Dodge News: Dodge's Creative Way Of Reducing Demon Markups
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Dodge
Your snake also has its mind addled by the great white north....it is trying to swallow the whole horizon at an astonishing rate of speed... Your priest is needed because the fool in the orange Mustang cries out for God after going 220 miles per hour at the Texas mile... A stock C7 Z06 will do about 170 or 175 at the Texas mile, so this snake puts about 50 miles per hour on that...- 25 replies

Dodge News: Dodge's Creative Way Of Reducing Demon Markups
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Dodge
Alas, my Canadian friend, your first girlfriend told me that you were like the new Demon in your prime...both of you were good for about 9 seconds of excitement and then it was all done... Even though this is a Canadian bird it is all about the red white and blue, baby! Or if you prefer it white hot in the great white north...- 25 replies

Dodge News: Dodge's Creative Way Of Reducing Demon Markups

You have that as wrong my Canadian friend, the June frost has addled your brain as always in the great white uninhabited north. This smells of libertarian ism and anarchy, white hot rebellion against authority! ...and it is time you evil cannuks abandon your socialist ways and join the rebellion... Since Cmicassa was in the service...he can just enlist... Smoking white hot rebellion...- 25 replies

How do you separate preference from bias?

Yes, she strongly prefers it, as does my 21 year old daughter! -

How do you separate preference from bias?

I love it when muscle cars are actually driven. I used to drive my 55 Chevy everywhere, even to pick up the babysitter for the kids... -

We looked at several cars, but in the end what we really kind of wanted was actually a BRZ or FRS/86. My wife and I put nimble handling at the top of the list...but needed a family car. We raised 5 kids and for several years (about 5) we had a Miata and Cooper S as our only cars. I think we will see a GTI in my driveway at some point, it is at the top of my bucket list.... My 24 year old son is doing very well at his job, he currently owns a Lexus SC 300 and Acura TL....both of which he has paid off. He is looking at the Porsche Cayman (used) as his next car...not sure if he will keep the Acura or sell it to buy the Cayman... I could see a (used) Cayman in my future. Going to hold off on the FRS/BRZ a bit as my 21 year old daughter just graduated from college and wants one...and I don't want to steal her thunder...she is fine if we both own one, she just wants to own hers first... She also wants World Rally Blue so I would get maybe black or carbon grey fro the BRZ if I wind up with one. Plan on doing autocross again, so I will probably modify my Cooper S at some point to handle better. Anyhoo....Love the Fiesta ST but I just like the chassis tuning in the GTI/BRZ/FRS/ Miata/Cayman better, so those would be my choices. Actually i would prefer a Lotus Caterham 7 or an Elise....but not sure that is practical in Ohio weather! Although we do have locals that drive Cobra Replicas year round... -

See, for me it is all about the driving experience. This pic is via Frisky dingo of an R line beetle, the car I just bought is an R line Beetle in this color but it is not my particular car. -
If I could I would move to the upper peninsula or perhaps Duluth Minnesota. I love lake Superior, and I would put up with 8 months of cold to have fewer people around, nature, water, and the like.

Ironically, this is the perfect song for today....

You might find a long career for your beetle if you can sort out its teething issues. Pretty much buy 93 as both of my Miatas, my Cooper S, my Chevelle, my 55 Chevy...all ran on it...

See, for me there is just something about Ford itself that kind of gets under my skin in a bad sort of way and I wish i knew what it was. I have gotten rather efficient at talking friends and family out of buying them. I actually like different viewpoints as it gives me a chance to learn. There is no expectation that anyone else has my interests or tastes in cars... -
I think they got some things sorted out as time went on... I will be happy with whatever you get. SI would be a darned fine choice also. Only problem for us (other than a lack of a test drive) was that local dealers were only getting coupes and the Civic coupe has less backs eat room than a BRZ/FRS.

That has not stopped them before....I love German cars but for some reason cannot warm up to Benz.

Honda News: Honda Teases Us with the 2018 Accord
A Horse With No Name replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Honda
For me it is more a philosophical thing. Honda still builds really nice cars, but I feel like they are making a second best effort. With the new RAV 4, the new Camry, the Prius, the Tacoma, and the 86, I feel like Toyota is trying to bring its A game. -
...or change the story and embellish it and re tell it...often one can make the story much more interesting without people even knowing it...

It's still a really nice choice. My friend Ron and his wife own one and are very happy with it. -
So I did replace the Jetta I sold back to VW with a CPO 2014 Beetle R line, which essentially has the MK 6 GTI power train and quite a few other up grades. My wife kind of fell in love with it as did my 16 year old and 21 year old daughter. I will post up some pics later. I think I will just keep driving my 2003 R53 Cooper S for quite a while as it is paid for and running really well. I am probably going to modify the Cooper at some point and start running autocross again. Beetle is denim blue which is not a common VW color and very unusual for an R line as most of the R lines were black, red, or white.
