  1. Chalk me up to the WS6 club too... Pontiac IS the GM division that describes me the best at this point in time. I've wanted a WS6 since the first time I saw one and I've, painfully, passed on the opportunity to buy a couple. I'm currently reconsidering though (If I can fit in it to drive it) It has to be a manual as well... No slush box.
  2. Didn't see that one, it is pretty cool.
  3. I'm hoping that the development for hydrogen ICE's is relatively simple when compared to fuel cells and maybe that's why more manufacturers are not keen on the idea yet. Then again, GM and Chrysler are partnered with BMW on alternative fuels, so who knows? I just know that BMW (A few years ago) dedicted themselves to ALWAYS having ICE's because the engines are "crucial to the driving experience". So, at least they are a bright spot in what seems to be developing into a race to eliminate everything but electric propulsion. (You know; still burn the fossil fuels, but burn them for the benefit of the electric industry now and compromise our power grids) I certainly hope I never have to face the reality of not driving an ICE (Which I'm pretty sure I'll always have that choice, but still.)
  4. I don't know if this is an official band page, but you can find the song "Mother Mary" here: myspace.com/thefoxborohottubs And yes, it is the entire line up from Green Day, just under a different name and genre.
  5. Are they salvagable at all? Could he rebuild them? That's sad... I hope he had insurance.
  6. People = $h! It's just a fact of life. I probably would've either 1) ignored him entirely (You can't fix stupid) -or- 2) Lost my job. All depending on what mood I was in. BTW, "People = $h!" by Slipknot is one of my favorite songs.
  7. That's right! I'm a huge fan of the Volt and of consumers having the choice of electric cars... But don't make the mistake of assuming that ALL of us want to drive an appliance.
  8. The trim doesn't even line up on the door.... Atrocious decals.... An ugly Frontier beget this? No surprise. At least the wheels are nice
  9. The only way Detroit will be saved is if it stops living in the shadow of Japan Inc. Therefore, bland is as bland does makes the situation twice as negative.
  10. It is getting major air play now. The band is called The Foxboro Hot Tubs, but it's the same line up as Green Day.
  11. Screw fuel cells... Leave those for the soccer moms. I want a hydrogen ICE... (I know right? Really contributed to you thread... Sorry )
  12. Gotta get me a '59 something... (Buick, Impala, El Camino, Eldorado)
  13. Wow... How underwhelming. Sorry guys, but it just looks VERY bland to me; maybe it's the atrocious color and photography. It gives me a very Subaru Tribeca vibe for some reason. I dunno... It just seems kind of rushed and cobbled looking. The rear almost looks like an afterthought. (Of course, most SUV rears end up in "blandsburg") At least with the weird rear end on the Malibu the designers integrated some nice details. The nose reminds me of the Volt (Probably a purposeful attribute) but it doesn't work well on something with this much surface area. It's just blah... I really hope it doesn't cannibalize any of the Lambdas. As far as ranking, here's my take: 1) Enclave (tie) 1) Outlook (tie) 3) Acadia (But not by much and maybe because it is so common) 4) Traverse
  14. :rotflmao: Ok, why does everyone think this is such a "great accomplishment"? So what? CR wrote some good things about a couple (out of eight divisions) of GM's products. But at the same time, they ranked the Malibu pretty much at the BOTTOM of the pack (compared to the companies that matter/pull major share in the segment anyway) It's the SAME thing CR has done for years... NOTHING has changed. I won't even bring the psychological/sociological aspects of things into the argument here but I will ask you this: considering CR's readership, do any of you for one minute think that those people are going to so much as give the Malibu a chance in the first place? And doubly as much since it is ranked below not one, but 3 of the most popular cars in the readership? They will consider the 4th place of the Malibu as "Just another domestic, er excuse me, 'big 3' (because we all know these people BELIEVE that Toyota & Nissan ARE domestics) car that failed." Therefore, CR is doing the very same thing it has done for years... Promoting it's own agenda, that being selling the most magazines, and campaigning for the companies it supports, those being the very companies it was founded to highlight and to this day does highlight. The icing on the cake (a.k.a. 'sweet' comments towards the Malibu) is just smoke and mirrors. And CR is just another media outlet perpetuating the "good, but not good enough" mantra that might eventually seal the fate of Detroit. (Despite their products being as good and in a lot of ways BETTER than the imports)
  15. You want a railroad car? (Actually, I do. A caboose will do just fine.)
  16. Or... We could invest in alternative energy and actually keep "freedom of choice" in the auto market. I certainly hope your version is wrong. I fine with V6s for most cars, but my cars must have V8 options. Gas is not a concern as I am willing to sacrifice other things in my life. (Like a true car guy would)
  17. There are 2 schools of thought about this. One is the afore mentioned and the other is that Camaro was developed on the cheap (Since Zeta was already earmarked for Austrailia anyway) and as such can be priced accordingly.
  18. I certainly hope the Zeta Lucerne isn't dead... But then again, I guess it'd be easy enough to import the Park Avenue as a halo instead. So we'd have a FWD Lacrosse, FWD Lucerne and RWD Park Avenue (Or whatever they call it)
  19. Yay! A caravan with a generic VW nose! (Much sarcasm intended)
  20. Amen brother! 68, I think the problem is that you're unique in your opinions and strong willed. (That's not a bad thing) It's the same thing I went through back in the day where I alienated myself from 70% of the board. About half will end up accepting you and half of the board will 'try' to make fun of you. Just stick to your guns man. Your opinion is just that and you are entitled to it just as much as the next poster here.
  21. Sure... They're biased in favor of Toyota.
  22. Oh my god... I about pissed myself when I saw this one. :rotflmao:
  23. Well, my reason for existing is Metal (Death/Thrash/Industrial/Heavy/Christian/any variety) and I mean that more literally than most of your know. But I have a variety of other tastes as well. I play the violin, so naturally I like classical. Beethoven is probably my favorite classical 'dude' (No surprise since most people refer to him as the first 'tormented' artist -- direct ties to metal) I also enjoy old country/rockabilly... Cash, Waylon Jennings, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Junior Brown (Not an artist from that era, but he pulls off that style better than any modern artist I've ever seen) I actually was a major country fan in the 80s and 90s, but when it started getting absolutley too pop (like it is now) I transitioned straight into Metal. I LOVE MoTown (The Termptations anyone?) and Disco and I naturally have an afinity for classic/southern rock. (Elvis, Ray Charles, ZZ Top, The Boss, etc.) I like hip-hop as well, but I can't stand to hear someone gloat about 'bitches and 'slades' so I listen to more political and personal artists like Eminem and NWA as opposed to posers like 50 Cent. Although I must admit I do likes me some Ludacris (LOVE his voice) and speaking of awesome voices, the Ying Yang Twins. I also enjoy Techno quite a bit... Found a very cool station on Sirius on night that took metal songs and remixed them with techno; that was orgasmic. Jazz is VERY enjoyable is the atmoshpere is right. When we have parties at our apartment I like to turn on the up lights and play some Jazz. It's really relaxing. Umm... Then some specific artists I like that don't really fall into those categories are; Micheal Jackson, Alanis Morissette (Only 1 or 2 songs -- I hate hippies) Fall Out Boy had that one good song about an arms race or something. A bunch of others I can't think of (This one Irish rock band has an awesome song that is on the tip of my tongue.) Speaking of music... Has anyone heard Green Days latest project, "Mother Mary" via The Foxboro Hot Tubs? I REALLY love that song/sound! It gives me this awesome retro vibe (Kind of the same vibe I get from "Somebody Told Me" by The Killers which is another song I love) At the end of the day though, nothing gets me going like Metal. The darker, the angrier, the harder -- THE BETTER! Metal just has an energy that nothing else can match, especially live. I've always said that 2 things make me happy in this life; driving a powerful american car and being front row in 'the pit' at a good metal show. When I connect with the music and the crowd is going so wild it's dangerous; nothing could be finer.
  24. +1 And on the back it could have the site or something.
