Intrepidation

Sorry to hear about it but at least it wasn't serious and at least it was a family member! Our driveway is on a hill, and with 2 big cars and Prizm parked next to each other, it can be tricky/scary when it's covered in snow or ice, especially backing them out. I've had one of the cars slide towards the other more than once, and only just missed grazing them.

Nah, Subaru's are better looking. What I think happened is that Hyundai knocked off the last RX to make the Veracruz, then the Toyota designers knocked off the Veracruz.

I liked the old RX. Especially the interior. The exterior was a nice evolution of the first gen. This looks like they just took the last gen, and Toyotafied it buy adding the latest Japanese fad of bulging, rounded surfaces and headlights. The interior looks like it was based on a child's scribble of an interior. The SRX is warming on me. The styling inside and out is more dynamic than the car it replaces, and the proportions look far better in the live photos. As long as it drives well the AWD version might be desirable to me. Still wish it was based on Sigma though.

Itf it makes you feel better The Torrent has the better looking front end of the two CUVs, but it's still a rebadge, and not enough was done to make it feel like it belonged in the Pontiac stable. Still, better than the G3 though.

I can't agree with that. The new one is hideous, and the interior is a downgrade design wise from the current model.

I agree completely, however I suspect it's offered for the sake of fuel economy.

Out of curiosity, how is it a downgrade in your eyes? Based on looks I think it looks more sophisticated than the current SRX interior.

I don't, it shows of the FWD proportions of the car. It's a Cadillac, it shouldn't look FWD. The proportions look more balanced in the live photos.

The interior photo is the only flattering photo. The rest is terrible. As I said already, the live photos make it look so much better.

With the changing of the guard, so to speak, YellowJacket and myself, who are now in charge of the design competition section of C&G have some changes we'd like to announce. Change #1 Fo the time being we are going to have the sketch and chopping competitions linked togther. By this we mean that they will share a common objective, as opposed to different ones. For example: Both compeitions will focus on designing a new car for flagship model for Buick. This way things will, ideally be more simple for us, and give designers who want to participate but aren't choppers, the ability to sketch their design out, and vise versa. This will begin with the next competitions. Change #2 We will be streamlining the voting system. The current one is a pain to tally up the numbers. From now on instead of voting for first, 2nd, and third, you will simply vote for the one you like most. The entry with the most votes wins. There will still be 2nd and 3rd. We will utilize the site's poll feature to make this simple and intuitive. We hope these changes will help to improve the C&G Design Competitions as we work towards bringing them back to regular working order. Thoughts are welcome.

I have to say, that it looks much better in live photos, and as usual, GM's photography is crap. I still don't like it being based on a FWD architecture, but at least it looks better now. Also that interior is slick.

At that time, the Provoq was thought to be a preview of a new smaller crossover called the BRX, but Cadillac informed us last summer that the "BRX" was actually the all-new SRX. We'll be seeing the new SRX in production form at the Detroit Auto Show, and while automakers often throw the term "all-new" around, in this case it really seems to apply. There is almost nothing carried over to this version of the SRX compared to the old one, although many of the greasy bits are shared with other GM vehicles. The biggest difference going from the Provoq concept to the production SRX is the powertrain. The Provoq used a Volt based E-Flex powertrain with a fuel cell range extender. The SRX is a far more conventional though fully modern luxury crossover. Read all about the details after the jump.

You could restore another `67 GTO and maybe find a non-mangled or not too mangled part from his and put it on the resto car. XD

Eh, well used or a new a flat is a flat. The ignition is the problem the Prizm has had since the master/slave cylinders were replaced, and the timing chains are the only major thing the Intrepid has needed since owning it. It's just bad timing. Oh and the Shadow is unregistered so it wasn't much help. If money was less of an issue I would much prefer spending a total of about $875 to fix all 3 than car payments for one new car. Like I said, just really bad timing, and was like insult to injury after I just lost my cell phone. But oh well, $h! happens. Got the tire fixed, the Prizm will be fixed Monday, and the Intrepid will just sit out the road salt for a bit...lucky it. Oh and Virgin Mobile is sending us a free replacement...which is cool..especially since someone found the phone after the replacement was shipped. On a side note, I knew someone who had some 70's Ford that was also held together with duct tape, couldn't go in reverse, and despite having a a V8, could barely make it up hills.

Well I've always preferred the Sky to the Solstice. I think it's one of if not the best looking roadsters on the market. There's plenty of other cars that aren't roadsters that I'd pick too. The G8 GXP is one of them. So would be the DBS. Biggest problem with the Solstice for me is the bulging headlamps. Hate that on Japanese/Asian cars, it's not better because it's on an American car. I do like the Solstice, but to call it the best looking car out of every car out there is more than a bit of a stretch IMHO.
