  1. http://www.environmentalhealthnews.org/ehs/newscience/2013/11/diesel-lung-cancer-deaths/ This was the link I was refering to. I believe my prior post's assesment of it wasn't very accurate..sloppy memory..
  2. The lack of a base truck may be due to pricing. This is not a cheap engine anymore due to government regs. I suspect they are holding back on engine price some and adding options to spread out the areas to recoup the profits. I would hate to see how much this thing would cost with no options vs. the gas model. I bet there would be a big gulf in price. Our government has taken a Diesel and made it so difficult to price any more with regulations that it has almost priced the engine out of existence. Even Europe with their tight laws are easier but I suspect the Green Party will make a move to work to kill these engines. It really is a shame. I just love how the news people are going around saying VW may have killed 11,000 people? They leave out many who are effected are often people who smoked themselves into repertory issues too. Lets face it we are not finding bodies in the street and the fact is even with the failing reading the VW engine is cleaner than any Diesel in the last 100 years. To really get ill from these engines you generally have to have a contributing illness or you live upstairs over a truck stop. We are not talking black lung here. If anyone was to die from lung/Diesel issues it would be heavy equipment operators who sit behind a stack, Farmers and or truck drivers. One really needs to keep this in perspective as the media like in other cases fails to report all the info. 11K deaths garners more attention than if you really break it down. I'll defend what that 11,000 people may have come from. I posted a link saying the NOx(correct that if it is wrong.. whatever it is that is harmful from diesels) kills 11,000 people per year. It didn't say anything specific about VW or any one manufacturer just that diesel exhaust IS harmful(if not treated correctly). I'll try and find where I posted it so you can read it. It definitely was not vehicle or manufacturer specific. In all honesty it is coming from all of the HD vehicles out there whether semi trucks or construction equipment. But, the VW's were supposedly clean and they were not that.. I think that is where some of this discrepancy has come from. I bet a couple of Directors of Powertrains got visits from brass lately asking them to dust off those old HCCI plans they had back in 08. I thought either Hyundai or Kia still have an active program around this. I read about it not too long ago.
  3. The more I read on the Model X the more I like it. It does some amazing things.
  4. Sounds like one massive disappointment for anybody with 100k. They better hope nobody who has 100k disposable reads this review because I know it won't make me buy the car. I'd rather buy a GT and do what I want with it myself, have it tuned by who I choose, and pick all of the parts myself. Sorry Shelby, but you guys either shouldn't have sent an unfinished car or made a mistake. I REALLY wanted them to be able to dyno the car with everything they said.. " (Schedule conflicts kept us from dynoing the car during its time with us.)"
  5. Whoa ...go on...
  6. I think all they need by the 7th is a plan though, to make sure things are heading in the correct direction. But I agree with everything you said.
  7. If you're thinking that route it should be the same number of +1.
  8. It sucks they are kind of stuck in the middle of this but it is expected after what VW was pulling over them.
  9. I've already been seeing web ads for attorneys these past few days. Actually, so have I.
  10. The system or people?
  11. ^ Absolutely
  12. Honestly.. I thought it was just a clever way of saying you are sick of the guys who came over from MT. ..maybe it still is..
  13. Hahahaha ..I also didn't know they sold things other than subscriptions..
  14. Times-a ticking... They better figure something out.
  15. "The German government has given VW until October 7 to present a viable solution to the "cheat code" diesel cars, or else the company's 2.8 million affected cars are banned from driving on German roads. Germany is coming down hard on its biggest carmaker over the diesel-emissions crisis, giving Volkswagen just over a week to come up with a fix to a problem eight years in the making. Yesterday, VW received a letter from Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority, signed by transport minister Alexander Dobrindt, demanding that it deliver a binding plan and schedule to fix the 11 million "cheat code" diesel cars by October 7. Advertisement - Continue Reading Below If Volkswagen can't present a viable solution by then, according to Dobrindt, the German government would have no choice but to ban the 2.8 million affected cars from driving on that country's roads. Switzerland has already banned affected cars from being sold, new or used, and other countries continue to investigate their options; the U.S. arm of VW issued a stop-sale order on new diesel VWs last week. ..." Now THAT is a headline if you ask me.
  16. Hahaha Ouchy! Part of me feels bad about it, part of me thinks "sneaky, I like the attempt", and part of me things they are just absolutely retarded and deserve every punishment that comes their way.
  17. I think it looks pretty sharp. I like.
  18. By the same token, I can't believe the Lincoln Navigator... aw, forget it. You know I'm a FoMoCo guy but that right there is funny! Hahahahaha OMG that's great!
  19. Good god that's a large dog! I love it!!It would literally take dumps the size of my dog. Lol
  20. Is that that dark "forest"-like green? If so, that's a super sharp color. I've kind of been loving all of the really dark greens as of late from GM and Ford. Like the Cruze and Silverado/Sierra offer a dark green that I love and then Ford with the Guard on the Mustsnf and F150. Oh, and the Edge, I believe.
  21. Good for them. I guess they can afford to add procedures when you're ready to thrown out a ~$18,000,000,000 fine. Lol
  22. Probably to get people to buy the higher trims. If people test drive and LTZ and love it then hop in a leser trim and don't like it quite as much they might try and justify the added cost. Not a bad strategy, kind of crappy.. but I understand.. They will probably be doing the same with the 10spd when it comes out too then. Only put it in the 6.0. Then the High Country and LTZ while the lower trims have the 8spd.
  23. I was disappointed to hear that the 8spd will only be offered on LTZ and High Country trims with the 5.3. I really wanted to see what mpg and performance they could get out of that 5.3 with their 8spd in lighter trims. Other than that, I think the update if the GM twins look great.
  24. Lol it does look the same. But that's a GOOD thing! That's one thing that makes the Wrangler the Wrangler. Isn't this supposed to be aluminum? I thought I read that awhile ago.
