  1. Gee...we could get a C and G rivalry going here as to who owns the rustiest and rattyest Mopar on Cheers and Gears...your dad with the 68 or Dodgefan with the Shadow. If I come and visit promise your dad I won't sneeze around his car... Seriously though...That Camaro is awesome! Thanks for the pics. Chris
  2. Unlike the stock 77 or 78 TA you could whip and chain the MINI Cooper S in that leather collar..... hmmmm.... Chris
  3. It's funny about the back seat room, because I take my kids with me when I look at cars. "Gee Dad...plenty of room in the back of this Camaro/Challenger/MINI Cooper S/"or whatever cool car we're looking at. But a Grand Caravan...not enough room in this dad...we need to go back and look at the Camaro and the MINI Cooper S again...and could we see the GTI and the Cobalt SS again??? Chris
  4. Exactly what I had in mind for you. I hereby wish you a 19 year old version of Sally Fields for the front passenger seat.
  5. I think females are as moved by car design as men are in some ways. they just want good design to be moved by... My mother is a car fan, my daughters like cars...but they want cars with style. Mom still remembers my gradfathers 57 Olds ragtop fondly. Chris
  6. ...and I was saying what about waiting for JUST THE RIGH DAMN CAR...and you found it. SWEET! Chris
  7. I would have knocked the guy on his ass..but I figured getting arrested wouldn't help things. Chris
  8. I've developed the same alergy. Chris
  9. Who would have ever thought a pro golfer would have trouble "putting it in the wrong hole?" Chris
  10. She's really THAT rusty? Chris
  11. ...and let me add sorry for going off topic...but right now I've got more faith in GM than I've had in twenty years. Chris
  12. Somehow...I don't think the folks at Fiat have anything like the Aveo in the works for us. Chris
  13. GM4life...yeah the tires are mucho dinero, but what a car. The one I looked at today was that metallic orange, am RS V6 autotrajic. SWEET! Even better, while I was sitting in the Malibu, thinking about how cool it would be to own...I started listening to the deals being done around me. 3...yes three...deals at the same time people trading Toyota for GM. Corolla for a Cobalt, Camry for a Malibu, and a Tundra for a Silverado. THAT made my day...esp. listening to the couple trading the Tundra tell the salesperson what a crappy truck it was compared to their previous Silverado. Sales guy was good though because the Tundra couple almost walked to buy a Wrangler...but he kept them in the dealership and sold the Silverado. Chris
  14. Oh, and as a fan of wood and things (esp furniture) built from it...the lumber you get anywhere is more or less Junk. I ahve found a few good places for wood...but like you said, damn, you pay for it. Chris
  15. While we differ politically...I know we are both sick to death of where this nation is headed and what it is doing. Had a really good talk with Jim, my son's Boy Scout troup leader/Scoutmaster last night when I dropped my son for an over night event. He and I agree about 85% even though he is very conservative... We need to get back to building things here in the US...and doing it well. We have gotten too damned sloppy with everything. And as I said in another thread, a huge part of the problem with our government is that our voting electorate has gotten sloppy and lazy as well. As far as your truck...I can't believe the mechanic was such a dick about not being able to charge full price for the pully's. Got to thinking about that today and I was actually kind of pissed about the whole thing myself. Chris
  16. Having just comke back from Dave Gill Chevrolet where I got to check out (but didn't test drive) a new Camaro and Malibu LTZ first hand...it is getting easier to ahve faith in GM all of the time. Chris
  17. None...and I've noticed a difference in every car I've ever done it with...usually starts running a little better right away. But do yourself a favor and get a better filter than a FRAM. Chris
  18. 35% to me is fair...because I have to warranty my labor if something breaks. And given the crappy quality of parts we get from China, things are going to break. Chris
  19. loki....THAT WAS FANTASTIC! Thanks for posting that. Chris
  20. Agree with you there, 'blu. Agree with you 100%. Chris
  21. I certainly don't mind competition...it's hard to imagine a car like the fusion Hybrid being built without the Prius being sold for exaple. And there are lots of foreign sports cars, from Vintage British stuff to modern Porsche's...that I'm glad are sold here. Again, hard to imagine the Z06 without competition from Porsche Ferrari, et al. But we need to bring balance to our nation, and jobs back to out nation. So I would agree with some sort of protectionist sentiment. Just not sure how/what would be the best way to go about it. Chris
  22. I'm with 'bee on this one. Chris
  23. Interesting note from the discussion on corvette mills...those who want an OHC performance mill from GM can go buy a new Camaro...hmmm....or a V6 G8...or if the Impala SS RWD Holden car gets sold here....hmmm...both pushrods and OHC. XLR-V and smk still won't be happy. Amazing that they will miss out on not one but two awesome cars because of their anti GM bias. Oh well...I'm sure the general will find lots of happy, happy buyers for its cars. Chris
  24. I don't begrudge a profit for anyone, as the garage that will have to fix your truck will have to warranty the work on the pulley's if the pully's go bad...however...I charge a straight 35% markup for all of my custumers (no fav's, I treat everyone the same) which I think is reasonable. Chris
  25. Amazing how you can make a living in down times when your honest and fair and do good work, isn't it baltahzar... Good luck getting everything done!
