  1. Semantics because it still broke the record without AWD. That kit, btw, is basically an aero package and it doesn’t matter that it’s not “stock”. It can still be added by Porsche at a Porsche dealership so your attempt to dilute its achievement over the Benz is pretty obvious.
  2. They’ve been marketing against those cars for decades now. Not sure what planet you’ve been living on. You need to stop this obsession of yours where you constantly $h! on cars like the Vette just because it’s still a Chevrolet. That hasn’t mattered since day one the car came out and it matters even less now except to silly little German fanboys who have to find any excuse to tear down a domestic. Sorry, but your game is just old at this point. They won’t go that route because it’s dumb. Not sure what you’re not getting here.
  3. Just stop it. Just about every import there is new by word market standards and even the Chinese know about the Vette and those with the dough won't give two $h!s about Chevrolet being an "economy" brand. Again, GM knows the China market pretty well and much better than you do. No. And thanks for confirming why you are not in marketing.
  4. And? There is big money in China and the rich folks there will swoop up any new Vette in droves regardless of the import tax. Other brands have succeeded like there and so can GM. They know the China market quite well, actually.
  5. Agreed. It should also be noted that I'm not sure that Bowling Green can handle those kind of numbers anyway so unless they add to that plant or something of that nature, those numbers are never going to happen.
  6. I get what your saying and they should see an increase once everything is back to normal with part shortages and such but I do not see it ever hitting 80-100K. Color me surprised if it does, even as good as it is. I agree but I don't think it's too risky, price wise, given the fact that the GT is already expensive as hell lol.
  7. You sure about that? https://www.whichcar.com.au/features/history-of-turbo/amg-new-flat-plane-v8-explained https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/a33298784/mercedes-amg-gt-black-series-flat-plane-crank-twin-turbo-v-8/ In other words, Benz is copying Ferrari as well but its only a issue for SMK because the Vette is copying them (skip the part where Ford has already used the motor in the Mustang) Again, https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/future-cars/a33298784/mercedes-amg-gt-black-series-flat-plane-crank-twin-turbo-v-8/
  8. I hate to agree with him but SMK is right. The Vette has never sold more than mid-30K a year so 80-100k is never going to happen unless they sell them everywhere and not just here and a few select countries. But you are still wrong in saying "always". It would be more accurate to say that they used to suck gas. Thats all I'm saying. So a POS Ferrari is your case study on that engine but not the AMG-GT that ALSO USES IT?
  9. Not exactly true. Over the last two decades, they have routinely gotten mid-20s on the highway. So much context missing here, one doesn’t even know where to begin.
  10. Probably huh? And this assumption is based off of what exactly? Maybe you’re basing that off of the Mercedes AMG-GT and their flat plane V8?
  11. The yellow was a Trans Am, if I recall correctly. I know it was a Pontiac.
  12. The same year Monte Carlo SS comes close but still, no Buick.
  13. Thats kind of my thing. Yes, I was bummed it wasn’t a legit GNX but both of those cars were restored to almost new and there is just something about those in black.
  14. A shame about both the GNs. They were both sharp looking rides but the GNX badging where it doesn’t belong almost kills it.
  15. McLarin 720. And yes, there were some really nice rides. The vintage aqua ‘71 C10 (talked to the owner for a few seconds) was probably my favorite. Just a super clean ride and one of favorite gen pick ups from back in the day.
  16. So I accidentally posted this to the June thread insets of this one and I too lazy to do it all over again here.
  17. A lot of car spotting today. There is a little local car show here every second Saturday a month (during the warm months). Some nice rides out there but I could only get a few pics because I was working at a shop on that very street today. Some more... I also just realized that I posted this on the June thread instead of the July thread. F***! Oh well.
  18. Let me just say that if they manage to give an EV Challenger 500 miles of range, I am selling some organs for it. I only need one kidney.
  19. Well, this is certainly interesting and an about face for some in the Dodge crowd. https://www.yahoo.com/autos/dodge-launch-worlds-first-electric-132500545.html
  20. It’s called “everyone has different tastes”.
  21. A little Soundgarden through a resurrected 5th gen. iPod video.
  22. I have three words for that. Non-sustainable Business Model i.e.—Making zero profit on your actual product for more than a decade is not a sustainable business model long term. Overinflated stocks do not a successful company make so can we just stop the wash, rinse, repeat nature of your defense of them that clearly ignores very important facts like that?
  23. More "quality" from Tesla, this time a few day old $130K Model S Plaid. https://www.yahoo.com/news/brand-tesla-model-plaid-spontaneously-224528567.html
  24. Then you are only reading what you choose to read, a very SMK like move. Exactly my point and I’ve owned four of them so I am not just talking out of my posterior regarding their reliability and long term use.
  25. But Toyota is just ”average” in reliability lol. Listen. I get the hate for them. In the realm of design, latest tech (outside of their hybrid tech), and power trains, they are lacking beyond belief. They are, for the most past, boring as hell and inspire very to no enthusiasm among the “enthusiast” crowd. However, none of that changes the fact that, overall, they are built to last a long long time with minimal expense compared to the competition. Thanks for posting that @David. I did indulge. You’re just not paying to attention to the simple facts. You set the criteria for reliability by stating that too many trips to a dealership for recalls means it is not very reliable. I showed you where it happens more with most domestics than brands like Toyota. You sidestepped that by calling them “no better than average” when that’s clearly not the case. (Again, 9 recalls on ONE trim level GMC to 0 for the maligned Tundra, for example). However, I think David covered nicely on this page with the data above.
