Agreed. I think manufacturers need to work on heavier refreshes to make platforms last longer, their investments. I can't imagine how much money could be saved/profited if they extended a platform for even one additional year after all fixed costs associated to R&D have been amortized.

Hey, at least they weren't paying labor costs that whole time! My assumption is that it is as exaggerated as much as possible. It is probably the number of sales at transaction prices(meaning not the actual cost to the company). I just assume this because news outlets are always pushing something, likely UAW scum pushing the articles to get written.

Controversial! Manual Transmissions are Over-Rated
ccap41 replied to Anthony Fongaro's topic in Opinion
I know it isn't a guarantee but when there are that many offered, it is likely because it is the preferred choice. I also believe that when the fuel is mostly cheaper per country and it's more efficient, it makes the most sense for it to be a popular fuel source. https://autotraveler.ru/en/spravka/fuel-price-in-europe.html#.XbmUMihKiM8 -
Hyundai News:Hyundai Debuts HDC-6 Neptune Truck Concept

The above picture does not insinuate a gap like there is here. It only looks about a foot of a gap in the above picture, to me. In all fairness, the trailer on the above picture appears to be completely over the pairs of wheels as opposed to what the below picture shows. -
Ford and FCA don't have the profit numbers GM does so they might be able to skate by a little easier.

Search any of the manufacturers' sites. Diesel is all over the place still. -

Yep, they need to dump them as soon as possible, along with Ford and FCA.

Hyundai News:Hyundai Develops Machine Learning Cruise Control
ccap41 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Hyundai
Please mansplain how the system is effective without a large portion of the vehicles on the road using it? That's all I stated. -

Your reading comprehension level is dogsh!t. Read the whole thing before jumping to a conclusion. How many times do I have to say that it IS USELESS UNLESS THERE ARE ENOUGH VEHICLES USING IT. -

Hyundai News:Hyundai Develops Machine Learning Cruise Control

It's factual that it is useless unless there are enough vehicles using it. 17% of new vehicles will never cut it. Like I originally said, AGAIN, unless all of the manufacturers get together and all implement it together, it will be damn near useless. -

So back to my original point. There simply aren't anywhere near enough vehicles on the road for this system to be truly effective. I'm not saying the technology is bad or anything. I simply said; -

And your V2V system isn't going to know there may be 5 vehicles in between you and the other V2V vehicle braking. -

That sounds like the auto-brake sensing systems already out there. It wouldn't be the lights triggering it but the distance closing quickly. -

Oh I just threw out a number of vehicles that still wouldn't make it super successful and unrealistic to obtain(50% market share across the board). -

V2V sounds useless unless everybody got together to work on a system for every manufacturer. Even if all GM vehicles had it, it would still be useless as there aren't enough on the roads. (That's not some weird sales dig. There are just too many other manufacturers and nobody has even 50% total market share) -
Mazda Rolls Out The MX-30 EV

I think it looks good and that's it. Too small of a battery, range will be even worse when rated here, why'd they decide to cut it 6 inches short and make it hardly even SUV-sized. I would be ecstatic for my 91 miles or range in the winter!- 14 replies

Yep. Exactly that. I have a buddy who moved to TX a few years ago and he's always been into sporty cars and hes outdoorsy so he wanted/needed a little more utility and bought a GLA45. FWIW, before this he was cross shopping a Taco TRD Pro and a Focus RS.. went with the Pro. 45k is 45k. I know this likely isn't quite in that price range..maybe it is.. I also wouldn't put it past BMW to underrate that 302hp, like they do in pretty well everything. I wouldn't doubt if they were almost identical in a straight line. Obviously the R will be better once you need to stop and/or turn.

Hyundai News:Hyundai to Debut Fuel Cell Semi-Truck Next Week
ccap41 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Hyundai
i definitely did not know their pumps/stations were open to the public. That really is a pretty big difference. I know there is a lot of R&D left before hydrogen can become financially feasible, but I've said it for about 10 years now, I believe hydrogen is the real future. I know it isn't some short 10-15 years away or anything but the unlimited fuel source is the difference maker. Until solar panels, wind, and water generators can 100% fuel the planet(which I don't think will be ever) I don't see electric-only being the forever fuel source.
