Review: 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
My Lincoln does that and it works amazingly. It is very quick to turn them off at the sight of headlights. I've had them turn off for cars 1+ miles ahead of me coming towards me.- 23 replies

It isn't just about how bright they are but where they are projecting the light. they could get a poor rating if they're blinding every vehicle coming towards them, too. It's more than just the drivers' visibility. https://www.iihs.org/topics/headlights In my humble opinion, I'm extremely glad somebody is finally rating headlights. I'm tired of oncoming vehicles with their low beam-HID/LEDs blinding me.- 23 replies

The monochromatic Silerados look good to me. I think this legitimately looks good but pretty much only in this or Trail Boss trim. Everything else looks pretty bad.- 23 replies

Cadillac News: 2020 Cadillac CT6 Makes Big Price Moves

YUP. I'd rather pay less than he did on his 1.6L Fusion on my 2.3 MKC. -

I never realized how stuck-up Olds was about used cars until recently.. I bet he's only lived in new houses as well. -
That seems odd because with low sales you'd think that means low demand as well.. I guess a lot of people just refused to pay MSRP for it. That's a bummer you literally can't fit the Caddy in your driveway.
-
Don't Toyota and Honda give little to no discounts on their stuff? I thought they were always pretty strict on their supply to keep it low so they don't have to throw cash on the hoods to move metal.
-
Uhhh proof of this? Have you been to a GM or Ford lot? Cadillac has 2 or 3 offeres for their entire lineup, including the CTS-V, which those kinds of cars never get discounted. I shouldn't have to show you proof of Ford or Chevy as paying MSRP for either of those brands is insane.
-
Full of sh!t, per usual, on topics like this. *Doesn't like Ford* "The Continental is itty bitty and doesn't fit an adult human" *Loves GM* "XT4 offers plenty of interior space"
-
You mean, like all of the American companies?
-
You exaggerate like none-other.
-
GLS and GLC at -3.1% and -3.5%(YTD) I wouldn't consider huge..
-
Sedan = Four Door Coupe Yes, i know the GL(X) is their SUV/CUV designation. I just meant literal size of vehicle. Those are tiny.
-
Ahhh good to know. I guess I just assumed the A Class was replacing it because two small vehicles seems a bit odd for a luxury company(then add in the GLA(and B..?)).
-
Up 0.5% this month. Yes, overall, down for the year. The CLA that's replaced by the A Class? The only vehicle that fits your criteria is the GLS that'll be brand new by the end of the year or even summer.
-
Positive overall.. Something Ford and GM can't say this period.
-
Has Ford still not reported?
-
Hmmmm.. I'm not loving that. It looks much more Camaro than Corvette. I think I'd really dig that as a Camaro rear fascia.
-
That's what I would have expected. I couldn't imagine anybody has all of that equipment un-defeatable. I don't have anything that is active like lane keep assist or active braking to avoid an accident but I do have whatever cross traffic warning when backing up and it is surprisingly really nice. Just yesterday I was backing out into an ally-like road(not technically an ally but small and narrow) and I was parked next to a shed and could only creep out to even see if anybody was coming and my car let me know there was an F150 barreling down the road before I had any idea there would be anything coming. This and parking lots where there is another large vehicle parked next to you makes this feature surprisingly really nice.
-
Is there any vehicle that can't turn off lane keep assist or auto braking? @Drew Dowdell @William Maley You two could probably answer that with some real-world experience and the most hands-on experience with modern vehicles.. any insight?
-
I can't imagine things like lane-keep assist and active braking aren't just settings you can turn off.
-
Yep, Silverado would be a distant 3rd place to the F150 and Ram. I'd really have to drive and fiddle around with the Ram and F150 to decide which I'd buy(assuming both are optioned and priced the sam, which is pretty difficult in itself to find).

Have you seen the 2019 Silverados and Rams?
