  1. it's interesting. Elio has been going around to all of the states to get this classified as a car instead of a motorcycle. I would like to do an article about that. So what is gained by getting this classified as a car rather than a trike? I thought it was cheaper and easier to get on the road as a 3 wheeled trike than a car?
  2. I have no desire to ever own a CVT equipped vehicle. As much as a conventional auto takes away from driver involvement and feel versus a manual, a CVT takes it that much further. I don't condone the appliance mentality so wide spread in the U.S., we invented the automotive society, and we seem to be the first to take it for granted and suck the life out of it. I also read that the CVT feel is one of the #1 complaints about Nissan cars from consumers, so I'm not just some crotchety conservative 28 year old! RESPONSE: My 28yr old son has a Jeep Patriot Trail Rated edition and is fine with the CVT. As he says, "Dad, as long as I get up the mountain to snowboard and get around, who cares about the transmission type." He is more about use of the auto than about the components and I think most of the 20 to 30 year olds see auto's like their cell phone, a tool to use and ignore.
  3. I found it funny. Super funny.However...Im in the camp you mentioned that when Chevy finally goes all out with the aluminium stuff all around and not just on the hood...Ill be ready to call out Chevy for it. One thing I dont like is hypocrite stuff... Sure...the commercial was funny, sure it packs a punch...but how much of that punch will come back to bite Chevy in the butt? That commercial is only fine for the people that love Chevy and hate Ford... Lets face it...that commercial wont make die hard Ford guys dump the F-150 just because Chevy says aluminium is less safe than high strength steel... That commercial might get some sales from people in between...those that are not brand loyal to Ford or Chevy...and when Chevy eventually goes aluminium like the F-150...then those people that bought the Silverado based on that bear....well...they will feel duped...and may never buy a Chevy again... Why I say that? Because there are many people out there that swear by the words of marketers...they are soooo naive that they believe everything they hear on TV...and these people...get flustered very easily when they find out you messed with them... Im sure Silverado sales wont go caca just because of this very funny commercial...but I am not impressed by the message behind it either. I don't think the issue with dissing Ford is because of the aluminum as such, but rather the lack of results that the aluminum brought. Simply put, it wasn't the game-changer that it was hyped up to be. When GM (and Mopar for that matter) start going aluminum-intensive with their trucks I'm sure that they will be scrutinized as closely as Ford's were, and if they're still as tubby and inefficient as previously they'll be called out for it too. GM & RAM have never been at "Tubby" as FORD. Ford only got to the weight of GM and RAM by using the aluminum bed. When GM and RAM go Aluminum, they will drop another big chunk of weight and FORD will be back at the rear moving it's TUBBY butt around.
  4. Here is the news review of the Cadillac Poolside commercial and was very positive and supportive of it.
  5. What do you mean by a chart? Currently I look at it and we have the list of stories and what I see as a traditional news letter, nice but I am thinking especially for smartphone use, if we have a chart at the top that lists all the hot stories and links so it jumps to those stories, people can then choose what they want to read rather than scroll down. I know in my engineering test cases, I always use excel and at the top of the document have a spreadsheet listing out what all is in the document and links so you can jump to what is of interest to you. Hope this makes sense, I am operating on 2 hrs of sleep so sorry if it is not clear. So you want a list of stories without the picture and teaser text? That is my thinking for having it be more mobile friendly. List of the stories and then you can have an expanded section with pictures and brief overview below for people on computers and tablets. Just trying to think on how we can cover both the mobile smartphone phablet area and the desktop/laptop/tablet users.

  7. Overall I love the newsletter, only thing I can think of is a consolidated summary at the beginning so one could see what all is in the newsletter and not topics. I end up flipping through the newsletter to see what all is there, I would love to see a chart at the beginning showing what all has gone on in the forums.
  8. Seems ELIO made a splash at the 2015 NY autoshow and we missed it! Here is their Press Release.
  9. Ford continues to show their Bloat. 4400+ pounds OUCH!
  10. Just got back from my trip to Fairmount Mineral Hot springs in Canada, love that place. Took a day to drive to Banf, then Lake Louise and hike up to the glaciers and then ran up to Jasper for dinner and drove north to enjoy the bright long day till I ran out of road and turned around and drove back to Fairmount. Awesome 24hr road trip and hike.
  11. I hope GM gets the JoyStick control right that is showing in the bottom picture. Hopefully easier to use and more intuitive compared to the stupid system MB or BMW uses.
  12. I like the interior of the new Camaro much much better than Mustang. The mustang's interior is a bit of a let down after seeing the sexy exterior..... plus, I still loath Sync. BUT BUT BUT Sync is your ultimate embedded Microsoft Kernel Friend so it has to be better than anything else!
  13. I'd like to see them do a new I-6 and maybe turbo it for a Supra. Why note make the New Supera an EV auto with a decent electric motor and a 200 mile range? As I have posted in other threads about electric motors, you could easily put in a 420HP 560lbs of torque motor and have it blow everyone off.
  14. Back to the RAM discussion, I wonder how GM and FORD will respond to this Twist Upgrade? Torque war is ragging right now!
  15. You're probably seeing the TDIs Very true, did not think about that but then why does the Duramax not do the black cloud thing when you stomp on it compared to the TDI's of Audi?
  16. So much for the Ultimate Driving Machine! Wonder if MB or Audi also have the same problem?
  17. You clearly have not sat in both. Yes I have and still FORD Trucks interiors come across cheap in comparison to sitting in a GMC or even the Ram. In pecking order, I think who has the best interior is as follows. GMC/CHEVY RAM FORD
  18. The only time I would say the Predator Mouth Grill works on their cars. As proven at Pikes Peak, it would be awesome to have an EV model with 600HP and 1000lbs of torque to move this. People would buy it I truly believe. Cadillac should do this, have a performance EV with a decent 200-300 mile battery system.
  19. Love the Ad, that is too funny! In reality, both trucks are solid trucks, but I do have to knock Ford as their interiors look and feel cheaper to me than GM or Ram.
  20. Course you can always use the more editor options when creating a post and then click Preview Post and double check your post be fore posting. That makes it nice to post non edited posts then, but I agree with Drew, we do not think less of you for editing to keep your post spelling error free and good grammar.
