  1. ok....
  2. The Z looks much better in person than photos.
  3. I'd like to know how that's possible otherwise I agree 100%.
  4. Nothing? Guess it doesn't matter since it had to be towed. Thanks!
  5. Poor choice of words to use "storied". My bad.
  6. I give the guy major kudos for what he did, don't get me wrong. He should have just hired someone to design what it would look like.
  7. In day 2 of 2009, All of our cars were undriveable. The Intrepid is out until I save the money to replace the timing chains. The Mercury has had a flat for the past few days. Went to use Fix-a-Flat on it and found out the can was frozen. Went to use the Prizm to go get a can from the store and couldn't get it to start. Ignition lock cylinder is somehow not working. Worked fine yesterday, today it wouldn't turn past Accessory. Had to drive the Mercury on a flat to get the tire fixed. Had to have the Prizm towed to hopefully get the ignition fixed. So instead of saving money I'm spending it. Oh, it's going to be a great year.
  8. The Zephyer suffered that fate because of the renaming scheme, but the name that replaced it also feature fast improvements in the powertrain department, as well as AWD being added. So it was somewhat warranted. The Taurs/Sable have poor sales because the product isn't compelling enough. The Rendezvous may have sold well, but again I doubt it had a stellar reputation in terms of style, performance, and desire outside of the people who owned them. The Renezvous would never have been considering against the RX, but the Enclave can. The new name signifies a new, competitive, more upscale vehicle. It can be hard to move nameplates upscale if people are used to thinking of them as lower tier.
  9. Cars change names usually because they either didn't sell well, weren't very good, or some combination of the two. Cars that have a good reputation or sell because of the name, or are looked upon with respect, tend to keep their names. That's why the Civic is still a Civic, the Silverado is still a Silverado, and the Ram is still a Ram.
  10. Ah the Focus, how could I forget that little eyesore?
  11. But even if they don't know the history or meaning of Invicta, it's still far better tha LaCrosse. Invicta name can do two thing the LaCrosse name can't: It can make people who are aware of the nameplate's history take notice and check out the new car wearing the storied name It can raise the collective eyebrow of people who have never heard of it, and are curious The LaCrosse has several strikes against it: It's slang in Quebecois for something inappropriate It's attached to a car that was half-assed... Based on a dated platform Outdated powertrains, especially considering its "premium" intentions Poor driving characteristics Poor proportions Bland styling Bland somewhat cheap interior Poor packaging Should the new car really have that baggage attached to it?
  12. So I went to start the Prizm today. The key turned into the first position, but wouldn't go any further. Attempts to get it to turn further with all 4 keys did nothing. At one point it wouldn't turn at all, now it's back to going to Accessory, but not any further. No idea what's wrong. I used it last night with no problem... Is it possibly due to the cold? Or is the ignition junk and has to be replaced? I hope the former but suspect the latter. v_v
  13. Cobalt LaCrosse Camry Azera Sonota Gallant DTS Optima Corolla Avalon
  14. If we were counting cars around the world all 10 could be found in China no doubt. As for me: Camry Tundra Lucerne Super Matrix F-Series besides the Raptor Versa Pilot Ridgeline Elantra Sebring
  15. Couldn't disgaree more. I like the Challenger for faithfully recreating the `70 version if it was created today. I, and many, many others think it looks superb. I like the Camaro because it took a different design philosophy, that is to say use cues from pas Camaros buy in a more modern overall design.. There is nothing wrong with either. Also, the fact that the Reventon isn't there but the comparatively boring Murcielago brings this list into question.
  16. Many of Chrysler's problems stem from the years of Mercedes butchering the company until little was left. All of the products besides the new Ram suffered from massive cost cutting. This put them in a bad situation from the start. There just hasn't been enough time for them to fix all of the damage done, because it takes time and money to fix or redesign products. At any rate, these assholes seem ready to jump all over Chrysler for saying thank you, but have no problem with the banks being handed over $700 billion. It is America that should be thanking Chrysler, and GM and Ford for helping America though disasters, 911, and of course WWII, on top of all the people they employ allowing those employees to earn a decent living. Yet we America crucifies them for splitting $17 billion (or whatever the final number was) in loans.
  17. I made it in twice! Although I don't think I'm proud to be mentioned the curse... Anyway, Happy New Year one and all, let us hope 2009 brings some good stuff. :
  18. That was fast. Congrats.
  19. Congrats on the Malibu! Definitely the pick of the cars you were considering. Here's to many happy miles with it!
  20. Trust me, I've had a good long, hard look at the Challenger, and I love the way it looks. I love the modern interpretation of the original car. To each his own. Besides, the Murcielago, to me, looks so much less interesting than it's stablemate.
  21. So we've got two Lambos and no mention of the Challenger or Camaro?
