Again...who says that Cadillac cannot be both? Mercedes is doing that exactly... Problem for Cadillac is that when they should have had an Evoq in their line-up, they fudged it up big time with the ELR. They then could have had the Cien in their line-up eventually had they NOT fudged up the ELR. They could had done the Ciel at the same time as the ELR, and if they'd done the Ciel right, then the El Miraj would have been with us too. But chances are they'd flub the Ciel as well... But now...that ship has sailed. The BMW wannabe aspirations have long since passed with folk buying cars. As of NOW...people want old skool Cadillacs. Proof? The Escalade just keeps on steam rolling the competition.... But...if Cadillac embraces their past and they do old skool the right way...then who says Cadillac cant do sports cars? Listen...you do have an honest opinion about why Cadillac flubs it, but you also go overboard with it... Tone it done...stop being so hypocritical...
-
Nope. That is NOT what Cadillac is all about. I guess Cadillac could have a super sport car above the Corvette... but before they do that... they need this Where did you ever get this zany idea that Corvettes are attainable? Top of the line Vettes were ALWAYS expensive... Top of the line Vettes were ALWAYS about being the fastest machines they could be... Top of the line Vettes have always been about state of the art engineering... Stop with this BS you keep on ragging about Corvette, man! You KNOW its not true what you say...so why you say it?

Im gonna telll you a story, a little story about Gloria. Down by the river, there was a girl named Gloria. Gloria seems like she is always on the run. Running after somebody thinking that she'll get him somehow. She needs to slow down because she will start to blow it. She is definitely heading for a breakdown. Gloria is one frustrated woman....she MUST be from Boston!!!

Infiniti News: Infiniti Moves Out of Hong Kong
oldshurst442 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Infiniti
For Cadillac... There is a lot of noise in Detroit. A lot of that white static noise. As much of an arrogant and clueless mindset that is in Silicon Valley, there is just as much of that same arrogant, clueless mindset in Detroit. Cadillac needs to distance itself from bad vibes. It needs to surround itself with good vibes. Returning back to Detroit may not be that answer either... Was NYC that bad of a choice, or was it still the Detroit dinosaur mentality that never accepted Cadillac going to NYC in the first place that hindered that decision? You cant move forward if resistance to change keeps dragging you down...(sound familiar?) Detroit to NYC is only 614.5 miles With the communication technology we got today, that distance is not a problem. I mean, even the engineering stuff, with the 3D software and virtual reality stuff...stuff gets engineered in one corner of the GLOBE and is sent via email with whatever means via the world wide web INSTANTLY to another corner of the GLOBE and other engineers get to view it as if they were there. The interior designs of cars are done this way I believe in that no real mock-up is used that often anymore and all the ergonomics are figured out in this virtual reality world... The designing of parts has been done on this level for a long time. I forget what was the first car to be engineered this way, but there was a car in the 1990s that was ENTIRELY engineered and tested in the VIRTUAL WORLD and its long term defects were computed in the virtual world....so...Cadillac being in NYC for THAT should NOT have been the problem. Cadillac distancing themselves from the FALSE accolades was a reason I believe. Cadillac did not, nor still does not need a bunch of homers high fiving each other over false hopes... Yes, Cadillac builds great cars, and the homers in Detroit SHOULD high five themselves for doing so. But also, that blindness does NOT see what others are doing, because those Detroit Homers ALWAYS thought GM had it going on, and let the German and Japanese luxury makers steal their lunch because of that sad arrogance, and that arrogance also does not see the weakness of the current Cadillac line-up. And that arrogance does not see what the others are doing to stay ahead of the game. Cadillac always seems 1 or 2 steps behind. And its that dinosaur mentality that stops Cadillac from actually LEADING the pack... As far as Infiniti goes...Hong Kong is a country within a country when their homeland is in another country. And Japan and China are not exactly the best of friends. If you think China and the US are not doing good in the foreign relations department lately. HA! China may have a deeep beef with Japan. I think THAT is more of the issue than anything else for Infiniti car sales in Japan. Infiniti being a Japanese car company.... At least Detroit and NYC as far as I could tell, are both in the USofA. -
I could see that happening... I just wished Id seen it sooner and for myself as I serve many of these types of cheapwads in my restaurant. Not necessarily cheapwad Tesla owners, but just cheapwad human disgraces in general.

Id like to say that, I support EVs. Im also a VEGAN myself. I just like meat to be served with my veggies. Its a personal choice. About my fueling habits. My daily driven habits are as follows. I fill up to the brim, and then go as low as possible before I fuel up again. But I have a gasoline station on the way to work and another that is almost right next to the restaurant and another that is very close to my house. And my daily commute is but a 6 mile trip going and another 6 mile trip coming back. But, If I need to travel far, I make sure I have enough to get me to my destination, and then some so if Im stuck in traffic, or there are wild detours (you never know in Montreal) I dont run out of gas. So, more often than not, on long trips, my tank is full full...

Chevrolet News:Chevrolet Debuts 2021 Trailblazer
oldshurst442 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
I could see what you are saying. What everybody else is saying. The first post I made in this thread is actually a serious post as it truly represents of how I feel about yet another CUV, and how I really dont mind the name because Im thankful its not yet another alphanumeric, but Im really down on the fact that we have yet another crossover in the marketplace. The other posts are just made in jest as I like to have fun sometimes. But there is still that element of truth to my posts as yes I troll, but its not full blown trolling as my posts are honest. But yeah, Trailblazer or on the other one, the Blazer, are not fitting names to these new CUVs as they dont fit their historical backround, nor are a good representation of what the actual names stand for in regards to what the new models do... But...Tracker is not a good representation for this new CUV either. No...not because of privacy scandals... But because Tracker also seems to be of an adventurous name...and this new CUV will not be that. Unless we think about GPS tracking devices to track are whereabouts going from Starbucks to Wallmart (this is 2019) to track where our UBER EATS driver is at so we could eat and not starve to death...- 42 replies

That, and...does anybody remember the Tracker anyway? And, what does a Tracker do that is so special? As the former model and as a name. As the vehicle named Tracker, it was a good offroader. This new CUV will be far removed from that. So...not so much different then Trailblazer as a name for it as there are discrepancies with model identities with both names... As a name...maybe in 2019...TRACKER for a vehicle name may not be so good. With all the hacking, spyware, Russian Collusion election tampering, WIKILEAKS/Cambridge Analytica/Facebook privacy scandals, Big Brother keeping an eye on us...Tracker maybe the wrong name for THIS generation...- 42 replies

Chevrolet News:Chevrolet Debuts 2021 Trailblazer
oldshurst442 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
OK...Ill play this game... I get it. Nobody LUVs this name. Chevrolet did not EXPRESS the proper name structure for it. It has the wrong SPARK with some of you. It feels like a KODIAK eating you alive eh? Its like a TOP KICK to the balls, right? It seems Chevrolet VENTURE(D) and TRAVERSE(D) into an AVALANCHE of dog poop. What can we do? Give Chevrolet a CITATION of some sort? What would that accomplish? I know, it does not CAPTIVA(TE) the essence of Chevy's history. I get your passion for the name structure. You folk refuse to take a CAVALIER approach to all of this. Ya'll should form a TASK FORCE, take a BERETTA to it and put it out of its misery. Then take all its parts and ship them back all over the work, to ORLANDO, COLORADO, MALIBU, BEL AIR, MONTE CARLO, CORSICA so we never LUMINA(TE) this garbage ever again. Post your ENDEAVORS (wrong brand) on Facebook or Instagram in a way that rivals a NOVA and become instant CELEBRIT(Y)IES... But alas. There is no SILVER(ADO) linen in this cloud of yours... but a new EQUINOX shall arrive anyway, and its written in COBALT, that this new SUPER SPORT(Y) CUV will forever be known in this EL CAMINO world, that this CUV will forever be known as the TRAILBLAZER!!!!- 42 replies

To all the folk complaining about the name of this little new CUV. Ya'll preferred if it was called the Chevrolet ZX71? Just be glad it has an honest to goodness WORD as a name. As long as its a word or noun or verb that we can find in any language DICTIONARY...we good, dudes!!! But that is this reality that we have come to witness in 2019. Bemoan an actual word as a name for a vehicle when alphanumerics have drowned us, but dont bitch about yet another deadly disease to inflict humanity in the form yet another crossover.- 42 replies

Good question. Ya gotta ask those guys. Because what you observe maybe correct. But seeing as the US has a population of 325 some odd million people and there are 275 million registered vehicles on US roads to which there are at least 200 000 Teslas, on 45 000 miles of interstate highways, Id say that there is a good chance that those Teslas you see on those Superchargers are indeed interstate travelers. Im mean, the interstate highway system was created JUST for that reason, so Americans could travel the continental United States with ease...from one coast to the other. From North to South and every little town, city and state to be connected. This is how the automobile got to be so infused with American culture. Cruising hot city nights, but also family vacations trying to get to Wally world. Its a long way down, the holiday road. And when we are not going on family vacations, we are racing on them. Rolling down the highway, because...LIFE... is a highway. (Canuck rock-n-roll rules! ?)

Yup...all W-Body. You would be correct on the rounded dashboard. This would be the last interior of the W-Body Cutlass Supreme. I didnt like this dash.
