  1. I think you've tortured me too and THAT is a great colour
  2. Damn hard to get a fugley one past you guys
  3. I'da hit the high idle governor hahaha
  4. 81 Citation XII Would also add 2nd gen Corvair's but Ocn would negate me AMC Marlin's
  5. It might be just a shadow but the darkness between Cyl's 3 & 5 makes me think you should check both block & head for parallel one or both may be warped. Good news is that blocks rarely warp but I've seen my share in my 4.5 years machining and 35 years wrenching. Those two pistons look like they've not been firing also could've been the popping and miss
  6. OK I've been biting my tongue on this one waiting for a job with a n income for toys but... I've run into what looks to be a very nice street condition 73 Chevelle SS and its my FAV color so close to Marina Blue like the Imp. I haven't stopped to talk for fear of a future deal. I sure hope that the economy perks up and I mean SOOOOOOOON!
  7. When I had the engine out of the SS454 P/U I was working on I did most of the lifting with the hood off & radiator out, standing on the sway bar. But you don't have that option right now.
  8. Best of luck Balthy

  10. Yeah from what I've seen lately this is very clean driver and well worth it. My buddy ended up with a 71 Nova at 10K a lil rough but lot's of mechanical updates ala HiPo
  11. At WOT that's all he has also as the tranny won't go to overdrive
  12. When the '91 and up full-size SUVs rolled out. A friend of mine had an '88 GMC Suburban with a good ol' Detriot Diesel under the hood. The 6.5 turbodiesel was available in the '92-99 generation for some amount of time and on the Tahoe also according to the Book of Knowledge. It was (at least in the 2-doors) and they are very, very, rare. As for why GM didn't make the Duramax available in the Suburban, the story I got back then was that they didn't have the production capacity to even meet demand in the pickups - so no diesel for the Suburban. Of course that doesn't excuse the fact that they still haven't managed to do it. Working at the plant that is what I was told both before and after GM took full control. They couldn't build enough, applications are P/U's Express/Savana HD4500-6500(RIP) Van Chassis AM General The plant was updated last year but only to update product not to increase production. They need to open a new plant or reopen an exsisting plant . The BabyMax would be the real answerwith the loss of HD trucks that would be taken up by 2500 Burbs and BabyMax for 1/2 tons.
  13. Just compared to a 1990 3.1L, I would expect quite a bit more as the Cobalt SS turbo was much more like 300lbs and only .4L more
  14. Damn when oh when will GM figure out the CVT mystery. Can it be that hard? Arctic Cat has been doing this forever! If they used one in a 3cyl Ecotec Diesel powered Spark RS OH the mileage
  15. If you mean a new electorate body serving our constitution yeah but scrapping it and starting anew nah. The constitution isn't broke it's the politicians.
  16. 1.there is no replacement for displacement 2. there is no substitute for cubic inches 3.horsepower sells motors, but torque wins races. And yeah teh Hemi heads
  17. Mr. Clean
  18. A compression test would be prudent at this point
  19. Well, since W=mg, where g=Earth's gravitational field strength, its only a interesting distinction _IF_ the ATS is leaving Earth's gravitational well. First Cadillac on Mars? Well GM did help build the Lunar Rover
  20. "given GM's track record w/ compact and subcompact car names, they will probably be renamed for the next generation versions.." Yeah Caviler and Sunfire names didn't last long at all
  21. Really a dumb move the 3 series has the cachet a model name change dilutes the name pool where as a coupe indicator is just an identifier ie 335iC or as a sedan 335iS. Toyo did the same with the Camray/Solara at least the Solara had a different skin. Chevy did it for a different reason with Impala/Monte Carlo that being heritage. If the name is new and doesn't mean anything to the public then don't split body styles into different models unless the name is damaged.
