Ah, I see I not the only one thinking cars right now... If you're thinking CUV, an Escape might not be a bad choice. Since I get the Ford discount (and last automaker to offer a decent discount as well), I have been looking at a 2018 Escape S (base model) No touch screen, no turbo (you get the 2.5) Looks like again they are going to throw another 4k discount on it in the spring, and since it starts at 23k, you could be looking at 18-19k for a pretty solid and popular trucklet... (thinking with employee discount it might be 17ish-hard to say no to) Both the Malibu and Fusion have really good lease deals, under 230 a month. Slightly used Fusions (14-16) can be found for around 12-14 grand with under 40k miles....quick and easy to pay off.... If anyone can drive a stick, Used Focuses are dirt cheap right now.....

Sadly knowing some Ford Engineers, I would say no. In case we would have issues. Wife tends to get up and go, while I am easier on the gas. We took a hatchback for a decent test drive, and I noticed some issues when I drove it after my wife. The DCTs were more built for freeway driving, not so much city stop and go. It's why the trans is such a fail there.... Which sucks because it is very fun to drive and toss around....

Well, if it looks closer to the blue Focus, it looks like a Mazda 3..... Bigger issues are: -Please tell me it has the 6-8 speed, and NO dual clutch. People already are running from this car in droves because of that... -Built in China? Someplace? Already heard that if it is china, you won't be able to custom order one....... Though I do like the looks of it though....

Well, the one reason-it's getting much harder to keep anything under wraps anymore. Another reason as mentioned is cost- car sales will be on the slide for years-makes spending the money harder to justify..... And as we go more EV and automated-there just is not going to be as many surprises. Changing up the car will not be as often either-just simply do to the fact that most of the money will go into the EV systems themselves... I see much more money being thrown into public transportation in a few years- that is where the money will be.
