  1. Thank You I think I'm going back to 20% like I had on my Escape. This was the day I got my Escape back from getting tinted. I promise it didn't have any blueish tint to it in person. In IL I can only legally have 35% but that's weak.. I actually need to go back to the eye doc and make it so legally I can have tinted windows. I have pretty sensitive eyes.
  2. Oh I agree that it should be questioned. Without a doubt. But it isn't unheard of that a company uses the wrong length dipstick and there is a recall/tsb on it. Also, I should mention that the manual also states the same as the book. I've come across it before and I go back to the dipstick because customers are stupid but I was just bringing up another point of view on it.
  3. I know... I'm trying to be responsible now so I can play later in life. I only borrowed $6400 so my payments are itty bitty. like $114/month itty bitty. I'll never pay the minimum but it's always nice in case something does come up. First thing is first, TINT! I scheduled an appointment for Monday to have my windows tinted already. I've ALWAYS wanted to buy wheels for a vehicle I've owned but this is the first vehicle I might actually do it as there isn't a whole lot else I want to do to it. I'd like to get the JL Audio stealthbox that replaces the factory 8" sub with a 10" one and I'd mount the amp under the hatch floor near the spare tire so I'd get some bumps but I wouldn't be wasting any space.
  4. What would you follow, a book that you're told has all of the correct quantities and capacities or a dipstick? Which one is wrong? Because I've had it where I've looked up the model and engine, drained, filled, and been off according to the dip stick.. and vise versa.
  5. Well, it took quite awhile for all of the insurance stuff to finalize and for them to cut me a check but I got out of the shet rental Yaris and this past Saturday I picked up something. I would have played the guessing game but I'm pretty sure I've already posted here asking about the car so I didn't think that would work too well.. Well, I bought a 2016 Focus Hatch Titanium. I believe it has everything except a sunroof and their active parking assist. I bought it with 12,811 miles on the clock for 16,000 + TTL. Sync3 rocks so far. WORLDS better than Sync that I had in my Escape. It has basically everything I had in my Escape, which is what I wanted. A couple things it DOESNT have that are very minor annoyances but are still there. The Focus doesn't have an auto dimming rear mirror and it doesn't have lights by each window to turn on and off(reading lights, I believe?) There is one in the middle of the rear two seats and one for the driver/passenger but it's above the center rather than center AND above the windows like my Escape had. Also the transmission, while I don't think it's terrible it definitely has its quirks that you have to learn. I REALLY like how it shifts to 3-6 but 1-2 can be wonky at times. I think I just need to learn it a little more. If you're super light on the throttle you don't notice anything but if you dip in a little more from a stop it gets a little judder-y. Things I like MORE than the Escape... The ride. Cars just ride soooo much better than CUVs. It's smoother and quieter by a long shot. The n/a 4cyl still gets great fuel economy while going 75mph unlike the Escape that seemed to plummet once you pass 60mph. But with that... it's a n/a 4cyl.. I'd lie if I said I didn't miss the torque of the turbo4. so far I've driven about 150 miles of mixed driving and I am averaging 35.7mpg so that rocks. Oh, it also has a backup camera which is pretty badass. It isn't too necessary now but once I get my windows tinted it will come in VARY handy. It also has a heated steering wheel that automatically comes on when I remote start it in the cold, awesome! I bought a dash camera a couple weeks ago waiting for my purchase and I installed it Saturday. I with I had pictures of it but I completely hid the wire and I put it in a spot that I can't see while driving(behind the rear view mirror) as to not distract me. I'll get a few pictures of that as well when I can. These are the only pictures I have at the moment..but here she is!
  6. Then they need to try harder.. try something that Europe and US both like. It seems to work for everybody else.
  7. I see what you mean here. What GM needs to do to me is consilidste brands and actually be more like Ford in the sense that they don't have as many brands already costs around more and more. Why not try and get rid of some of the EU brands and use more Chevy/Buick/GMC OR vise Vera's and use Opel here. Use their own version of OneFord. While tacky, it's effective.
  8. No there really isn't a whole lot of difference in a wagon vs hatch and that's why I was thinking a mid size hatch would sell because wagons just don't over here but hatches seem to do well enough. Yeah I can see what you're talking about on the C pillar. It's never bothered me but I'm also only 5'8" and not 6'6" and if they're going to make a mid sizer they would have to cater more to larger folk. Does anybody here photoshop? I'd love for somebody to chop 8-10 inched off of the Mondeo Wagon just to see what it would look like.
  9. That's about the only different between a wagon and a hatch is the rear overhang.
  10. See those hatchbacks like the Mondeo don't really add much utility to the car outside of a truck. Yes, there is a little more space and versatility but not a whole lot. Why don't companies do a "short wagon" version of wagons and they would then look like a "normal" hatchback? Eliminate the rear overhang and it is no longer a wagon that people seem to be afraid of and is now a hatchback that less are afraid of and like.
  11. The A7 and Panamera are technically hatchbacks but they don't reward the owner with the space of a "conventional" hatchback like a Focus, Mazda3, or Golf. They are "coupes" because that's about all the space behind the driver there is(exaggeration but the sloped roof line leaves the back tighter than the cars footprint would suggest). That sounds like it summed it up perfectly. Heck, I'm just curious what a mid size sedan would look like morphed into a real hatchback(not that A7/Panamera crap).
  12. Agreed. Makes me wonder if those who opt for the 53mpg 6spd will be touching or surpassing 60mpg when cruising at slower speeds like 50-60mph.
  13. Very impressive numbers but I'm surprised there is such a gap from the 6spd to the 9spd on the highway.
  14. Has there ever been a hatch that large that wasn't a wagon or CUV?
  15. That's because hatchbacks freakin' rock. Same size interior plus the flexibility of a much larger vehicle. It sounds like a no-brainer to me.
  16. To be totally honest, I could do most of my lists with all the same class of cars and be completely content. I just love the size and versatility of the C Class, 3/4 Series, Audi 4/5's, Jag XE, ATS, Guilia, IS(much less so than the others). They can be had in coupe, sedan, and convertible form. Hybrids, I4's to twin turbo V8's, 200-500hp and hardcore versions of the already hardcore versions(Black Series and GTS). I would easily take a C63 Sedan, M4 Coupe, XE R-Sport with the 2.0 Diesel and AWD(for some weird reason I'd just want a different drivetrain than the other cars), Gulila Quatrawords, and an S5 'vert for when I feel like being less of a man.
  17. Close, I'm 28. Oh I'm just giving you a hard time, bud. It very well may be garbage quality. I just think it is a very aesthetically pleasing vehicle. Would I buy one today if I had to buy from this class? More than likely, no. I like the C Class the most as it suits my laid back driving style the most. Ohhhhh or the XE... but then we're back into the reliability issue of Jaguar. Maybe they're better than they were 10 years ago but I'd still have to pass for now.
  18. You are absolutely drunk. This is one of the best looking cars on the market right now, including all the sporty coupes and exotics. They NAILED the exterior design, imo.
  19. The 2015 FX4s had the grill factory and I LOVE it! Now the FX4 grille is narrower and uglier, imo. But I love the body on ^ truck. The wheels aren't my thing(sticking out past the body) but that's for another thread.
  20. All three of them in the "right"(wrong) trim have the entire front ends dipped in chrome. Bumpers, grill, door handles, side mirrors, window trim(by far my least favorite one)...
  21. I agree. Black matches any color car whereas gold or blue(Ford) rarely match anything else on the vehicle and, imo, look out of place.
  22. So you disagree with Chevy offering the black bowtie and their "flow through" bowties then? I'm also only saying to offer it, not match the body color of every vehicle they're on. Or offer it through their own aftermarket catalog.
  23. Ford needs to do something about their logo.. They need to start offering a body color background because the blue sticks out like a sore thumb. Same thing with Chevy. I love that they're offering it in black but I think if they did the inside body color it would look way better.
  24. You're one of those guys who still likes CHROME EVERYTHING? Heck, half of the Dodge and Ram lineup are wheel and sticker packages!
