  1. That's the plan, to get it while I can. I'll just spend the rest of my life driving old stuff after that. I think buying a new $h!box is a crazy waste of money. No way will I ever buy a new car that I don't like!
  2. You did read the rest of my post, right? :AH-HA_wink:
  3. An awful lot of people need to read that last paragraph over and over - until they understand.
  4. Kappa was cobbled-up to make the Solstice happen, a better platform could support the next gen. If that is what is behind this possible development, it might be a good thing. I can see how Solstice could ride on a common platform with the next gen Vette or on Alpha. On the other hand, if this is just another abandonment of interesting cars (read RWD), then I guess my G8 ST could be my last new GM car. Pretty much as simple as that, FWD need not apply - I won't be interested.
  5. I was hoping that you'd chime in on this Balthazar. Just one little clarification of my statement that there was a good bit of commonality in the BOP engines: I was referring to externals (such as the trans bolt-pattern and accessories) not the internals.
  6. I guess I should stay quiet about what I think of these... ... except to say that my '82 Toronado was pretty clean as are most of the ones I ever see around here. In Philly, it's another story.
  7. This AMC could be fun: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-AMC-GR...1QQcmdZViewItem
  8. Your buddies don't know what they are talking about - that Jensen is sharp !
  9. Wow! This thread is making me look at gender as a handicap, how can women see this thing as anything other than ugly and ungainly? I just don't get it.
  10. Ugh, no nav ,please. I hate huge display screens in a dash.
  11. Well, given the choice between a place to store a small item and a useless display, I'll take the storage. Either way its a piddling little detail that doesn't affect my opinion of the G8's basic goodness at all.
  12. Yes, the El Camino celebrates its 50th anniversary next year. However, there was a showcar called El Camino before production began... ... and it was a Cadillac !
  13. I am indifferent to the whole issue, it's just a minor detail.
  14. The HX is brilliant, I hope GM keeps Hummer long enough to bring it to market (in conventional form). An E-flex version would be a nice follow-up. Too bad that neither is likely to happen.
  15. Good stuff! I've actually seen a few of these in person.

    Dream job?

Curator for the GM Heritage Collection.
  17. I have a GM accessories catalog that features a first gen Monte convertible on the cover, so I'd say that they nearly made production.
  18. Absolutely. But GM seems to think we all want those nasty-looking Theta things.
  19. The sad part is that all of these Theta/Theta Premium vehicles replace better looking cars. In the case of the SRX, its a real step backward, they really should have named it something new (or kept it out of Caddy stores). Nothing about it says "premium".
  20. We deserve to have this here, dammit!
  21. Am I missing something here? Seems to me that the school is negligent in allowing a gun to be in the building. The rest is just irrelevent after that.
  22. I think I'm going to be ill.
  23. I've actually see at least a half dozen of these on the road already.
  24. And I'm surprised that anyone likes it. Everything on this platform is just so lumpy and dumpy looking - like a 48-year-old housewife that has let herself go.
