I do like that they tried to keep it somewhat squared off instead of all coupe-like to maximize aerodynamic efficiency. The windshield has a crazy rake to it but he rest is pretty square and I appreciate that. I don't like the wheels but that's relatively minor and "easy" to change(assuming they're smart enough to use the same lug pattern as some other manufacturer).2 points

The GLS is similar in size to the Durango. V8, 3 row. At a much higher price point, of course. It's not like Dodge is competing with M-B. The Durango competes w/ the Acadia, Traverse, Explorer, etc..2 points

So because he doesn’t care for the throwback look, he doesn’t have a clue? Referring to a 54 year old version of it doesn’t really take away from his complaint. I’m with Balth on this. While nostalgic, that thing was a pile back in the day, even by 1966 standards. Of course, some don’t have a clue and just cling to the old ways and the old days.1 point

I wrote this when Ford first introduced the Bronco about a month ago: And a month later, I still havent 100% warmed over on it. I like it...but I dont love it. And I really really prefer the Jeep. And to be honest, I prefer the decades old HUMMER HX concept over the Bronco. I do prefer the Bronco over the Toyota FJ Cruiser though. Anyway, with all said and done, The Hellcat TRX, the Ford Raptor and any lifted Jeep Wrangler would be my offroading choice for new vehicles. If I was doing a project offroader, I think Id do a late 1970s -1980s Toyota Hilux or 4Runner. Or most probably, JEEP...1 point

I believe you're the first/only person I've talked to that doesn't like it and I talk to plenty of fanboys of their respective brands. I thought it was quite unanimous that they hit it out of the ballpark outside of the IFS for those serious off-roaders.1 point

The more rake a windshield has, the exponentially more obscured your forward vision is. The geometry of a more & more 'horizontal' A-Pillar, coupled with tough roll-over standards, really impedes on the safety factor.1 point

^ If true, that certainly leaves the barn door WIDE open to greatly cheapen / cut corners and make/rake in profits. Daimler is especially feeling that sort of pressure- will be interesting to watch.1 point

The Raptor Ranger has been in production for a few years outside NA. Maybe they will do a Raptor version of the next gen one in NA. Sounds like they already have multiple pretty serious off road versions of the Bronco anyway, with the Badlands and Wildtrak w/ Sasquatch package...1 point

That was my thinking too, the Front rake is crazy, but understandable. Love the Squared off back end and the roof rack. I am actually liking the style too. Wheels were Meh, to me, but like you stated, if they are using industry standard lug pattern, then new rims are not a problem. I am also liking the large glass between the C & D pillars.1 point

People who buy Mercedes will never even know. You could extend that to almost any manufacturer because the public doesn't care.1 point

Let me get this straight. You have a company building the #1 product (your metric: sales) for SEVENTY-TWO YEARS, selling 800,000 to sometimes 900,000 units.... and you want to put your money down AGAINST them??????1 point

Getting a 'big nissan' vibe from the lucid SUV. That, and a yawn.1 point

The Durango is a unibody CUV. MB already built something better than the TRX.1 point

And remember, a Durango is basically a long wheelbase 3 row WK2 Grand Cherokee with different styling. A very solid product all around though a decade old now.. 3rd gen Durango is unibody, remember it's a WK2 Grand Cherokee variation. The 1st and 2nd gen Durangos were BOF.1 point

Demand always matters. No demand=no money.1 point

True as the statement goes Lipstick on a Pig, I can see Ford putting LipStick on the Bronco to sell a badged off road version, but I think they will not actually build a Raptor Ford Ranger. The funds I think are tied up elsewhere.0 points

Well if Cybertruck or the Hummer have 1,000, what is Ram’s answer? All they have are dinosaur Hemi V8s that are crazy thirsty. And Ram probably won’t have an EV til 2025 at best. The big issue is money, FCA had none, much like Nissan has none, hopefully PSA had some but we’ll see how the merger goes. Elon has near endless money to build whatever he wants.-1 points

Naw, it was exciting when I saw the concept in the movie Rampage, but this to me already looks dated and needs an update on that Front end. Do not get me wrong the off road capabilities are great, but the front and back of the 21st century Bronco just do nothing for me. It is like 20th century lipstick, face and butt on a 21st century body.-1 points
