  1. Amazing that People would bash the heck out of a US based auto company if they produced and tried to sell this but it is OK for garbage like this to exist and no one cares because it is Asian.
  2. Wasn't the air injection a requirement for California emissions in the 80's?
  3. Wasn't that to do with boing between two museums/buildings or something?
  4. I have to challenge the validity of this JD powers report in regards to Lexus. I have multiple family members in California who have Lexus auto's and they are constantly in the shop. My Aunt traded in her old Lexus, 3yrs old which had all kinds of problems and got a new RX SUV last Oct and she is so frustrated that she has started to look around for some other luxury small SUV. Sadly due to her son inlaw who is so hung up on Asian auto makers are the only quality products in town she will not even look at an American auto. Sadly I think most will agree, this was bound to happen across the board as we add a ton of electronics to every aspect of the auto. The bugs will go up. I would be willing to bet 25% of the bugs are due to software issues. Lousy transmission shifting is probably buggy software Lousy fuel usage, buggy software freezing nav, buggy software. I am willing to bet that most come down to poor QA of the software that runs the mechanical components of the auto.
  5. Very true but it has it's own style compared to the Anime cars today.
  6. Back away from the Coffee and Anime!
  7. Hot Rodders, Everyone can hot rod their ride in their own style!
  8. They all have the same Mad at the world Head Lamp look. The I am pissed at the world look at me now. Wish someone would go with a I am an Individual look at me now headlamp design.
  9. Much better price even though tax payers lost their shirts and better than the original 25 mil price. Be interesting to see what happens next.
  10. I could see them more in trying out the SubCompact CUV market place than the BMW 3 series competitor where it has really heated up.
  11. Thanks Drew, That is awesome information. I agree with you that most of us were not aware of this information.
  12. I think they should bring the Turbo Diesel 2L engine here. 147HP / 350LB-FT with the 6 spd manual. Best yet is checking out this site that shows all the awesome Subaru Diesels you can get anywhere else in the world but here in the US! http://www.boxerdiesel.com/ Which Diesel would you like?
  13. Interesting is the information that Cummins puts on their web site about Nissan and their new V8 5L diesel engine. They also have a V6 that they are shopping to all auto companies. http://cumminsengines.com/cummins-5L-V8-turbo-diesel Further Info posted here in good detail from Diesel Power Mag. http://www.dieselpowermag.com/news/1310_cummins_isv5_0_v8_diesel_engine/ Cummins covers their RAM history here; http://cumminsengines.com/pickup-truck-historical-ratings Like the Nissan Frontier Diesel Runner info here. http://cumminsengines.com/nissan-frontier-diesel-runner
  14. Very cool to find some of Toyota's older 80 series landcruisers that had diesels. http://www.toyota-global.com/showroom/vehicle_heritage/landcruiser/collection/model_80_1.html WOW, Some very cool sources off Toyota global web site for their diesels. http://www.toyota-global.com/webservice/tg/dc/en/search?q=diesel+engines Interesting that Toyota does not have a particulate system for their own in house diesels. Fastest to market is to go with another vendor. You can buy plenty of low mileage Toyota Diesels here. http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/toyota-used-diesel-engines.html 33 links to V8 Diesels on Toyota Global site. http://www.toyota-global.com/webservice/tg/dc/en/search?q=diesel+V8+engines&mode=search This CHART shows Toyota's history of engine development and it shows in January 2007 they developed Toyota's First V8 Diesel. It was killed off after the global economic depression. http://www.toyota-global.com/company/history_of_toyota/75years/data/automotive_business/products_technology/technology_development/engines/index.html Toyota is dusting off this engine work, but it looks like from what I can find in reviewing their own documents on the web their fastest way to a Diesel Truck that meets US Regulations is a Cummins.
  15. Just drove through my GMC dealership here and they have a 2015 also, white one. Very nice. Wife was in a hurry to shop so could not stop to check it out, but nice to see them. I did once I was in Bellevue dropped the wife off at the mall and stopped at the chevy dealership. 22 Tahoes and 18 Suburbans in stock and no 2015. I wonder if the dealerships that have low or no stock are getting the 2015's first giving the other dealerships time to sell out the older models?
  16. That would be interesting to see Nissan and Toyota use the same Cummins V8 diesel. More interesting to see if it is priced the same or not.
  17. Fully loaded Denali Yukon XL is worth 60K. The AWD system gives you confidence in towing/hauling and ability to get through any weather. If it is higher than that, then yes the prices are getting crazy.
  18. YES YES YES, Thank you GM, Please Video tape the Restoration process and show it on TV. Many would love to see these special auto's being restored and learn more about them.
  19. Thanks BlackViper, Anyone else have input to enhace or expand the Compact, mid, full size line up and what competes against what? Where would one put the XTS? I thought that was full size but not a A8 or 7 series or S class competitor.
  20. Why would this be the same size as an ATS? This is an S-class coupe... which, you know, is based on the S-Class sedan, Mercedes-Benz's largest sedan. SMK was compairing it to the size of the ATS and LaCrosse including the height of 56". That is why I said if it is sized with the ATS I will never be able to drive it. I also agree with Balthazar, at 6'6" tall, Todays modern cars have removed us large people as possible consumers since the only thing we fit into for comfort is trucks and SUV's. Not everything in life is better small! Small cars are not really better. If all you care about is MPG and want to give up Quality of Life, then drive your coffin and accept that you will die when a much larger auto or semi hits you. Back on Topic, This is a FAILURE! MB should have done better in design both inside and out! Is is nice? YES, Is it different enough to stand out on it's own, NO! Best example of this is the picture of the Honda Accord Coupe that was posted, this looks like an evolution of that auto. Nice but still bland and fading in with the rest. It does not stand out or make a statement and it does not come across as ubber luxury, elite class. MB has chevized their product line.
  21. I find it interesting that many folks here have stated the 3 & 4 series is to compete against the A5 series. I thought the BMW 3 & 4 series were to compete against the Audi A3 and Cadillac ATS and MB C class. So then this sounds like the BMW 3 & 4 should also compete against the Cadillac CTS and MB E class based on what many here have stated. So if you are competeing in a Price/Size category, it is confusing that some say it competes against higher level from the competition. I would like to see a chart that shows the models from each vendor and which class they truly compete in. Compact Luxury class Cadillac ATS BMW 3 & 4 Series Audi A3 & A4 MB C class Lexus CT Infinity G sedan Mid Size Luxury Class Cadillac CTS BMW 5 & 6 series Audi A5 & A6 MB E class Lexus ES Infinity Q50 & 60 series I know I could have some in the wrong actual class, but this is my thinking, something that actually shows us what class each auto competes in.
  22. I agree with everything here, but have to state two amazing auto's not on the list. Balthazar, I help you out here. GMC Syclone & Typhoon
  23. Sounds like they promoted someone who then threw a tantrum as they did not have their own product line, so they created the 4 but the person in charge of the 3 threw a tantrum about loosing his auto's to the 4 so the 3 decided to go ahead and make replacements. They are screwing themselves up royaly!
  24. I will never be able to drive this since if it is the same size as the ATS and while I love the design of the ATS. I could not sit upright, even with the seat all the way back, I was not comfy since I could not get enough leg room and no one could ever sit behind me. Another Benze for the under 6' crowd. Bedazzled with Crystals and a SOSO design language inside and out. Yet they will sell a ton to the status John versus John freaks out there.
