Green Car Reports has... reported that General Motors has admitted they don't have an actual, working Hummer EV. Apparently the release video was largely CGI.3 points

Bel Air is a '54. Looks like they got it dropped in front for some attitude. I don't care for that Ram nose- too much unpainted plastic. But in general I agree that the Ram overall is very nicely designed.2 points

Let's not loose sight on all of the fun things one can do with a truck, electric or gas or deisel...or powered by unicorn farts... Would love to make this road trip in my Ranger. More cool adventure, this time in a Hilux in the Darien area of Panama, which I am currently infatuated with. ...and music about being out in the country...although given my desire to see new things, this might as well be "out of the country"2 points

No way they are not loosing their ass on such a low volume bespoke vehicle. Loosing their ass. Meanwhile in the ICE world...2 points

My rosebushes have not done well, this was their third yerr. This summer, in a bid to shore them up, I applied Miracle Grow rose food every 2 weeks, with surprisingly limited success. In the same bed, I have two weigelas. One is fantastic, the other is puny. They were planted together about 10 yerrs ago. Now I am thinking of yanking them all out with a tow strap and eliminating that side bed altogether. Ass, Grass or Gas, no one rides for free.1 point

It's not that it's on the market or in the market. It's that I keep going back to the fridge saying, "I'll just eat a few more spoonfuls," and it's gone way too soon. And then you don't feel that great afterwards. I keep telling myself that I won't buy ice cream cartons (in some form of chocolate) anymore and then I repeat this mistake every 2 months or so. Tonight, I learned that I can't buy Trader Joe's water crackers, either.1 point

It was good enough to convince a bunch of suckers to put down deposits, though. First year sold out supposedly, though has GM revealed how many units that actually is?1 point

Rivian has a bunch of actual working trucks though. More on the Jeep truck idea we were talking about earlier.1 point

Love both the Cutty and the GTO, Ram builds fantastic looking trucks, infinitely better than the dated and pug-ish Tundra.1 point

October 3 - more conventional cars seen: Blast from the past - I believe it was an '85, per the grille - in very good condition - could do without the pimpy coach light and metal decoration in the B-pillar This was about 4 houses away from the Cutlass! Just a minute or so away. Wow. Again, these look sharp in silver with burgundy leather inside. Who said we don't need coupes anymore? A GP in great condition considering where it was - a 2004 because of those wheel colors and a keyed trunk lock - all that was missing here was Mary Tyler Moore (just kidding ... RIP MTM, a cool lady). Last but not least, the Chrysler product - a Ram truck. Granted, their grilles have gotten nicer. Within the last few years, it has finally sunken in that it's not a Dodge Ram, but a Ram. What struck me here is that this dude, or chick, can keep their truck in perfect condition but not pop for a needed window pane for their garage door in a cold climate.1 point

That was my one-and-only gig at a government/municipal client..eye opening. The whole office just felt shabby, from the ancient Bunn coffee maker (which had a 25-cent charge per cup), to the carpet to the creaky elevator to go to the 7th floor offices...which overlooked the fancy relatively new city office building across the street...1 point

Me thinking it would start at 100k wasn't me being negative though. It's just being realistic as EV are priced significantly more than ICE and the things they were featuring, like 1000hp and 4 wheel steer, are things that'll make them more expensive. A Bolt is nearly 40k. A super truck with super capabilities was going to be through the roof, imo.1 point

Nice! Yeah, we had 3 S10 4.3L pickups in our electrical contracting fleet of 14 service and install trucks at one time including full-size vans and other trucks in the early to mid 90's. Ladder rack, canopy and a ton (literally) of weight in tools and parts on the S10's. They were well maintained and just kept going with well over 150k mi. on the odo, no down time ever, always kept the business crankin'.1 point

Should be plenty of room under the hood for a 3.8L turbo setup. ? I think '78 was the first year for the Grand National so you would only be pulling it ahead a year or two. The rust would definitely worry me. I would get underneath and see how bad the underbody is for sure. This kind of reminds me of when I was driving through northern Ohio on a business trip back in 2010 and came across this beauty. I had to stop and check it out. I just stumbled across these pictures yesterday while looking for something different. If you had the time, patience and tools this would have been a fun LS swap project in my book. Throw a turbo or supercharger on it even. I was just watching a video a week or two ago where someone did a turbo LS in like and 80's Mercury wagon and kept it looking stock. Even went so far as to have the stock rear wheels widened to keep the sleeper look.1 point

These were a random Chrysler "surprise!" and I'm seeing them out & about now too. Good way to sneak in the AWD, and definitely, pricing is not an issue vs. some. In many markets, this may become "THE way" to get one. Good move, Chrysler. 2020 will be a unique unicorn, as it has the guts, but not the other 2021 updates. Not a bad thing, either way.1 point

Except Tesla has already started to drop prices on Tesla Y CUVs so Ford is matching to be competitive. A Smart and sound business practice.1 point

Explain please, this seems crazy as I just got a few cartons of ice cream at my local Fred Meyers. EV in the ICE Thread! Tesla of China is recalling 30,000 plus Tesla S and X from 2013 to 2018 imported from California due to suspension issues. OUCH https://www.ibtimes.com/tesla-recall-30000-cars-china-over-suspension-defects-30684410 points

I had a co worker with 430K on an S10 Blazer that was lifted running big tires since new....IIRC he sold it just short of half a million miles, no real issues other than suspension parts. In all fairness on the suspension parts he did wheel the truck. Was the second gen, more rounded S10 Blazer. Notice how they almost dump the 4 runner at the 9 minute mark, good wheeling video. Kind of an epic video, love how the newer fullsize Chevy and older F150 make Cameo appearances, and get to go out and play with the Jeeps. Also, the term, "I will love you till the wheels fall off" reflects how I feel about my wife. I do need to get rid of the front mount externally mounted spare tire though....she would like that. And Blu has helped me in keeping thirty pounds off...on Facebook...he jokingly told me I would never keep it off...every time I think of eating something I shouldn't, Blu's ghost shows up....reminding me of that...0 points
