Chevrolet News:Corvette C8 Almost Sold Out Already
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
Back to the C8, it being sold out is definitely not a surprise and it perfectly explains the number of C7s that were still on the lots over the past year. Nows the time to catch a good deal on one if you have that much coin. -

Chevrolet News:Corvette C8 Almost Sold Out Already
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
Agreed. I don’t know how these old men can deal with them on a daily basis. Guess they are in much better shape than me lol. Funny sidestory about that dealership. Right before I left, a salesman asked me to move a $100K Z06 out of the showroom for a delivery to their Surprise dealership. Why couldn’t he do it, you ask? Because the salesman couldn’t drive a stick! It took every ounce of restraint I had NOT to revoke his man card, him being a car salesman and all. It took even more restraint to keep from leaving those back tires on that nice showroom tile when I drove it out. -

I got about 18 miles of wheel time on one last year when I worked at the Chevy dealership. Best part of it was that is was the manual. I was a little concerned initially about the clutch work with 450 HP under the hood but the clutch and stick were buttery smooth. I even managed to not bark the tires once. Having said that, I still wouldn’t own one because getting in and out of that thing (with my bad back) was an absolute pain in the ass. Could not do that everyday. Oops! Sorry. We are over here talking about the C7 on a C8 article. According to at least one person, that is wrong. ? -
Chevrolet News:Corvette C8 Almost Sold Out Already
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
And once again, highlighting the importance of context and simple reading comprehension. Well said. How is pointing out and EV example, after what dfelt and Drew discussed, irrelevant? Answer? It’s not. Again, context and comprehension. See above response regarding the discussion between dfelt and drew. Who would think that there would be talk about the C7 in a discussion about the C8 (please not heavy use of sarcasm)? Now, if he brought up the Zombie Mustang EV, you would have a point but he didn’t so you are wrong. The fact of the matter is that at least dfelt speaks in a positive manner regarding the future while folks like ocnblu just offer up one negative emotionally driven response after another regarding anything to do with EVs. You tell dfelt to provide you proof of him not talking about EVs (which is asinine btw). Show us one EV thread where blu didn’t chime in with his normally trolling nonsense. Again, the fact that you are trying to criticize someone who makes positive posts against someone who speaks nothing but negative posts (even though no one held a gun to his head and forced him to troll EV articles) is absolutely baffling. -

Offer actual proof, not emotionally charged bias, of this scam. And your posting in the introductory form has nothing to do with what I said but then again, maybe it was over your head a bit. -

Is that similar to the “every time there is an EV article, ocnblu has to make yet another nonsensical trolling comment” we see EVERY. STINKING. EV THREAD? I mean if you’re going to talk the talk and get butthurt over folks talking about technology that you find offensive, then walk the walk. Again, at least his comment was related to the car in question which is more than be said for you right now. -
Chevrolet News:Chevrolet Silverado Diesel Gets 33mpg Highway
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
Never asked you to apologize. You also have a backwards view of what is considered “trolling”. The comment you are referring to was not trolling given the fact that the maker of said truck has big EV plans while your “lame ass” remark was the very definition of trolling, like so many of your anti anything to do with EVs history. Just the same old tripe and it’s just that, old. Regarding the actual subject, This is a smart move by GM, from the price to getting top MPGs. One question though. Why oh why doesn’t the smaller diesel Colorado not sport those kind of numbers (as well as being on the pricier end of spectrum as far as Colorado’s how)?- 38 replies

“Don’t just chime in for the sake of it” Like how you just did with your first trolling post? And you wouldn’t know progress if it slapped you upside the head with a solid state battery. Your comment was pure hyperbole and trolling nonsense as always.- 38 replies

I have come across two CT5s and while I still can’t stand the cheap plastic over the back door window, the car does look much better overall in person. What in the actual F? Cheap bastards!

So just do the opposite of what it takes to NOT lose more money as well as alienate your buyers with a bordering illegal bait and switch tactic? Mmmkay. Why would the “best or nothing” need to build its brand image?

Deflection. We are talking about the best or nothing that is so flush with cash. Companies that are so flush with cash don’t lay off people. Maybe the truth of the matter is that Daimler is hurting more than you want to admit.

They'll be fine? Well thats good. Now maybe you can tell that to the 10,000 folks they laid off because they are "fine". Companies who have that kind of cash should not have to lay off but we all know where most of that cash sits and sure as hell isn't in the hands of the average employee at Daimler. Can't disappoint those all important stock holders who contribute jack to Daimlers success.

Chrysler News: Chrysler Voyager To Replace Dodge Grand Caravan
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chrysler
That’s what I thought. I get the Chrysler strategy behind this but abandoning the Caravan seems like a harbinger of things to come for Dodge. Absolutely no new product in the pipeline outside of just talk from FCA. That’s damn near criminal.- 29 replies

Chrysler News: Chrysler Voyager To Replace Dodge Grand Caravan

So, if I’m reading this right, the Voyager will be the same body style as the Pacifica? Why doesn’t FCA just come out and say “We really don’t give two farts about Dodge and it’s survival”?- 29 replies

They are “flush with cash”, while standing in front of the toilet apparently. Now we know why they abounded their “worlds best luxury pick up” plan.

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes X-Class to be Xed Out
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Mercedes-Benz
What a lazy statement. Apple could buy all the German brands but would it mean anything? No and neither would Toyotas ability to hypothetically buy Ford. That’s just lazy talk when your previous arguments haven’t worked. Two things. The domestics will probably never get the mainstream market and the Japanese and Germans will never get the American full size truck market. You call Toyota lazy but at least they have the ability and the means to build their own truck without borrowing someone else’s truck just to watch it turn into yet more vapor ware.- 62 replies

Chevrolet News:2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Reveal
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
There is a video above that shows it stashing in the trunk behind the engine (like an old targa top 914). Way to compare apples to crap handling oranges. Your M5 to Hellcat comparison being even remotely similar to a Vette versus Ferrari/Porsche comparison is laughably off the base. The difference is that the Hellcat only has horsepower and not much else hence why it doesn’t merit a second look by the M5 crowd. However, a Vette that has always performed at the same level (and at times exceeded) as the Germans and Italian models will at least merit a serious look by that crowd because brand snobbery aside, great performance is great performance regardless of brand. Oh and Porsche quality is highly overrated. You also need to read up on some other C8 articles that talk about all the custom options coming to the Vette. -

Chevrolet News:2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Reveal
surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
Nice find. I should have known they’d shoehorn it back there seeing as how that’s how the old 914 Targas and some others have done. One thing that may be a bummer for the Vette crowd is that because it’s mid engine now, the storage space is much more limited. Throw a top in the “trunk” and it becomes even more apparent. I know there’s storage in the front but there is no way it has the same amount of volume as the current gen with its hatch. -

surreal1272 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
Two things. First, you assume that those German and Italian buyers won’t look at the Vette because of its price while I’m willing to bet that more will look at and probably buy this one than you think if they get behind the wheel of it. Second, when the higher performance models come out (and they will), the first point becomes even more relevant. If I was GM, I would market this directly against that Euro Trash (especially the Italians) without ever advertising price or value. Advertise it strictly on it’s driving and performance merits while emphasizing the new look of it.
