  1. See if I was a younger person, below 40 I would go with the cruze, but being 45, I tend to like a bit more luxury in life and would go for the Verano. Course you also threw a monkey wrench into this as you now say your wife likes the Encore and you would consider the Terrain. My choice here is that if the wife was to drive this as her daily driver, then AWD Encore and make her happy. Happy Wife, Happy Life! If the auto is for me to drive mostly, then the AWD Terrain, I love the manly butch design. Get the Denali package but have all the chrome bits Black Chromed to go with the Black Diamond paintjob. That would just rock, course I would love to have the DI V6 turbo charged also so it really rocks Typhoon Style!
  2. 3rd party verification and real world driving should be required. Highway, average speed for 30 min = 65mph City driving, must include stop and go for 30 min, average 15mph for 15 min then 25mph for 15 min, then 10mph for 15 min. This is just a quick example of what the real world testing should be on OEM programming. I know from chatting with a few friends, they do game the code that the engine, tranny run on to maximize fuel economy and then take the programming to the best average for reliability, etc. It is getting better that with modern electronics that the coding is not to far off between fuel testing and real world car, but then we would not have 3rd party programs that can give better HP/Torque if the OEM was not so wide spread in their coding of how the engine and tranny work. I think we all agree that EPA needs to either start using 3rd party verification, standardize on fuel economy testing for world wide and if they do not want a 3rd party then test it themselves and stand behind their testing.
  3. Done and Done. True and at the auto show I showed her the Encore. Likes it but does not love it. She saw the pics of the adam that were done and loved the look.
  4. Wife loves SUV's, AWD, The Adam brought over here in AWD fashion would be a cute small CUV. Wife always said one of the domestics needs to build an AWD CUV to compete with Mini.
  5. You got me on your comment, does not match up to the #9 listed above. So what are you trying to say?
  6. Nothing there to buff on the right. Maybe that would be Polish it away!
  7. Cadillac can honor the past with a modern take on fins without the crazyness that went with the old fin days.
  8. Agreed, I am surprised that they actually sold enoughto cover R&D let alone they think they will find more people willing to buy this uggly baby.
  9. Still reminds me of the Ford Murader which was cool but sad. This has a buick butt, Chevy Front and over all looks like they just cobbled parts bin pieces together. I am not really that impressed with the body. The interior is far better and the power train is cool.
  10. How about they actually do real work and testing rather than just write up documents and assume the companies actually test.
  11. Wheel Barrow
  12. What an UGLY car!
  13. I would love them to do a real Full Size Top of the line that has a real name. Agree with all stated here and that Caddy has a rich history to pull a real quality name for.
  14. Would not be the first time Chevy had dual Identities, but I think the cameo is truly covering the new look.
  15. Nice car, but remindes me of what Ford did with Mercury and when they brought out the Maurader. Close but no cigar.
  16. Yea, stay away from their lackluster cars, it will bore you to death.
  17. Nismo Juke IMHO is just UGLY!!!!!!
  18. GM totally screwed this as they could have been the Segment changer and Leader by then taking a baby Duramax and also puttig it in the SUV's. They could still be a segment changer if they brought the 2.9L Baby Duramax to this market in mid to small size CUV's.
  19. Nope no poison here, just reality that hybrids are here to stay. Pure Electric is poison at this time. No real use other than a luxury golf cart for inner city driving.
  20. If the Torque and performance is there, I could go for a Electric auto, but oh wait the range. That is a deal breaker, the charging times and limited range on a charge takes me back to CNG/Petrol auto's. Course if I could get a volt platform that could handle pulling trailer, boat launch duties, etc I could find that appealing. Water Proof electric motors, with enough torque to pull trailers and a generator that runs on CNG or BioDiesel and can cover 500-600 miles at a run. That would do it for me.
  21. i agree, I have no interest in a 8000rpm redline 4 banger producing 300hp at 7500 with 197lbs of torque with a tinny exhaust note. We have proven we can build efficient engines with plenty of torque and hp with low rpm and a deep bass growl for an exhaust note.
  22. Altima has been running with a CVT for a generation now and Honda buyers will buy anything Honda spoon feeds them. I don't think there will be much anti-CVT sentiment out there much longer. I agree with Drew, the lemmings who buy Nissan and Honda will just node their head OK and buy what ever they have been given. They will never question the wisdom of those companies. They drank far too much coolaid.
  23. G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - CheersandGears.com Wednesday, February 13, 2013 So January of 2013, the gov passed the Family and Business Tax Cut Certainty Act of 2012. There are many different benefits for various groups, but the nice focus on this is the tax credits for Alternative Fuels. Taxpayers may claim a 30-percent credit for the cost of installing qualified clean-fuel vehicle refueling property to be used in a trade or business of the taxpayer or installed at the principal residence of the taxpayer.209 The credit may not exceed $30,000 per taxable year per location, in the case of qualified refueling property used in a trade or business and $1,000 per taxable year per location, in the case of qualified refueling property installed on property which is used as a principal residence. You can get all the details starting on page 81 for alternative energy, course you can also find other nice tax breaks too. Check it out and sound off on your thoughts of these incentives. 24. Seems Ocnblu is a premium member again or at least his profile is saying it again. Maybe a time delay due to gremlins.
  25. Good thing GM is self insured, can you imagine the premiums they would have had to pay!
