Opel/Vauxhall News: Geneva Motor Show: The Meanest Astra You Have Ever Seen
That one doesn't existe anymore If not a Buick (and really... why not?) I'd do it as a Chevrolet. The problem is that the Astra's interior design is the same as the Verano's, so... They could try... but I think they need to work on the sport side of their image a bit more. Start with the Adam first. Still think Buick would be a better plce for the car... Re the Adam, IDK... Adam is more youthful than sporty (except for the new Adam S)... Something a little more outrageous like this Astra to get attention and a couple months later introduce the Astra GTC range as the Buick Astra, maybe?... While I Doubt this would happen as GM like all other auto companies seem to be gun shy, I believe ZL-1 has hit it right on. GM Needs to shock everyone with a auto like this for the Buick market here that would drive middle age and young people into buy the car and show a rebellious side to Buick. This is what Buick needs to jump their image back into the main stream.

Nope, do not do it. I know your itching to get a new ride, but wait for the Canyon / Colorado trucks, you will love the Diesel powered trucks more than the full size.

VW News: Rumorpile: Volkswagen Reconsiders Truck Plan For The U.S.
Right now GMC are the best looking full size trucks and SUV's, last version it was the Chevy's. Interesting that both divisions cannot seem to get a good long term design language for their auto's.

Chevrolet News:Rumorpile: Next Camaro To Take On Evolutionary Design Path
They could loose the 800lbs if they took off all the Nanny devices and protection crude they require on auto's now. Just think, if you want a real modern muscle car with the lightness of the old original muscle cars, just drop all the junk they have been forced to add rolling back to the basic auto of the late 60's early 70's and you would have a New Rocket.

The Nissan IDx - Any Chance of a Production Model?
Nah, I have been told I have no taste by the wife, daughter and many others all these years, so to each his own, we all have our own special view of life. If you love it, go for it. It is what makes things so interesting. Look at the Jeep Renegade and the compass it will replace. I posted comparison pics in that thread and it really is interesting.

NJ chooses to block Direct Sales of Automobiles Possibly forcing Tesla to close stores.
Bloomberg is reporting that NJ caught Tesla by surprise when it moved to block direct sales of cars to the public forcing Tesla to consider what to do with their two auto stores in the most densely populated state in the nation. Tesla says that the company has been talking to NJ Government. The governor has said Tesla needs to work with the state's political system to change existing laws. Either way, Tesla is in a long fight as more states pass tougher direct sales laws for auto sales to protect their current franchise network of dealers. Texas just passed some of the strictest laws around. Full Story: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-03-11/tesla-stores-may-be-closed-after-n-j-blocks-direct-sales.html

Could a Corvette V8 Family of engines be used to replace all engines world wide by offering a V8, V6, V4 and V2 versions?
So with all the discussions that we have had about various engines and how the auto companies are pushing to standardize engine families across the world to address the tax's imposed on size, this made me wonder about why GM has never built a complete family of V engines based on the tough durable Corvette Push Rod V8. I admit I do not have the engineering chops to dig into the fine details and invite those here that do to share with us what they think the HP, Torque and Efficiency would be like on a family of Push rod V engines. This would include my desire to know if a V2 could work as a efficient engine for the Subcompact market? My thoughts Base line Corvette DI V8 Push rod Engine with VVT as the Foundation. Engine variations: DI V6 standard DI V6 Turbo DI V6 Twin Turbo DI V4 standard DI V4 Turbo DI V4 Twin Turbo DI V2 standard DI V2 Turbo DI V2 Twin Turbo Thoughts on this engine family? I figure the use of 6, 8 and 10 speed Transmissions as you have to address the marketing needs even if the difference is very small between the gains of an 8 versus 10 speed transmission. So what would the HP and Torque figures be like?

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes-Benz Readies More Sprinter Models and Dealers For U.S.
But that is where I have to totally Disagree with SMK and most people. Other than the M Series from BMW and the AMG series from MB, I do not think their normal car line REEKS of LUXURY! This goes with SMK's E series, Nice Car but nothing special other than the badge on the hood. The interior is not impressive and does not have a quality build IMHO. The wife always told me I never do seem to get hung up in the marketing message as I feel this way about cloths and other items of so called Luxury. People are so concerned with a name badge that they forget that just because it has built a marketing image one way does not mean it really is that. Sprinter is a perfect example of over priced plastic garbage with Terrible customer service and yet they sell them on the MB lots at outrageous prices.
