    OREGON

Yup once again give the government more control, republicans or democrats they all want to do stupid stuff. Why would we want less consumer options and to hurt the aftermarket part industry in Orgegon, what a bunch of bastards, if there were a state to try this why doesn't this suprise me it happend in Orgeon?
  2. Why not? There are enough politics in GM as it as. Why would we want a group of politicans having more control and working on trying to run another company into the ground? Remind me why we need government to "fix it" both democrats and republicans have done such a good job of "fixing" things. Let the market decide all the goverment needs to do is offer tax rebates for people who buy a car from the big three and I would be happy. GM has the tools and the means to make great cars and we are starting to see them, consumers will catch on even if Consumer Reports and the car rags don't. I don't look to government for the solution to GM's problem, if goverment got into bed with GM, they would have another problem. GM this way can get out from under the Union bailout, because the only reason GM got any money thus far is because of the Union do you think one politican from either party really gives a rats-ass about an American company? Think of it this way, democrats hate GM because they build only big SUV/Truck vehicles and make no appealing small cars. (Sure...) Then republicans hate GM because they have a Union that has been choking them for years. Government "helping GM" won't really help and create more problems and loops to jump through in addition to CAFE and O's new state by state emissions standard. So choke the industry in one hand while giving them money, sounds like a good idea eh? I am starting to agree more and more with XP and 68 (scary), who the f*ck needs new cars, if all were going to get is boring 4 cylinder hybrid Prius wanta-be vehicles what is the god damn point? Case in point, I hope for a next generation G8 and Camaro, and a more powerful C7 Corvette along with another new CTS STS/DTS but we'd better flog 'em while we got 'em. Even my fleet of semi-boring six cylinder front drivers will be considered to harmful to the damn Al Gore humpers and they can just stick it. The day I can't hear my cars engine turn-over is the day I die. Yup let Government fix it just like they have with CAFE. Get out from under the Unions, fire all employees and hire them back no Union, sales will suck for a while (they already do, a golden oppertunity) and then GM's stock value rise and get the cost of producing cars in control. Simple. Well maybe not that simple you get the idea.
  3. Not LA. But I like Denver.
  4. Couldn't agree more. You gave me laugh for the day.
  5. Yup and either my son or I will own one. I hope we do get a sixth generation but the earth lovers and CAFE will certainly kill it.
  6. I do feel GM will file chapter 11 and I think it would work out better for them. I have been saying that since uhhhhh November. GM can keep what they want this way and actually have some more fun cars.
  7. Chapter 11 would be a great idea, give the goverment less control over GM. We all know the politicans in Washington want us to have Hybrids and such, give me a break. I want a real car with a real motor. The more freedom Gm has from the goverment the more "fun" products will have to drive.
  8. Needs a little work on the rear end like the classic two and two tail lights and to be toned down some but I like the styling direction its going in. So is this a preview of the C7, to a certain extent? If it is I like what I am seeing.

    Impala

Sounds like it will be EP II LWB and with six cylinder motors, possible AWD, and I doubt an SS powered V8 verison will be out, but with the new SHO you never know. It will come about 2011 I think. The new Fusion will not hurt Mailbu sales that much and the Taurus will be more upmarket and expensive than the current Impala witch really isn't worrying me. Impala sales will take a hit sure and Malibu sales to lesser extent, the only reason to get a Fusion is for the new 2010 Hybrid which is impressive. I am sure GM has something up their sleeve, Ford might have beat them to the battle but GM won't let Ford win the war.
  12. I agree give it to them because we all know Toyota has so much money.
  13. Yup, agree 100 percent.
  14. I hope that isn't right. Anyway as long as dealers have enough to sell and stay on pace. I just hope its not canceled because GM actually can make some money on this car.
  15. The Turds new V8 Scroll to the bottom and it looks like the 5.3 still have more power. Toyota also hopes more people opt for the more efficient V8 versus the hoggish 5.7. Even to a GM fan this is good news Toyota is offering another pussy mid-level motor. Once GM gets the six speed autos in all 5.3's Toyota will really have something to cry about. Interesting news tho.
  16. You'll love it. I love my Dell Vostro 2510 notebook. Great computer.
  17. True if they did put that kind of money into the W-Impala SS you would be suprised what they could do. Just like all the car rags that like the new Cobalt SS Turbo. Considering the economy and how hard it was to get G8's at the start of production I consider it a sucess and I do believe GM is very happy with the G8. It is a great PONTIAC.

    EYE CANDY

93 Cadilac Deville Touring Sedan, red with tan interior, dirty but looked to be in great shape.
  19. Yeah I agree but I still like it.
  20. My dear friend you are the one full of $h!, and yes global warming is a croc of $h! as well. I recall someone saying a group of very smart people actually say the earth is cooling. I think there is a tree that needs hugging in SoCal. What was the G8's serious short comings? I have driven one, and been in many it had no huge short-coming, my only minor problem was the center window switches. As for the LaX did I even bring up the 2005 Buick LaX in my list? I didn't think so, as for the 2010 that car is pure sex, a Buick I would consider, and with a classly interior and great powertrain combos. The Solstice stayed true to an under 20K entry price for the first year, was pretty quick and drove like a dream and looked just like the concept so how is the a shortcoming? Oh wait if it isn't a Toyota Prius or Camry Hybrid it is a short coming right? Bob Lutz helped put passion and great fit in finish back in every GM car, and I bet you couldn't have done a much better job. He is a true car guy and we never totally saw what he could do because of no money. Give me a break he is the reason Pontiac has a few fun cars, the reason the new LaX and great new Enclave look and drive the way they do. The reason Cadillac has a great new CTS and direct injection motors, all happend under his watch. Lutz not only made cars like the 2008 Malibu competitive but classing leading only 4 cylinder 6spd. automatic combo! Ever ridden in a new Malibu or driven one even a base LS it is an impressive car to say the least. Your Lutz bashing its getting old. FOG is right on about Lutz, you clearly forgot the $h! GM was building before he came. I can only judge him on what hit the showroom floor and even though not all of his great product dreams never make it he still was a sucess, I really don't think at GM save for Ed Welburn and maybe Rick there is anyone who gives a $h! about how a car looks and drives. Your idea that Toyota works is fine but Toyota will not work for GM and that is part of the reason GM has had some sucess. Get your head out of your a$$ and smell the coffee. The rest of world realize what Lutz has done for design and fit and finish and you don't. You are prolly the only one on this forum who thinks this so that says something about you not the rest of us.
  21. FOG you make to much common sense. I have been a strong supporter of a mixed FWD/RWD/AWD line-up as far as cars go. The G8 has won rave reviews by the auto press, including the most biased car rags and also has starting winning rave reviews about the new GXP model. On all accounts except sales the G8 has been a sucess, and speaking of which the GP was suppose to be a VOLUME mainstream car and its design only 4 years olds yet a powerful RWD car that gets worse fuel economy and yet they sold nearly as many G8's in a bad economy. If the economy was good that number would be 3 or 4 times that. Interesting I say you make a great case of the G8 and Solstice two cars that actually are what Pontiac is. The new G6 is not exactly what I think a classic Pontiac is but in this day and age it is a good memeber in the family, it is certainly nice looking thanks the MCE and the new six speed 4 cylinder combo.
  22. Well good rebates never hurt.
  23. Point well taken.
  24. DF your in charge of this joint now. I was just posting worthy news. Not starting a right, left game.
