  1. I drove the wheels off of my 66 Mustang Fastback. Drove the car over 700 miles the week before I sold it... Drove my 71 Chevelle the same way... Drove my 55 Chevrolet HARD...and it was 50 years old... Older cars can be a lot of fun. Chris
  2. Maybe... Stiffer front and rear swaybars, better shocks (Koni's perhaps), summer tires, Mobil 1 or Royal Purple in everything, cold air intake....That would be about it for me, methinks. These cars were pretty dialed in from the factory. Then again, 6 cyl Birds and Camaros are now stupid cheap. Nice cars under 80k...I've seen sell for 3K or so.... Chris
  3. Few interesting Cash for Clunkers cars coming through the local Pick-N Pull. Cadillac Allante Camaro LT-1, black on black, nice shape...pink paint all over the locked up LT-1. Two nice Aurora's and a really clean Navy Blue Roadmaster. Two Mustang GT convertibles, and 89 and a 95. Interesting, the 89 had aftermarket aluminium heads on it when it went in...went back to look and the heads were gone....hmmm. Interesting how the motors locked up...couldn't budge the lifters in the Mustang motor. Also interesting how quickly some of this stuff is picked clean. Also a prfoundly rough 3rd gen Firebird marked CFC...but that bird had to have been dead for about ten years. Chris
  4. Now listening to Type O Negative, a great band my teenage son introduced me to. Sadly, he's also got me hooked on Korn and Slipknot for some odd reason. People have to really wonder when they see a middle aged guy driving a convertible around in November with the top down and Korn on the stereo.... Chris
  5. Those of us who are redneck need to be a little bit proud of our heritage if you ask me. Now pardon me while I go piss in the front yard...hope I miss the pink flamingo. Chris
  6. Yes, but it had aftermarket wheels and was lowered a bit. Looked just sooooo gooood. That car just wears that color like the models on the Pirelli calender wear their swimsuits.... WOW...what a good looking car! Looks good in maroon also. When I bought my Miata there was one in maroon (same style/year as the one above) freshly waxed and detailed. That looked great also. Chris
  7. I really enjoy time with my wife also... But it's going to be a long time until my youngest is away at college. Christina is only 8 years old so... Figure another ten years until the Mrs. and I ahve the house to ourselves. I'm sure we can make do in the mean time. Chris
  8. Interesting how some faces are very unique. Having met you...hmmm...in some ways your face is very much like it was when you were a kid. Wow. Thanks for sharing the pics! Chris
  9. The Enclave is the SUV to end all SUV's as far as I am concerned. LOVE IT! GM is just getting SO much right these days. Chris
  10. I can really see Albert and Drew driving the GT-R to the Pittsburg Symphony right now. Glad you made such a rational suggestion. THANKS, smk. GREAT post. Chris
  11. Two words---Buick Enclave. Like I said, I am a small car/sports car kind of guy and I usually hate crossovers. But the Enclave is a crossover that would make me crossover. Chris
  12. Hopefully traditional 1950's style Customs. I love those, would be worth a trip to Long Island just to see them. Chris
  13. ...and Austrailians do just get it.... Chris
  14. ugh...Z....now THAT's an ugly visual. Haven't seen 68 around in awhile. Chris
  15. Try driving it with your pants around your knees and KORN on the stereo. Your not doing it right...yo. Oh, and put the seatback all the way back to get the ghetto lean, yo. Chris
  16. Actually I had an X car of the Buick flavor and it wasn't bad at all. And my girlfriend at the time (now my wife) drove a Citation. Not great cars...but not bad either. We could have done a lot worse. The early Z cars are amoung my fav. cars...but outside of the dry southwest they all turned to iron oxide quicker than they could turn a corner. Def. not a car for a midwestern winter. Chris
  17. Hey, I'm a small car guy and I love the Equinox. Great looking vehicle, IMHO. An SUV in Pittsburg probably actually makes sense, as you have enough hills, etc... And here in the midwest we do have some nasty winters. Chris
  18. Z I am born here and I agree 100 percent. And what your saying about oil and freedom makes perfect sense. Perfect sense. Exactly whjat I've been preaching since the 1970's. Also, your point about the cost of technology going down over time is dead spot on target! Thanks for posting that! Chris
  19. What a piece of work this guy is. If there is ever a revolution in this country, hopefully he's one of the first ones shot. Chris
  20. Methinks it will be cool when you and Albert can trade that dog in on something better...new Malibu perhaps? Chris
  21. Ouch for MINI. Maybe now they won't bring out the ugly crossman concept. Chris
  22. Not a huge Hyundai fan...but like their stuff MUCH better than Toyota, Suzuki, Nissan, Mitsubishi, et al. They have some appealing products. Glad to see of all of the asian carmakers, Hyundai growing...and Toyota falling.
