  1. Hyper, I agree with you but... I don't think the regular HHR is a turd. But the HHR SS and Cobalt SS/TC are simply amazing. Chris
  2. I doubt it was 24K a car. When gas hits $5 a gallon in a couple of years, people may be sorry they didn't clunk that old explorer. Chris
  3. Knight....would you quit this before I get tempted myself??? Chris
  4. Honestly...I would go with the HHR and never look back at all. Why: 1. You know my love for retro cars, and the HHR is IMHO by an order of magnitude the best looking of the three. 2. You and Alfred like to go to cultural things in Pittsburg, why not get something easy to park? 3. Parts will be stupid cheap for them, as chevy has built a blue million. 4. I love the ecotech as a drivetrain, and am thinking of getting a Cobalt SS/TC as an autocross car. AMAZING powertrain. 5. Best fuel economy. 6. IMHO most user friendly interior 7. Best chasis tuning of the bunch with the HHR. LOVE the way that car handles. You know of my love for sports cars...as far as normal cars go...the HHR is about as close to NIRVANA as your going to get. 8. already flexfuel capable. 9. Lower laoding deck ht (rear cargo hatch) will make loading the thing much easier at Home Depot or wherever. I'm 44...your what...maybe 32? TRUST ME...your back will thank you for the HHR in a couple of years. 10. IMHO the HHR has the best over the road highway manners of the three. Avi tends to "wallow slightly" Rainier is slightly soft for my tastes...but the HHR is a great highway car. Going to stop before I drop 12 grand on one this afternoon. But I LOVE the HHR. Didn't I joke with you once in a post about needing an HHR panel for you and Alfred? this may indeed be a good time to get one. Chris
  5. On the other hand, if you do this...good for you. I've owned Chevelles but never a 70-72 Cutty, one of the best ever GM designs IMHO. Like I said, I regret not having a Bird when they were around cheap in good condition. People are not fixing these up en masse like Chevelles, GTO's, Cutty's, Camaro's, Mustangs, Chargers, ETC. Not that people aren't restoring them but...if you want it get it now. Chris
  6. Good luck on the new 'bird if you get it...sorry I was late getting back to you on your wrecked bird. Tried to save it...but looks like it's hurt pretty bad. I've always liked those 70's birds, and regret not owning one when I was younger. Congrats on being as nuts as the rest of us! Chris
  7. A very quiet evening with my family. Cuddle up with my wife on the couch and rent a movie... Probably fix my wife something nice for dinner. Chris
  8. An automatic would possibly be a handicap on a racetrack, depending on the track. Some day I am going to hit the stupid lotto and buy a CTS-V. But I'd have to play the lottery first. To me, the CTS-V is one of the hottest cars on the planet, period. Chris
  9. Good luck on the Pirelli's, Sir. Saw a beautiful bonneville in traffic tonight...it was a non GM color, kind of a modernish grey similar to the color that was on Elanor (the mustang) in Gone in 60 Seconds. Running an aftermarket alloy wheel that really fit the car...lowered slightly. Looked HOT! Thought of you and your Bonnie when I saw it. Chris
  10. I know it will eventually go... Just hope it finds a good home, as I will be unable to adopt it myself. Chris
  11. To me this car is just spectacular. Glad to see GM get crtedit for doing something right! Chris
  12. Saw two really sweet looking 70-72 Skylark two door hardtops, one forrest green, one kind of a reddish metallic/bronze color. Made me miss cars of the 68-72 GM midsize era. God I miss those cars! Also, friend of a friend is restoring a Morgan three wheeler. Talk about an ODD car! Chris
  13. You need the evening with Albert. On my birthday...I want family. Was thinking a nice breakfast/brunch followed by ??? Let's see what we can put together. Will also depend on my "on call" schedule. Chris
  14. Think Philly would be a muich better place for you to meet with Z06. Chris
  15. Philly might be better for them. Would love to have 'blu and 'camino for Drew's Birthday! Chris
  16. Glad to see you doing your own work! Good luck with the Jeep Rob...and have fun with it. Chris
  17. I do want to hook up and meet with you... If nothing else...Pittsburg is not a whole lot further than Cleveland. Both Dave and Andy have something else that weekend IIRC. So maybe we have a birthday bash for Drew in Pittsburg? Chris
  18. I've seen 20 year old guys in a pack of 65 drivers at SCCA races, and the 20 year old is out front leading...and a lot of the guys he's in front of are 40, 50, 60 years old. All I am saying is that Heinricy is top level talent. The CTS actually looks better to me after this test, because it shows that a less than perfect driver (Lutz) can still get an awesome lap time out of it. A fast car is no good if it takes a pro driver to get the most of it. Chris
  19. Sweet! Really pulling for the new GM. Chris
  20. Heinricy has won several SCCA championships. Going to a drivers school will NOT make you as good as Heinricy. AMAZED that Lutz was that close. M3/CTS-V- Very close cars performance wise but... One of the guys who I do electrical work for is a salesman at the local BMW dealer. Let's just say overall...having experienced both the CTS-V and the M-3...I would strongly prefer the CTS-V.
  21. An intercooler costs money. How much extra do you want to pay for the car? 95-99% of the drivers would never have needed the extra performance. The GP GTP was not as much of a pure performance car as the CTS-V. Chris
  22. I'd really like to see you keep the wagon. Having seen it in person...it's just really too nice and too unique a piece to sell, IMHO. Chris
  23. Wow...Alfa Montreal, Astin Martin, Lotus... And a Volvo! Cool cars in there! Chris
