  1. You pegged me good for the full sized Poncho. Having been to the trans am nationals many times I'm a sucker for 8 lugged cars and those 2+2's http://www.mershons.com/ is where I drool I cant get over the price of their Vairs but really they're a great bargain
  2. AMG does. The CTS-V engine is not hand built, it is built on an assembly line in Silao, Mexico (where they make the Avalanche, Suburban Yukon XL and Escalade ESV/EXT). The Corvette ZR1 has a hand built engine, and I have read the Gran Sport engine is hand built because of the dry sump oil system. Those are built in Michigan. Aside from that, I see the problem as the Corvette engine is not made to be "standard of the world" in noise, vibration and refinement. A V-series Cadillac should be fast, but also refined, it is still a luxury car. So when did AMG become Benz's loss leader? I thought that was Smarts place."A V-series Cadillac should be fast, but also refined, it is still a luxury car." That is why it has the trim/tune that it has. Per GM PowerTrain Overview More than sheer performance, the LSA balances great power with exceptional refinement. Everything from the pistons to the aesthetic engine cover was carefully selected and tuned to deliver quiet performance. An advanced, sixth-generation Eaton supercharger with high-twist four-lobe rotors is a large contributor to the engine's quiet high performance. It enables a broad power band with almost imperceptible operation. GM engineers created 370 different power simulations to optimize the LSA. It has been validated beyond 100,000 miles and has accumulated more than 6,400 hours of dynamometer testing. During testing, it was run more than 270 consecutive hours at wide-open throttle without a failure, and it completed actual and simulated 24-hour track tests. I cede the hand built of every Vette engine my gray matter had failed me on that point though I know of no other Entry brand that hand builds any engine let alone to this level of performance.
  3. I kinda liked them the 2nd model looked quite good they sure were thinking out of the box.
  4. Olds unless the springs are replaced on the strut which would not be necessary the ride height would not change. Springs support shocks/strut cartridges dampen.
  5. Don't forget the W engines that are shared with VW, Audi. Bugatti, and Bently. Today a company needs to share with divisions or it will need to share with other companies. BMW has worked with GM and now is talking to Toyota to share cost on new technologies and parts. Development cost are so high any more the cost need to be spread out as much as they can. This is why even cross town rivals GM and Ford shared funding in the transaxle they co developed. you mean like the V6 that the E, C, SLK, R, ML, GLK, and CLS use that comes from the Sprinter? The Sprinter originally had an inline five cylinder, replaced by the 72 degree V6 that is used in the E-class and S-class (and Jeep for a while). But the engine makes more power in the sedans than it does in a Sprinter. The 3.5 liter gas V6 in all those cars is a 60 degree V. And I never complained about sharing a V6 with Cadillac and Buick/Chevy, because you can tweak the engine for each car. As they do with a CTS and a Traverse, or as Honda or Nissan do. Although they both have 3.5 and 3.7 liter V6s for some differentiation. My complaint was V-series cars sharing an engine with a Chevy. An AMG engine for example is only in an AMG product. The addition of 2 cylinders to the V makes it incapable of being tuned differently in what way and why would the tune need be changed between a CTSv & Corvette? I see that the exterior package cosmetically change and sound deadening but the Vette is the Chevy halo where as CTSv is has or will be the mid level performance Cadillac. The Vette is so over the top for a value brand that it is more than worthy to be under the Caddys bonnet. What other manufactures hand builds every engine in a value brand model?
  6. Had the same Rambler Classic 660 CrossCountry(wagon) twice, Salmon pink no less. I love the American,Scrambler, Marlin, and most all the Mid Sizers plus the later cars except the Paser shame it never got the GM RE I might have forgave the body work.
  7. I'm impressed for sure with those Vids
  8. Camino I'm so happy for you and many a Pro mechanic has made that mistake so your in good company(including me). Enjoy the truck and don't sell it's time to recoup your efforts! Just catching up from hunting
  9. I'm up with it too It looks good so far and Fiat is actually engineering the car for our market not forcing us into their sized cars.
  10. Joe I like that too! ALL The way!
  11. Being unemployed for like forever I've been reluctant to spend any more cash than I must. But I've left my Net10 LG candy bar, I loved the lack of contract , using all celltowers, roll over min.s, and running a week on a charge. I bought old tech but hey it was cheap, HTC Hero Droid from Krogers on sale now for $89. Uses Sprint, I buy a $20 credit service last 90 days. That gets me a whole 100 min or texts(I DON'T TEXT) on the free monthly plan. I also receive loyalty credits for every $100 purchased to the tune of 20 free calls plus they give you credit of 50 pts for each Rx from the Pharmacy even the $4 scripts. The mins roll over as do the free ones. Then I tied it to my Google Talk service and bought the GrooVe IP app($5) that allows you to talk for free using WiFi or data. Cost per month of$6.67. At home I have a new Magic Jack+ and pay $34.95 a mo for 10mb a sec from TW. Yeah I'm cheap but I can do anything I need to and I roll over mins every month and have to use up free mins to keep from losing them (there's a 100 min cap on free mins)

  17. I was at Kroger and saw 1 in the flesh for the first time and was stunned at how good it looked, I was literally floored. NOT a chick car any more. I just went to the build it site and no diesel yet also the turbo hit $30k not a very good value, and that's w/o the auto stick
  18. curds
  19. bomb shell
  20. With ya most of the Euro Vans just suck and look slab sided cheap. We need new or updated designs for our market. Why do we get Euro leftovers all the time We and or China are the largest markets not Europe hell Brazil probably has better designs.
  21. Sorry to hear that they had to go back in but sooooo happy that they got it right finely. Slow and steady and stay the coarse Cort.
  22. "Also in the cards are four-cylinder turbo engines and possibly diesels for the US market. Jaguar is also looking at hybrid powertrains, but Hallmark says this is not a key priority. "They are a very expensive solution and customers are not willing to pay for it." For now Jaguar will use hybrids as a way to improve performance." Kinda an oxymoron double speak don't cha think
  23. Looked almost like there was sand that he hit by not keeping it on the course.
