  1. Totally agree as to why the competition I see with the XT4 is the GLA, X3, Q3, etc.
  2. QUESTION: Does anyone know if the XT4 requires Premium or can run on regular or premium? I noticed in the comparison chart that all the other auto's are stated as Premium fuel required.
  3. You clearly have not talked to the bulk or type of people that are buying JGC. They DO NOT CARE about 0-60 times, they care about if it gets them from point A to B and safely with their tech toys. My son is a perfect example, when he was shopping to replace his Jeep Patriot that he loved but was starting to have issues at 81,000 miles he test drove a JGC with a V8 and loved it, but the cost and gas mileage for commuting to work and doing his kind of active lifestyle did not justify him spending the money when the V6 was fast enough to get on the freeway and merge, roomy for him and his girlfriend and did everything he wanted it to do. The 0 - 60 Time crowd is less than 1% of the population and even smaller among auto enthusiast like here on C&G. As @Cubical-aka-Moltar points out, JGC has the Trackhawk and Trailhawk to deal with those crowds and it does it well. XT4 related and I do admit to being partly to blame for going off into the weeds with full size SUVs, the XT4 will NOT compete against the Compass, Terrain, Equinox or many other CUV's out there. What would be interesting is to see a chart if anyone has the time to dig up a comparison of the XT4 to the X3, GLA, Q3, etc. Yet so many websites say the competition is the Acura RDX, Infiniti QX50, Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes-benz GLC, so a hunting I went and found on the website "The Car Connection the following comparison: Weird, the saved picture is much bigger than what is shown above. Here is the website link: https://www.thecarconnection.com/compare/cadillac_xt4_2019_choices
  4. My 1994 GMC Suburban SLE all cleaned up and ready for the summer.
  5. Potus 45 does not care, he only cares about becoming a dictator of America and increasing his own wealth at everyone else's expense. We all know that Trade Wars never make things better. This is part of the upcoming recession brought to you by the 1% club that does not care. What I worry about is that this is going to bring about a new global caste system. There seems to be more and more that want a global socialist system and more and more of the elite power pack that wants a caste system. Sadly Democracy and freedom is the loser here. When a daughter of a president earns 82 million estimated in a year that she is also supposedly working for the american people, clearly conflicts of interest no longer seem to be an impeachable offense. Our system has become corrupt all the way to the top and this brings about what we now see here in a trade war that will cost many jobs beyond the auto industry. Trickle up reaction is what will happen, as jobs are lost, companies close and we could enter our 3rd great depression since the 2nd great depression of 2007 to 2012. Added note: One of the worlds largest Tech companies is going to consolidate their excessive overlapping storage portfolio to clean house on the best of small, medium, large and Enterprise storage. I estimate they will lay off about 30-40 thousand tech workers as they retire old block storage. These people are going to be out by the end of the year searching for jobs at a time that this Tradewar is killing jobs.
  6. LOL I can imagine you having to climb up and in. I just lift my wife into them all the time, but then she loves sitting up higher. For me even in my lifted suburban I still just slide in, but then I do have side steps for everyone else getting into the suburban. Love the ground clearance and my wife is the one that always tells people they drive like a car as she find them very easy to drive and nothing like what people tend to think of being that old 3 point truck lock to lock turn around in a parking lot. I think @Drew Dowdell Nailed it with his statement: "Their ease of driving far exceeds common expectations. "
  7. I Disagree, it amazes me how many people drive bashed up subcompacts and cannot park them and yet I can put SUVs in places that many people thought would not fit. Driving skill and confidence is what it takes.
  8. Pass, cool car, but pass, many other options that are better out there I think.
  9. I honestly see GM eventually reducing the price on the Bolt and Volt in relation to dropping fed credit. Plus new EV models will help continue to drive the market forwad.
  10. Saw these all the time going to college in Kobe Japan, but mostly I just see the same Skylines running around Seattle. Not much else.
  11. Sweet, not enough comics with hot looking ladies! Very cool, thanks for posting
  12. Can I have the Classico Grande 1500 with Extra Meat Sauce please!
  13. Have they done all the stated maintenance on their H2? Hate to say it but I have had enough experience with the H2 that you do need to follow the service schedule otherwise it can leave you stranded. I also agree with you a newer Tahoe / Suburban would be better even a CPO version. Good to see the GL450 video, yup that can do the same as the Escalade. Now just need to produce it in an ESV version and they will have a competitor to it. Yes I know the GL450 will compete with the standard Escalade, but they do not have an ESV competitor yet.
  14. True but that is also I think due to a superior battery pack and powertrain. That is why the A3 eTron is not doing well, other superior plug-in hybrids.
  15. True not much demand for not a true EV auto. The A3 eTron is like a VOLT but much worse battery pack range and gas mileage. I will be honest that they should have just waited to make a better product. Pure EV mode is only 30 miles and with the gas generator you get 580 miles total of range. It is also a 4 door hatchback which Americans are really not a fan of. As such the low sales numbers. The CUV eTron being a pure EV auto should be different.
  16. Here is Toyota's info on the Century product line from the begining: http://www.toyota-global.com/company/history_of_toyota/75years/vehicle_lineage/car/id60010388/index.html Here is the actual Japanese Toyota website for the car and I have to say that I would easily put this up against the S-class from Mercedes-benz. https://toyota.jp/century/?padid=ag341_tjptop_topmv_century_car The craftsmanship is amazing and I bet it would outlast at a much lower cost of ownership than compared to the S-class. Love it in this wine color 7 different interior color combos that are standard without going custom. Even quality cloth is available.
  17. H2 were Plastic city, but they could handle off road amazingly well and had a ton of room inside. If M-B ever wanted to really play in the full size SUV space, then stop wasting money on the excessive off road that 99.99999% of people never use and build a proper body on frame 3 row full size SUV that can hall 8 people comfortably on road trips and still handle the basic offroad stuff. It is almost as if M-B is afraid to even try and take on GM in the Escalade space. Guess this goes with the same whatever reason they will not attempt to take on GM or Ford with full size Pickups.
  18. ??? Nope Wrong, Never will want an S-class or anything MB makes. They have nothing to compete with the Escalade and before you say it, the G-Wagon even the new finally updated one is still no match to an Escalade! I would take a Hummer H2 over the G-Wagon!
  19. @Drew Dowdell You nailed it, that quiet lazy boy comfort in a luxury cruiser was it 40 yrs ago and now everyone implies they want the ultimate driving machine. I for one love the ultimate driving machine but also love the quiet comfort and I believe you can have both. No reason to not have a auto that can handle when thrown about but also blocks out the exterior world. The Buick Envision does this very well. In fact the more I think about it, the Cadillac XT5 was noisier than my sisters Envision. I want my next auto to handle like my SS but be vault like quiet from the outside world. I wish Cadillac would use the Buick quiet tech on their lineup of auto's plus extra sound deadening material.
  20. That just means you have to lift your ass up rather than sliding in. So True, I remember all the cadillac and Delta 98 interiors my family and relatives had and they were awesome. Suburbans had nice cloth interiors too for the GMC side of the house but nothing like that above.
  21. This totally makes sense as Diesel is a dead duck for most of the first world countries now in regards to perception by folks after the German mess of emission cheating. JLR is right to make this change ASAP.
  22. Cloth is instant warm on a cold morning day and warm on a blistering hot Phoenix Arizona day. I myself love leather but also can understand the comfort of cloth. My 1994 GMC Suburban has cloth seats and it is nice to sit on when you are either freezing or frying outside. But I do dig my Escalade Leather chilled seats.
  23. Not me, Like to play sports, but find watching them boring. If you are a Soccer fan or Football fan for our European members, I wish you all the best for your team to win.
