  1. That they'd rather spend more to save the environment through lower emissions and "potentially" less fuel consumption? PS I find all Lexus Hybrid models to be pretty useless but, I couldn't miss the opportunity.
  2. This is an LX or an SE. The lack of chrome rings on the controls, cloth seats, and manual tranny gives it away. Without a look at the outside to see if it is a 4 or 6, I would guess four which for Honda means an even cheaper interior. For example, the last model had a DX which meant everything cheap no chrome, LED gauges were replaced with std. backlights, radio was down graded, interior fabrics were different. LX SE was one step better with LEDs, cloth tthe same as the LX, and better radio. LX had upgraded trim (wood or "pluminum"). EX 4 no nav meant leather and better trim. EX V-6 no nav meant fabric covered A, B, C pillars. EX-NAV meant top of the line trims with all of the afformentioned upgrades. Look for this model to have the same treatments. Simply put, we are panning a cheap interior. And because this is the cheap model and being compared to a BMW, I would say this is success!

    iPhone

The iPhone is exclusive to ATT by contract. There will not be a duplicate under another model number (like Moto) for other carriers.
  4. For all those that doubted (even though I am not happy about it) Tundra is selling this month on pace to 200k this year. I do see an awful lot of them!
  5. Sounds like what they should do on all models std:
  6. As a previous owner of the current generation, this is one great looking car and undoubtedly will be the class leader again.
  7. As a Christian myself: The problem really is that many of US don't understand our own faith before we proclaim it. The problem isn't religion... it is human nature. Don't ignore truth even when its being told by a hipocrite. It doesn't change the fact that it is truth! That being said, I find the attacks on "religion" and associated parishoners as Nazi's offensive. Please stop.
  8. That's just a rumor based on a spy photo taken of a Corvette Blue Devil Mule. It was just a powertrain mule using a suburban chasis...
  9. While I respect your views, I disagree. Toyota, much like the Rams last changeover in '02, bests the segment leaders in engine and transmission offerings. It has the goods. Image is a whole other story that Toyota is working on, look no further than the Toyota add mentioning "real truckers know..." On the 3/4-ton note. I'll agree there are an awful lot of C1500 Chevy's, Tahoes, and Suburbans from previous era's but... the 3/4-ton was a joke. A couple more leaf springs and a detroit desiel built from a 350 was a joke. Chevy knew this since they started offering it. The only other engine option was the 350 gas which was also available in the C1500. Most around these parts through the early 90's bought Ford Internation or Dodge Cummins products. In the heavy hauling (under 1 ton) segment GM lagged. That's why GM debuted the Silverado 2500 much like a half ton with same engines but, a bump in under pinnings THEN released the 2500HD in 2001 with 6.0L, 6.6L (D), and 8.0L offerings. THAT my friend is when GM got serious about that segment. As far as my arguement, GM never has been about machismo in this segment. Ford and lately Dodge have tried to sell trucks like diet supplements. "Faster, Leaner, Beefier." Ford adds touting "6 lag bolts hold our bed on in this F150 [hanging upside down]." Dodge Ram adds "Yeah its got a HEMI." Or Nissan with the Titan running in the desert with an engine strapped in the back. Meanwhile, Chevy adds showing a father and son working the fields when the younger son shows up with a new Silverado and they all wax philosophic on Chevy's. Chevy sells on a solid record and lineage more than a "tough truck" image.
  10. The country, much like this one thread, is divided. Clearly there is a seperation. Whether you want to called it protectionist vs. capitalist or right vs. left or religious vs. non-religious there are TWO distinct sides to each gripe. Not one candidate since Bill Clinton (I am republican, before I get flamed) has united the country with moderation, intelligence and diplomacy. Thanks to a period of years of having a Democratic vs. Republican debate we have found two camps on each issue facing this nation. It does nothing but spur contriversy that Americans, as of late, seem to feed off of more than the issue itself. Americans in general have grown tired of staying involved in REAL issues facing them and their neighbors (take a look at voter apathy). Why? Simple. Being a Republican and for Pro-Choice is a form of taboo... that means that you aren't a "Real" republican. NOT! Moderation is the key. Forget Brittney Spears or a girl from the trailer parks of Texas that married rich and died. We need interest in political topics with a passion to solve them through moderation, give and take. Here are some solutions: 1. Do not form a protectionist economy through tariffs. Short term it would cause further shrinking of the middle and lower class spending power. Think about it, where do most cash strapped people shop... discount stores like Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart and the like. Their products are imported. Instead I offer this idea, tax incentives for corporations that invest in training, hiring, and retaining American citizens. The incentive would need to be large enough to offset the deficit between foreign labor and American labor. Where would the money come from? Welfare. Cut it off. If you want welfare, get a job. Period. 2. Cure the ailing American school system. Fix the mathmatics, physics, and chemistry deficit that so plainly cripples our ability to innovate. Initiate the school vouchure program in every state. In areas where there are few or no alternatives states would be required to oversee a division of the district until an option existed. May the best school system win. Along the same lines, SAT or the like would be manditory for all graduating seniors. A score of 1200 or better would be required. For those who chose not to pursue advanced degrees, vocations will be required to be taught in school. Kids need skill sets. 3. Fire deadbeat parents. You're their neighbor. Call them out on it. Our social mores need to be changed. Instead of calling CPS on a parent who strongly disciplines their child in public, congratulate them for instilling moral conduct in them. Socially shame parents that don't take time to stay involved in their childrens lives and acitivities. Know who your children are, play with, and want to be. Invest in your child, invest in your future. 4. Lastly, educate the public with service announcements, education, and word of mouth. Debt is bad. SAVE SAVE SAVE!!!! We need more private wealth. Buy less, save more, invest in your future. In that order, once done spend moderately. Any additions or suggestions? Go in peace and serve thy neighbor!
  11. Japs... it is a racial slur.
  12. I beg your pardon but, The new Tundra IS being built in Mexico! :AH-HA_wink:
  13. I beg your pardon but, The new Tundra IS being built in Mexico! :AH-HA_wink:
  14. I hate to admit it but, those who are saying that Toyota isn't sellings its Tundra's can calm down. For that matter those who also argue that there isn't availability of all models of the Tundra can calm down too. Here in San Antonio, I have seen at least 3 new Tundra's a day. The dealerships here have the single cab, ext. cab, long and short bed models from base model to TRD. Even if you don't like Toyota, and I DON'T!!! They will outsell the Dodge Ram this year. Mark my words! After all, it is obvious that Toyota set out to out muscle and imitate the "tough truck" image of the Dodge Ram. Their target is real. Increase market share and they aimed squarely at Ram first. Next model, probably the F-150. All that said... GM's twins and all their models still offer a dependable, stylish, and valuable alternative. The mix between creature comforts, powertrain experience, and price point still kept me in the fold. The point EVERYONE needs to hear is this, GM has NEVER been about tough truck image. GM's trucks have always been for the conservative truck user. For the longest time, most who needed a 3/4 ton turned to another manufacturer like Ford or Dodge for the lack of a beefy chasis and disiel engine. While GM is competitive they STILL don't get the tough truck vote or buyer. In my opinion that's why GM has maintained its loyal following more so than other manufacturers.
  15. I am glad to see common sense kicked in at the end of this thread... Toyota built a 1/2 + 1/4 ton truck to bridge a gap and gain a much needed boost in image. They will continue to win until the mags figure this out. Most who have owned half tons for around the house and pleasure type work probably will realize that in most situations all of these trucks will do.
  16. Let us not forget that the GMT-800's were competing with the old F150 and the Dodge Ram from 1992. There shouldn't be any arguement that the 800's were the class leader. 800's were on the road for almost three years with old Ram's and almost 5 with the old F-150. Really, the 900's should be compared to the new Ram and obviously the Ram looses out.
  17. And BTW... who would buy a 4x4 with 20" low profile tires?
  18. Almost true... you can by a Texas Edition Sierra with 18" rims.
  19. I've been getting home too late to take some. I will make a valliant effort tomorrow to post some!

  21. Slate blue ext. cab with dark/light titanium interior. LOVE IT!!! And BTW... the turn signal if tapped (usually happens when someone is lane changing and too lazy to hold the stalk) flashes three times before turning off. Love this new truck! I'll post photos soon...
  22. Are you on crack? Seriously, no one cares about interior quality??? Where do you get that and your comment about the Accord. Seriously... get rid of the bias for a minute. IF you have spent any time in the Camry YOU KNOW that just isn't true. No arguement there. Timex called and wants there center console clock back. --------- And PS Volkswagen built a dynasty on interiors alone. Interiors ARE important.
  23. I went and test drove a 2007 GMC Sierra Z71 SLE2 5.3 w/ AFM this weekend. Looks like I will be ordering one. On to the interesting part... the tards at Edmunds are not noticing lag caused by AFM. It is the transmission. The transmission shifted into neutral when in V4 mode and is gently put back into gear by the torque converter when awakin back to V8 mode. Not even close to 3-2-1 more like... and 1. The truck in whole felt much more capable T/H wise than its predecessor. As an owner of an Acura TSX and an '01 Silverado I complement GM on the power train and overall quality but... the interior will not win any awards. Doesn't bother me at all since I am probably one of the few left that feels that a truck should still be a truck, unrefined and all!!! It is my assumption that part of the 6-speeds design includes a taller gear that will function as a "neutral" for v4 mode. Until then GM handeled it just fine. PS The new ride height in the 900's is a welcomed suprise!
  24. The big MISS in this reporting is that Tow/Haul deprogramms AFM. That's when you need the torque and HP. I am not really THAT concerned but, AFM and T/H make a big difference!!!
