Sedan = Four Door Coupe Yes, i know the GL(X) is their SUV/CUV designation. I just meant literal size of vehicle. Those are tiny.
-
Ahhh good to know. I guess I just assumed the A Class was replacing it because two small vehicles seems a bit odd for a luxury company(then add in the GLA(and B..?)).
-
Up 0.5% this month. Yes, overall, down for the year. The CLA that's replaced by the A Class? The only vehicle that fits your criteria is the GLS that'll be brand new by the end of the year or even summer.
-
Positive overall.. Something Ford and GM can't say this period.
-
Has Ford still not reported?
-
Hmmmm.. I'm not loving that. It looks much more Camaro than Corvette. I think I'd really dig that as a Camaro rear fascia.
-
That's what I would have expected. I couldn't imagine anybody has all of that equipment un-defeatable. I don't have anything that is active like lane keep assist or active braking to avoid an accident but I do have whatever cross traffic warning when backing up and it is surprisingly really nice. Just yesterday I was backing out into an ally-like road(not technically an ally but small and narrow) and I was parked next to a shed and could only creep out to even see if anybody was coming and my car let me know there was an F150 barreling down the road before I had any idea there would be anything coming. This and parking lots where there is another large vehicle parked next to you makes this feature surprisingly really nice.
-
Is there any vehicle that can't turn off lane keep assist or auto braking? @Drew Dowdell @William Maley You two could probably answer that with some real-world experience and the most hands-on experience with modern vehicles.. any insight?
-
I can't imagine things like lane-keep assist and active braking aren't just settings you can turn off.
-
Yep, Silverado would be a distant 3rd place to the F150 and Ram. I'd really have to drive and fiddle around with the Ram and F150 to decide which I'd buy(assuming both are optioned and priced the sam, which is pretty difficult in itself to find).
-
Have you seen the 2019 Silverados and Rams?
-
...I wouldn't consider VW as "cheaper stuff"...
-
Yeah... I don't like when companies do things like that.. I know it's probably pretty dang common across the board but I don't like it. It's petty.

Is it me or is it mind boggling that the Tacoma is outselling the Canyonado by ~38,000 units so far this year and they never really slowed down once they came out..?
-
I find it a little odd they have to mention "crew cab" sales being up while the rest of the Silverado and Sierra lines are down.

Cadillac News: More Powerful Cadillac V-Series Get A Name

I sure hope they drop the V as CT5-V Blackwing is a mouthful. CT5 Blackwing sounds good. -

Is it CT5-V Blackwing or CT5 Blackwing? One flows off the tongue better than the other.. -
I think the CTS Coupe is one of the ugliest vehicles of the modern era. It looks so incredibly bad from anywhere but the front. The sedan looks so good but the just quit on the coupe and just "made it work".

I think the new GMC is the best looking half ton. They look great, The Silverado on the other hand though... the ugliest.. -
Volvo News: Armored Volvo XC90 Weighs Nearly 10,000 Pounds
ccap41 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Volvo
And you'll still be screwed because of traffic and TEN THOUSAND POUNDS OF VEHICLE. That's what the armor is for. Yeah, more power is more gooder but even with 1000hp you have to try and bring that thing to a halt at some point and speed is your enemy there. Maybe slow and steady is better. I mean you are in an armored vehicle. -
I'm not JUST talking about the Camaro. Everything gets redone in 3 and 6 years. It isn't to just iron out reliability. It would be to simply make more money and become more stable as a company. The Charger and Challenger don't seem to mind being a decade old. The Challenger continues to outsell the Camaro.

Volvo News: Armored Volvo XC90 Weighs Nearly 10,000 Pounds
ccap41 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Volvo
If you're driving an armored vehicle, you're not in a hurry. 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 cylnders in a 10,000lb vehicle will be slow. -
I don't think it is. The 370z never got a mid cycle refresh. That's why it seems as old as it is because it is straight up 10 years old this year. They used to go that long.. I understand competition has created an atmosphere where automakers feel the need to update as quick as possible so they always have the newest technology and styling on the market. I get that. But, I also always hear how tight margins are and how an economic downturn could kill these companies..again.. Maybe 5 and 10 years is too long.. Maybe 4 and 8 is more appropriate or realistic but 3 and 6 just feels like they're making things tighter than they need to be. I think some of the pricing is because they need to get back every penny as soon as possible because they need to put that into the next model that is only a couple years away. I also strongly believe this would iron out a lot of the reliability issues they all seem to have now. Is that not what Ford and GM are doing now, for the most part. Do you want a brand new vehicle every 6 years or to keep tweaking the old one? That's the biggest difference here.
