2013 Ford Fusion 2.5 SE 1.6 Ecoboost 6MT
I have had the same thought. They could probably kill the Malibu and keep the Impala. The Impala is world class and the current Malibu is currently Camry/Altima level at best. Ford did knock it out of the park with the current Fusion, my Ford Touch is probably a big reason I will buy a Civic SI or GTI when I trade the Miata in. But I still lust after the Focus ST.

MAY 2014 CAR SPOTTERS THREAD HERE!
Red 64 Galaxie 500 two door, sweet, rolling north on US 23. Red, yellow, and a very rare factory purple SSR, all out on the streets headed places. A couple of nice old Air cooled Beetles, still looking like they were seeing some regular use.

Volvo News: Volvo's U.S. CEO Says New Products Are Coming
Toyota and Honda were once niche players, and to an extent VW group/Audi still is. But VW is at least doing some of the right things to stay here, and Toyota and Honda obviously did the right things to build sales. Volvo, methinks, is going the other way. 2025 might be optimistic.....I see more Teslas on the road than Volvos here in Ohio. Probably because they sell almost zero of the newer ones, and the Ohio tin worm has destroyed most of the older ones.

Blu should be happy....
The FJ cruiser shows that Asian engineering is not always better. There are Asian, American, and European cars I love-I get so sick of people saying all American cars are junk, or all German cars are junk, etc. Toyota and Honda have their fair share of issues, as do Mazda and Nissan. Suburu is actually the best quality Asian car maker IMHO, GM is best in North America, and Mercedes Benz is the best European builder. I would say while Toyotas are often reliable, their design, handling, and overall feel of their products really leaves something to be desired. BMW seems to be the most issue prone of the Europeans, while Chryco has been lagging behind in the US since before I was born. Back in 57 Chryco had a horrendous lot of problems with the 57 redesign....relatively speaking, they haven't caught up to Ford and GM since the 50's. ....and can you imagine the embarrassment of Toyota if they had to buy back all fo the FJ cruisers after they bought back a blue million Tacomas with frame issues? Time to buy stock in a company that makes car crushing equipment, for sure.

They need better marketing. They are rapidly becoming as invisible as Mitsu in this market.

m.leftlanenews.com/nissan-recalls-2014-leaf-over-missing-welds.html Nissan has issued a recall for a limited number of 2014 Leaf vehicles. Some of the hatchbacks may have left the factory without proper welds on the front structural member assembly, compromising the integrity of the vehicle. The company suggests the defect may not be noticed unless the vehicle is involved in a crash. Engineers believe the missing welds run afoul of federal safety requirements related to occupant crash protection. The problem appears to be limited to Leaf units that were manufactured at Nissan's Smyrna, Tennessee, plant between February 28 and March 12 of this year. Owners will be asked to bring in their vehicles for inspection by Nissan service personnel. If any of six spot welds appear to be missing from the structural member, the entire vehicle will be replaced with a new Leaf. Seems like a little fantasy fulfillment for our small truck loving friend....

Chrysler News: Fiat Chrysler Warms Up To The Idea Of Hybrids
When you consider how much better a base Sonic or Fiesta is than the 500, you realize how far behind the curve Chryco Fiat really is. GM sells more Corvettes in one year than Viper has sold its whole production. Impala is orders of magnitude better than Charger, and even better than 300 in a lot of ways. In my mind, Chryco/Fiat is destined to be the absolute bottom feeder in the automotive world, sucking in every brand they offer other than Jeep.
