Germany Could Ban 2.8 Million Diesel VWs From Its Roads
ccap41 replied to ccap41's topic in Volkswagen
I've already been seeing web ads for attorneys these past few days. Actually, so have I. -

Germany Could Ban 2.8 Million Diesel VWs From Its Roads
ccap41 replied to ccap41's topic in Volkswagen
Times-a ticking... They better figure something out. -
"The German government has given VW until October 7 to present a viable solution to the "cheat code" diesel cars, or else the company's 2.8 million affected cars are banned from driving on German roads. Germany is coming down hard on its biggest carmaker over the diesel-emissions crisis, giving Volkswagen just over a week to come up with a fix to a problem eight years in the making. Yesterday, VW received a letter from Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority, signed by transport minister Alexander Dobrindt, demanding that it deliver a binding plan and schedule to fix the 11 million "cheat code" diesel cars by October 7. Advertisement - Continue Reading Below If Volkswagen can't present a viable solution by then, according to Dobrindt, the German government would have no choice but to ban the 2.8 million affected cars from driving on that country's roads. Switzerland has already banned affected cars from being sold, new or used, and other countries continue to investigate their options; the U.S. arm of VW issued a stop-sale order on new diesel VWs last week. ..." Now THAT is a headline if you ask me.

Hahaha Ouchy! Part of me feels bad about it, part of me thinks "sneaky, I like the attempt", and part of me things they are just absolutely retarded and deserve every punishment that comes their way.

Spying: Yep, That's the Maserati Levante :Comments
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Maserati
I think it looks pretty sharp. I like. -
By the same token, I can't believe the Lincoln Navigator... aw, forget it. You know I'm a FoMoCo guy but that right there is funny! Hahahahaha OMG that's great!
-
Good god that's a large dog! I love it!!It would literally take dumps the size of my dog. Lol
-
Is that that dark "forest"-like green? If so, that's a super sharp color. I've kind of been loving all of the really dark greens as of late from GM and Ford. Like the Cruze and Silverado/Sierra offer a dark green that I love and then Ford with the Guard on the Mustsnf and F150. Oh, and the Edge, I believe.

Good for them. I guess they can afford to add procedures when you're ready to thrown out a ~$18,000,000,000 fine. Lol

MT Previews '16 Silverado: Steel Going, And Going, And...
ccap41 replied to El Kabong's topic in Industry News
Probably to get people to buy the higher trims. If people test drive and LTZ and love it then hop in a leser trim and don't like it quite as much they might try and justify the added cost. Not a bad strategy, kind of crappy.. but I understand.. They will probably be doing the same with the 10spd when it comes out too then. Only put it in the 6.0. Then the High Country and LTZ while the lower trims have the 8spd. -

ccap41 replied to El Kabong's topic in Industry News
I was disappointed to hear that the 8spd will only be offered on LTZ and High Country trims with the 5.3. I really wanted to see what mpg and performance they could get out of that 5.3 with their 8spd in lighter trims. Other than that, I think the update if the GM twins look great. -
2018 Wrangler Prototype Spotted. Can't Tell The Difference.
ccap41 replied to El Kabong's topic in Industry News
Lol it does look the same. But that's a GOOD thing! That's one thing that makes the Wrangler the Wrangler. Isn't this supposed to be aluminum? I thought I read that awhile ago. -
I won't dispute any of that, at all. I was literally just talking base price.. Either way, I'd still buy the Buick over the V-Dub hands down. Both are chick cars..and both are about 5k more than I think they should be. I could not imagine spending 43k on a small convertible. But this is coming from somebody who doesn't like convertibles much...at all...

First Go back and read the part where the $31,995 is before destination of $865 pushing the price to $32,860. No Back-Up Camera, 17 inch wheels, a 5 Inch Nav unit that looks like some one plastered a 3 year old's Leap Frog on the dash.. Come on. I then love the part if U click on the Asterisk That isn't exactly how pricing works.. You can't just say it starts at a different price..when you add matching options to it. I understand there are varying options on their starting prices but that just gives the customer more options. Yes, most will probably put the options on like the new Buick(which is probabl why it is priced the way it is) but that doesn't mean that the EOS doesn't start at $32,860(with destination) compared to $33,990.

WELCOME! Always good to see new "faces"!
-
Actually its not priced higher than the defunct Eos. In fact, and I don't think anyone bothered to check, the PONTIAC G6 Convertible waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 2007-2009 was coming in at GT 2dr Convertible $29,150/$32,300. I just went to VW's website and the EOS starts at $31,995. I won't get into standard equipment but it does indeed start at $31,995. I agree with the 20's thing.. People don't know what they are getting themselves into with rims that large. A cheap, junk tire will still run north of $200 on 20's. Or I should say, something I wouldn't put on my own vehicle or significant other's vehicle.

That's a sharp little car. Not for me, but still sharp looking. 200hp/206tq sounds like it could be a little bit of fun for a smaller vehicle. What size vehicle is this..? I assumed it was smaller but there really isn't anything on size. Is it more like a conv. Verano, sized?

As far as I know Mercedes is the only one to do it now. I think it looks SUPER sharp. I honestly didn't know that it was a thing already.. Not sure why it went away. Only thing I could think of was regulations for whatever reason.

I agree that they are overpaid.. I was just curious if one shuns the NFL and other professional sports does the same person not watch TV or movies(for critisizing the pay)? At least at the sports level of things the human body is physically getting beat up day in and day out(like Olds said). The percentage of players once retired that are in constant pain (not just football) is incredible. Knees, backs, shoulders..any joint.. I'm not saying they deserve $50,000,000 contracts.. but I can see where they would get paid a very good amount to put their body through that, their life is in the spot light whether they want it or not, same with their family, constant traveling(never seeing said family), etc. And most professional players have no real sense of job security. Most players never make it to a second contract. At the very least at least professional athletes are not physically lazy. Everybody has their niche and some is physical movement and others is studying microbiology and others is brain surgery... I'm also on the side that all politicials should take a 50% pay cut and see who really wants to make this country a better place rather than just reap the benefits... But that's for another day.
