  1. I noticed they are going to be futzing with the dash as well. Hopefully they can do something about some of the more garish aspects of the interior's design. Especially on the gray interior where the door panel is all one colour. I read Michael Karesh's review of the Turbo model for TTAC and he said the fit and materials quality was in his estimation maybe best in class. I concur, the dash materials are similar to those found in the Buick Verano which are quite good in their own right. It wouldn't hurt to make the LED taillights standard equipment either as I feel the standard units cheapen the look of the car. Something does need to be done about the backseat though, a fact made very apparent to me when I rented a 2013 Fusion SE w. 2.0L Luxury pack a week after test driving a 2013 Malibu LTZ. Night and day.
  2. Whatever the new 200 is, I hope they continue to offer a drop-top as when it comes to wanting a comfortable 4-place convertible that has good cargo room and isn't a muscle car this is the only American game in town. Always (secretly) liked the top-trim Limited hardtop convertibles, and with the refinements made from Sebring to 200 and the rock bottom prices on the used market I see it as a great value for a second car or a road trip cruiser.
  3. Lob about five to seven grand off the entry price and I would buy one without thinking twice. It's a legitimately cool car. In Canada we do not get any tax credits for purchasing the vehicle so it really does cost like 45 grand here, not the 30 something it does in the States after the tax credits.
  4. I actually really like it. I notice the leather airbag cover, that should be on all Cadillacs from ATS on up.
  5. Dude's got good taste is all I can say. Many of my personal favourites in there- 1947 & 56 Continentals, 51 Studie, 56 Cadillac, 59 Olds, 62 T-Bird, Bustleback Seville, and Retro Thunderbird. This was in the news locally back in the fall, I believe the guy made mid 9-figures flipping his small local oil company to a bigger one. The auction is supposed to be held in June and I'll probably go and take a peek.
  6. ^ and of course the more units they spread the development costs of Voltec over the cheaper they can sell the Chevy models.
  7. http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f13/spotted-2014-impala-s-oshawa-plant-115337/ Spotted outside the Oshawa Plant.
  8. Saw two today. A navy blue Limited model and a day-glo green Rallye.
  9. This C7 seems to be the maximum evolution of the C4 concept, I'm not sure how much further they can take it... I honestly prefer the C6 exterior styling which is cleaner. Maybe the C8 will be a radical departure?
  10. That red Sierra SLE is really nice looking. I think my favorite part of the interior are those meaty toggle switches. Also like the retro nod with the grille of the Z71 Chevy.
  11. I like the interiors, it's nice that they've gone back to more trucky, work oriented look. That only leaves me to assume, of course, that the Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon/XL will have a softer looking dash design.
  12. But will be that 1.6T be as "hot" as Ford's 1.6 Ecoboost?
  13. The old legacy names are probably being renewed to protect them. Crossvolt could be for a Volt crossover concept, Velite could be the Cascada (Wishful thinking?), LTS could be the Caddy flagship.
  14. A lot of people would buy a Cascada in a heartbeat if it was offered here. In terms of more relaxed convertibles you have the 200 (not that great) and the Eos (overpriced and bland). A hardtop variant would be cool too. I'm mostly looking forward to seeing the new 2014 LaCrosse which should clean up/soften some of the front end styling and bring more in line with the Enclave.
  15. They could dish out the back seat like they did on the ATS to make it seem roomier too. They're probably going to do something about that strafe across the dash and the ridiculous plood and trowel applied chrome while they're at it.
  16. I mean different strokes for different folks and all but I only used the CD player in my Impala once- in December 2007 when we first bought it and I listened to the OnStar instructional CD that came with the car. Has not been used once since then and if I were to purchase an ATS or XTS or SRX I wouldn't mind it sitting in the glove compartment.
  17. Judging by how well equipped the LT model is (the 2LT and 1LT are packaged the same except for engines) I can't see anything but the LS being fleeted in any meaningful volume. That will be the model sans-MyLink and some of the other niceties on the LT models, but still standard 18in alloys and whatnot so that model at what it's priced at is probably not the worst looking car or the worst value compared to a Charger or Taurus. That being said it's not something that I would buy- I'd be more looking towards at the top of the range LTZ V6. I'm sure overall sales are probably going to be a little less than half the 2011 numbers, 70k units seems reasonable for this car as I can still see it outselling the Taurus which while sweetened quite significantly for 2013 still does not entirely appeal to me.
  18. I would like to know about ride quality, is it overly harsh? Obviously it will be firmer but what's it like in comparison to a Verano?
  19. I think it's relatively new, haven't been in there myself but I did see it when I was there in September. Googled it and saw they claim to have quite a few cars (250+) but it seems a lot of them are a little pedestrian (late model Mustangs, 1980s Jaguars etc...) It's in that half vacant strip mall on the south side of Indian Bend between Pima and the 101.
  20. Depends what you're interested in. Seeing as your time constraints have to keep you close to Phoenix, one that stands out for me is the Heard Museum - has lots of great Native art and artifacts from the Southwest and is located right on Central Avenue Phoenix, on the LRT line out of downtown. If you had a bit more time and/or a rental car, the drive up the Apache Trail from Apache Junction past Canyon Lake to Tortilla Flat is quite nice as well.
  21. They're starting to pop up all over here. In the last week alone I've seen three or four.
  22. and so dies my dreams of a captive-import Citroen C6 successor lol. I suspect that it doesn't play well now that the home government has gotten involved in the situation.
  23. Missed one... can never remember Powerglide vs. Turboglide
  24. Verano Turbo or 2014 Impala 2LT or LTZ sometime later next year, I'll probably make up my mind once I'm able to see and drive the new Impala and come to terms with the Canadian pricing once its released.
