  1. Nonsense. That's just your biased opinion. The SL has always been considered a luxury car.
  2. Instead of a trendy niche model, this could be the opportunity to go back to the Beetle's roots as a cheap 'people's car'.... 'das elektrisch volks wagen'
  3. It's funny, when I was young 20-30 years ago, tats seemed to only be for outlaws, felons and sleazoids. But then they became totally mainstream...I've worked with consultants and IT managers with full sleeve tats... As far as 2018 movies, I realized I haven't seen any new releases this year...mostly just been streaming UK and Scandinavian TV shows...along w/ a few US streaming shows ('Bosch','Goliath', 'Silicon Valley', 'Divorce', 'Barry')...looking forward to the next season of 'Better Call Saul' soon. The last movies I saw in a theatre were last year--'Baby Driver', 'Blade Runner 2049', and 'The Last Jedi'.
  4. Interesting... the stepped decklid area reminds me of the BMW 6 series from about 12 years ago..the roof shape is similar to the Mustang, with a Lexus RC-ish side window treatment. What's up with the deep scoops in the taillight area?
  5. As far as 1960 Mopies, I like how the '60 Chrysler and DeSoto turned out...fins starting in the doors. The Dodges and Plymouths were less attractive IMO....and '61 brought the horrific Plymouth front and weird reverse fin Dodges.
  6. A Ridgeline style pickup based off the GLE or GLS would be interesting for Mercedes, likewise something like that for Jeep off the GC.
  7. Probably partially...but spring/summer is prime sports car season....the gathering clouds of recession may be spooking some buyers, since sports cars are very much a discretionary purchase..
  8. True, but I couldn't care less about the bulk of society, though...;)
  9. I would consider the GC an SUV since it is a RWD/AWD platform rather than a FWD/AWD transverse engine platform like CUVs tend to be.
  10. Funny how the Desoto has a fin on the decklid. (or I wonder if that is a full-length one on the driver's side for comparison). I'm surprised automakers didn't add center fins to decklids or roof fins.
  11. Not always. Some SUVs are on SUV-specific platforms. Like the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee. Neither truck nor car based.
  12. Oddly, Journey sales were up substantially, Caravan sales flat but solid, and they even sold 1 Avenger in June...wow...a new Avenger still on a lot 4 years after it was discontinued.
  13. Chicago style (thick crust) can be good, but that's knife and fork pizza. Once I while I liked the Lou Malnati's pizza near me in Phoenix. IIRC, the pizza I had in Italy (from restaurants in Naples and street carts in Rome, etc) was excellent...
  14. Mixed bag..most volume brands up, some strongly up....some luxury brands sharply down, some up slightly.
  15. Anytime I've had pizza where it's claimed to be 'NY style' I find it way too greasy. I do like thin crust though. I'm not sure if there is such a thing as 'Cleveland style', but I like the local chain Antonios quite a bit..
  16. I have more problems w/ Edge than other browsers on my work websites I do development on. Mostly weird css formatting and Javascript issues.
  17. No problem..just reporting what we see. The joy of software configuration... trying to get websites looking and working consistently on different browsers and mobile is one of my biggest headaches as a developer (though I have UI guys I work with that I defer that to so I can focus on the internals and back end integration).
  18. I'm not blocking ads, and it looks pretty screwed up in terms of white space and formatting. Looks worse on Safari than on Chrome.
  19. I was able to leave a comment on the Mazda sales thread. i've noticed a lot of other wierdness this week, like the 'Unread' and 'Mark Site as Read' links waaaay off to the right (have to scroll to see them) and ads appearing in odd spots.
  20. I don't know, but I'm seeing a lot of weirdness w/ the sales articles. The tables in the Ford and Toyota ones show up in micro font, have to zoom in to read them on a 15 inch monitor. And if I click on the GM one, I get logged out and a blank page.
  21. Funny, the Hyundai Accent was sold in Mexico as a Dodge in the past. The Stinger would definitely fit in with Dodge, even has a Mopar-ish name already. I could see Hyundai being a far more competent owner of Chrysler assets than Fiat has been... could be interesting.
  22. I can't wear contacts, so I wear glasses, have since I was 12. And prescription sunglasses. My current glasses are bifocals, which helps w/ reading though I still take them off when using my phone a lot or reading an e-book or a paper book..
  23. Well, the AWD versions have a driveshaft...and the exhaust runs through there also...
