  1. There are many things. The new Bronco definitely has a retro modern feel, some touches from the '66-77 1st gen Bronco. It's not quite as retro as the modern Challenger is or the '05-09 Mustang was, though, IMO.

  2. Some like retro styling, some don't. Time will tell as to how it does in the market. You couldn't fit in it anyway, so it's a moot point for you.

  3. Final thoughts before the G70 heads back today, Average fuel economy landed around 23 mpg. Kind of mixed on this. Ride quality is on the compliant side. Very glad Genesis decided to stick with 19-inch wheels and not jump to 20s Infotainment system is what you would find on Hyundai models. I kind of wished Genesis had done some tweaks to make it look slightly different, but I cannot complain about ease of use. Trunk space is quite shallow. Stay tuned for the full review in about a month's time or so. In the meantime, I'll have a new interactive review with the next test vehicle coming tomorrow.

  4. I suppose the 'Blonde Date' above could go either way: 115 lbs or 150 lbs. Mark my vote permanently on 115.

  5. @trinacriabob Dates are da BOMB! Love them. Buy them by the tub from Costco and enjoy them with everything. Especially a Bacon Wrapped Date on the BBQ. Try this recipe if you like Dates. Date filled Cream Cheese with Bacon. YUM YUM YUM This recipe uses Goat Cheese, but you can really use any kind of Cheese that you like. Cream Cheese makes it very decadent. https://www.vindulge.com/grilled-bacon-wrapped-dates-with-smoked-honey/

  6. Do you like dates? Not those kinds of dates. Dates you can eat. WTH? No, these kinds of dates. When I was a kid, I thought they were gross, mostly because of the way they looked. My parents loved them. Perhaps it had to do with their growing up in an area where palm trees were normal and the Arab world wasn't all that far away. I came to learn that dates are delicious. This one famous kitsch place for dates is called Shields Date Garden and is in Indio, CA near Palm Springs. I believe Indio is the "Date Capital of the World." And, if you're still thinking about the other kind of dates, they can "sort of" accommodate you: Any family jaunt to the SoCal desert near Palm Springs meant my parents would be buying dates to eat there ... and to eat at home. Not only that, it's kind of funny to connect the dots between Shields ... and dates.

  8. Interesting editorial in the Houston Chronicle by Chris Tomlinson who writes about and follows the Oil Industry. New battery tech will pull electric vehicles even with petrol-fueled cars. 1) He lists all the battery companies that have been bought up by oil companies due to solid state batteries that are coming out in 2023. 2) He lists all the auto companies that have paired up or bought interest in battery companies who are all releasing solid state batteries in 2023. 3) He gives a quick history of batteries and why they could not till now charge fast enough. Liquid has always been the issue. 4) He talks about the various kinds of solid state design that will quadruple the density of battery charge and can exceed even todays 800V charging power. One noticeable change that will affect everyone world wide is that a solid state cell that is the same size of existing Li cells that have liquid will be 4 times denser, meaning take your existing cell phone and the battery it has today and quadruple the amount of charge it can carry and how long it will last before having to recharge. Now do that to EVs and you have some big range. Imagen the Chevrolet Bolt with current 258 miles on the existing liquid Li battery and a move to solid state means they can reduce the size to one quarter the size and keep the same range, or keep the same size but end up with a battery pack that has a 1,032 mile range. Example the writer makes is current Bolt takes 6 hours to charge up full and yet at a commercial quick charge site, it will take minutes. Good informative read. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/columnists/tomlinson/article/new-battery-tech-electic-cars-vehicles-evs-15473080.php

  9. I would enjoy some petite blonde dates, very much. Petite but -I think the term might be- ‘stacked’.

  10. I'd love to see Chevy bring back the Blazer name for an off-road capable 2dr full size SUV, or as a midsize 2dr SUV based on the Colorado. It's a great name wasted on a generic appliance as it is now, IMO.

  11. Does make one wonder if GM would consider a 2 door Tahoe and Yukon if the Bronco sells well.

  12. I'll probably take a look down the road at the Bronco, esp. in a 2dr... I had a Bronco II back in the day and always liked the full size Broncos.

  15. Quite well. I threw some various voice commands and aside from one (I think it was me trying to change the SiriusXM station), the system was able to figure out what I was saying.

  17. Except he never he said he was mystified as to where they got the inspiration from. He actually made it pretty clear that it was 20th century inspiration on a 21st century body And it doesn’t really work for him. Seems that point flew right over your head. Twelve years in Arizona and tons of Wranglers rolling around, clean as a whistle with not a speck of off road dirt to be seen on them. Take that however you want.

  18. Im not really a truck guy, SUV or pick-up. Im only now embracing the fullsized pick-up truck as a daily driving ride. I work on the premise that pick-up trucks or SUVs are tough as nails and are work horses. Which leads to them being lifted and offroaded. But, because Im a muscle car guy, a pick-up truck that works on those muscle principles works well for me also. Lightning, SRT-10, Chevy C/K 454SS. Lil Red Wagon. A Raptor or TRX is the PERFECT mix for me. Muscle through and through and lifted. But MOPAR has FoMoCo and Chevy beat hands down in that regard for me. SRT-10 RAM a decade ago and now a Hellcat TRX has captured my heart of over the Lightning and Raptor. Chevy it seems only had the 454SS it seems... Maybe there was a muscle Silverado 15 years ago. I remember something vaguely... As far as the smaller offroaders. Yeah. I think this is a cool segment. Not my style really. You know, muscle cars is how I roll. But, I really really enjoy the lifted Jeep/lifted Hilux/4Runner segment of enthusiast motoring. About that TRX though. Its got the muscle car looks, cartoony name, aura. Its got the muscle under the hood. Its lifted and is a bonafide offroader as well as a very quick accelerating ride. (muscle...) What is there NOT to like? (for me) (I really dont care what anybody else thinks of it. The TRX is a really really awesome ride) PS: I never understood the 1st gen Bronco. I didnt like it then. I dont like it now. I do like this new Bronco though. More the Jeep. F250 from the mid '70s as BigFoot is what I think about for offroading from Ford in that era. And this is how the Hilux/4Runner gets into my mix. And originally starting that would be my love for WW2 history and hence the Jeep. And from there we get the Dodge Power Wagon and so forth and so forth...

  22. So because he doesn’t care for the throwback look, he doesn’t have a clue? Referring to a 54 year old version of it doesn’t really take away from his complaint. I’m with Balth on this. While nostalgic, that thing was a pile back in the day, even by 1966 standards. Of course, some don’t have a clue and just cling to the old ways and the old days.

  23. No they don't, if they are mystified as to where Ford got their inspiration for the "front end" of the Bronco, as it was put. There are plenty of coherent reasons why the new Bronco looks like it does.
