  1. Fair point, I completely forgot about all of those. But, in all fairness, those all could go away and both companies would still thrive off their half tons and HD/SDs. Also, wouldn't that make the reliance on trucks for BOTH companies look worse, not just Ford? Moreso Chevy, because the current Ranger is mostly crap compared to the Colorado/Canyon/Taco/Frontier? I sure hope GM can find a buyer for Chevy, because they don't have a European partner and rely way too heavily on their truck sales.... While their trucks are running the same pushrod engines from 2000. GM relies on old tech as much as Ford or anybody else.
  2. Considering you're using the word "truck" here. Those 2022 totals and percentages are as follows; Total Ford sales: 1,780,978 Total F Series sales: 638,340 F Series percent of total sales: 35.8% Total Chevy sales: 1,518,048 Total Silverado sales: 523,249 F Series percent of total sales: 34.4% Yeah, FORD is the only one reliant on truck sales.. Also, I'm not sure why you're using 2021 data as opposed to the most recent 2022 data that is within your screen shots. It's such a silly argument because if you take away the best selling product from ANY company and they'll be struggling.
  3. Have you lost your marbles? You think they'll have to merge with somebody else, because EV sales are pretty flat across the globe and they're cancelling one plant In Europe? GM doesn't have a plant in Europe and there's currently no plans for one. Does that mean they ought to look for a partner come 2030, too? I think GM will be equally "held back" because they don't have any plans for a European Ultium plant.
  4. The problem is not enough people ARE buying EVs. Otherwise they wouldn't have cancelled the plans for the plant. "The slowdown in Europe's EV market is the biggest cause of the delays. According to the International Energy Agency, the EV market in the EU grew 40 percent annually on average from 2017 to 2019, but growth slowed to 15 percent last year. Volkswagen also said EV orders in Europe fell from 300,000 cars in 2022 to 150,000 this year. But EV battery makers are merely still cautiously optimistic. Although the Turkish plant has been canceled, LGES will still supply Ford with EV batteries from its existing factories."
  5. I mean, they still have the three US plants all still going up.
  6. My wife and I are expecting our first in January and names are where we are completely stumped. We're having a girl but no name we've heard has really stuck out to us yet.
  7. Thank god everybody made the switch to the superior charging infrastructure. One of the biggest holdups in the switch to EVs is the garbage-@ss infrastructure that's not ran by Tesla.
  8. Happy Birthday, @Drew Dowdell!
  9. OUCH, this sucks for Cadillac and all 17 Cadillac XT5 and XT6 owners, PLUS Acadia owners. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2023/10/2024-cadillac-xt5-and-xt6-recalled-for-missing-windshield-adhesive/
  10. What a silly recall. People replace their batteries with batteries shaped differently and Toyota issues a recall for this? Also, this is news to you? "Some replacement 12-volt batteries of the size specified for the subject vehicles have smaller top dimensions than others. If a small-top battery is used for replacement and the hold-down clamp is not tightened correctly, the battery could move when the vehicle is driven with forceful turns. The movement could cause the positive battery terminal to contact the hold-down clamp and short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire."
  11. I freakin HATE the darkness in winter. If i didn't sit next to a window at work, I would only see daylight on Saturdays and Sundays.
  12. I think that's safe to answer today. No, no they are not delivering a $30,000 Equinox EV.
  13. @Davidmay not have said "under" but he made a whole post, gobbling up GM's sauce, stating "starting @ $30,000". So even David read "around" and thought "at". Hmmmmm
  14. On somewhat of a random thought, my local GM dealership has a new Blazer EV RS on their lot. I forgot about this yesterday. because I would have liked to walk around it. I'll have to see if it's still there over the weekend...or anytime that I may remember... https://www.steveschmittauto.com/new/Chevrolet/2024-Chevrolet-Blazer+EV-40d815390a0e0a9a7b473b129d68728c.htm They also have a Hummer EV, with a 25k markup.
  15. I agree. The whole, "you're now getting a bigger battery and more range" thing isn't necessary. It's been proved that 250 miles of range would suffice for nearly everybody on a daily basis. Now, people who were smart and wanted the smaller battery, which would be the most efficient trim because it's the lightest with the smallest wheels, can't get the product. I get most people will get the bigger battery anyway but, the entry price of vehicles is just too high as it is. There are PLENTY of people who buy vehicles in that class who aren't getting fully loaded vehicles.
  16. That's cool but Tesla is already building their 4680 so BMW may have a great product but it's still on the shelf, at this point.
  17. I know the Tesla fanboys didn't want to admit it, but this was just inevitable. There was no way they could sustain a 60% market share when there are a dozen new EVs hitting the streets every year in all sorts of different categories. I don't think Tesla is going away or anything but the market share just wasn't sustainable with everything new coming out.
  18. Yeah, and it's kind of bullsht. They knew 100% what they were doing and I hate that crap. Well, if their Ultium launch thus far is any indication, the product isn't worthy of a 30k tag either, let alone the 100k+ they've gotten for the Hummers.
  19. No, sir. That's on GM for pricing things and making the future pricing claims. David just blindly backs them, because GM.
  20. There was zero other reason to point out your superiority in that comment. So, yes. I did know that. That doesn't matter. They have other trims specifically FOR that. Well, they used to. Now they just charge more for the basic version, too. I don't care about that though and that wasn't even what this was about. It was the bait by GM by throwing out the phrase "AROUND $30,000". You and your favorite claim. You're as bad as FoxNews or CNN with throwing out buzzwords. You know to troll, one has to have intent to troll. I didn't make GM make any claim. I didn't make them make any price changes. I don't think calling them out for their intentional vagueness in any way is trolling. I don't understand how one could not see his hypocrisy when it comes to GM. He's called a CX-9 cramped but a Bolt as roomy?!? I mean, seriously, do you not see that?
  21. That can't continue to happen and benefit the consumer, right? Just because there's more and you're getting more, doesn't mean that fits the bill for this consumer base. This is an EQUINOX, not a Cadillac.
  22. I absolutely do and literally yesterday I pointed out I was wrong on dates. Need me to tag you or do you wanna feel nice and warm with what you feel is a "gotcha moment"?
  23. Perfect for another 5k increase!
  24. Hahaha well Musk as a person is a completely different issue and I can understand not liking the man. I was speaking strictly of the product(s).
