about 5mph with him pumping the brake pedal and NOTHING. Very luckily, it has never happened around other people in a parking lot or anything but he said the worst time it did it was his driveway and it went ~150ft down his driveway before he could stop. He's taken it in now 3 times for this. The first time they couldn't replicate the issue and gave it back. The second time they re-flashed something or replaced something, didn't fix it. It is currently in on the 3rd attempt as the technicians just don't know what to do. i can't blame them as it seems above their level of fixing. He's trying to get rid of it and have Lincoln buy it back because it's a major safety issue. He's also had a small drive-line vibration that's been fixed on that 2nd visit. He's been in a Nautilus loaner for 2 or so weeks now. He's been dealing with somebody above dealership level trying to get it bought back.

  21. Vast majority of production for the US market are still US plants & support entities. And the grand total of US investment over time is astronomical. If we're going to embrace 'globalism' of the industry, then we likewise 'should' trumpet GM running plants in other countries, no? Not me, but maybe you. Question; are South Carolina mercedes' "American" vehicles?

  25. Why dont we ask the reverse question? (and actually answer the question...) How much Japanese are these cars? 5. Honda Odyssey (Lincoln, Ala.) | 6. Honda Ridgeline (Lincoln, Ala.) 7. Honda Passport (Lincoln, Ala.) 13. Honda Pilot (Lincoln, Ala.) 14. Acura RDX (East Liberty, Ohio) 15. Honda Accord (Marysville, Ohio) 16. Toyota Tundra (San Antonio) 17. Acura MDX (East Liberty, Ohio) 25. Acura TLX (Marysville, Ohio) 27. Toyota Highlander (Princeton, Ind.) 28. Lexus ES (Georgetown, Ky.) 29. Toyota Avalon (Georgetown, Ky.) And then we will get a more clear picture of how much American those cars above REALLY are...

  30. That is why I chose to use baby llamas for my "controversial" post. To get a rise from people. They are sooo cute and adorable that when I mentioned they get sacrificed (at the Tesla Motors altar), I was hoping some of these Muskian religious zealots would start hatin' on me. Id get clicks and some fame and Id get my own shock jock TV or radio show or something. ] But alas, that didnt happen. I only seem to get a rise with people when I say shyte like rich, bitch, WHITE middle aged "Karens" drive Porsche CUVs... Oh well... Ill continue on my shock jock ways until I get my day in the shock jock world of entertainment some day.

  32. Lucky me, Washington only has 31 and like you we had to memorize them and what was the key product for each county. ? Lucky we do not state what county your from, but they do ask the name of the county your in which is weird to out of state transplants as everything here is Indian terms. So I live in Snohomish County.

  33. 159, 2nd only to Texas which has 254. If memory serves me, Ohio has 88..I had to memorize them and facts about each in my Ohio history class in school 35+ years ago...Ohio used to have stickers on the license plates spelling out the county name, when I moved here 3 years ago they were using county number stickers instead of name stickers. Then in 2018, they switched back to county name stickers..go figure.
