Badges often correlate to perception of quality and reliability... every brand has it's exceptions, but some have a reputation and image of quality and reliability more than others...

Neither would I..I have no interest in a turbo 4..that's something for subcompacts and compacts, IMO...seems out of place in a 5000lb SUV.

Hyundai News:2019 Hyundai Santa Fe To Begin At $26,480

They said it was replacing the Sport, which is a small midsize I guess. -
Hyundai News:2019 Hyundai Santa Fe To Begin At $26,480

Hard to wrap my head around almost $40k for a mainstream crossover with a 235hp turbo 4. -
Yeah, kind of feels that way.. it's a few inches shorter length wise than the Q5, X3, and GLC. Bigger than the Q3, X1, and GLA. Slightly longer than the MKC. (MKX is XT5 sized).

My sister had to get a colonoscopy and and endoscopy last Friday, had to be on a liquid diet Thursday and drink 64 ounces of Miralax...she'd been through this once before when treated for diverticulitis, and had a recent bout of pneumonia. Felt pretty crappy Thurs and Fri but was normal by Saturday. I probably need to do one, a couple years away from 50 myself (turning 48 tomorrow).

It will be interesting to see how it fares in the market. There is a lot of competition..

Funny thing is a lot of the people working in those non-union plants started by foreign car makers probably voted for him..

There is no 'problem'...it's an SUV, not a muscle car...and they have the SRT and Trackhawk versions for people that want faster.

Having driven GCs since 2000, I'm used to driving and parking a midsize SUV. The times I've driven a full size (Tahoe or Yukon), I found them pretty easy to drive and park. I didn't try parallel parking, but I don't do parallel parking unless it's unavoidable. The '15-16 Tahoes I drove surprised me in how nimble they felt on winding N. Arizona mountain roads. Very comfortable and smooth. A nice comfy place to be when grinding along in gridlock on the 405 or the 10 (been there, done that). Since they sit higher, I have to climb up in rather than slide in and out as I can do w/ the GC. The cargo load floor seemed pretty high also.

With the JGC, 87 is fine w/ the V6 and 8spd, not sure about the Hemi--it may require premium. As far as fuel economy, with the V6 I seem to average about 18mpg mixed use (mostly suburban/city w/ some freeway). I put around 8000 miles on it the first year I had it..(since 2100 of those miles were over a long weekend, it was really only about 6000 miles)..working from home, I'm not driving a lot.

Yeah, I haven't seen any vintage JDM iron around Cleveland other than one R32 Skyline I saw blasting along a freeway last fall. I saw with some regularity JDM cars older than 25 years in Arizona and So Cal over the last decade--several 70s-80s Skylines, a couple '80s Toyota Soarers, a Century, an '80s Chaser, etc. The vintage JDM car culture is much stronger in So Cal and Phoenix, mostly see Detroit iron around here.

Ram News: 2018 Ram 1500 To Continue Into 2019, Add Classic To Name
Robert Hall replied to William Maley's topic in Ram
Instead of 'Classic' maybe call it Ram Heritage, Ram Old Style, or Ram Classico Grande. -
Yeah, I've driven a couple current gen Tahoes and the previous gen Yukon. The current generation drives very nicely--I've had rentals for long weekends driving around AZ and So Cal. They are very comfortable, but like a full size pickup, I don't need anything that big and they wouldn't fit in my garage. The Grand Cherokee is the right size for me.

Yep, that's Murica...people aren't happy if it isn't 3 tons and w/ a V8...:)

It's only the 3rd generation of Century in 50 years, the 1st gen lasted 30 years! Very subtle styling changes over the years. I saw one of the 80s ones in So Cal a few years ago, neat looking cars.

What a pile those things were....Fisher-Price interior plastics, dreadful styling.. As far as M-Bs, I'd drive a GLE or GLS, maybe a CLS. But I wouldn't want to have one out of warranty.

There is something special about wafting along looking out over a big hood at the 3 pointed star. I enjoyed driving my sister's old 500SEL when it wasn't in the shop.

Speaking of those 80s M-bodies, there was a trim level of the Dodge Diplomat that had the topside turn signals like the Filth Ave but with a Dodge gunsight grille. Don't recall what it was called and haven't seen on in ages.

3 different cars, 3 different restaurants, 3 different cities. All Indian or Pakistani curry. Just can't handle the really spicy stuff anymore. ;( I'd like to have something with the plush comfort of that era, very quiet but with all the modern cabin tech and plenty of power.

Yes.. luckily, the places I worked from 2011-2017 I had parking garage parking (underground and above ground) or covered lot parking... but from '09-11 I was stuck parking in a huge asphalt lot during the day.

Yeah, those various older cloth interiors look great...I remember seeing a Cadillac Fleetwood w/ the Talisman interior once. My Dad's '70s and '80s Continentals and Town Cars had cloth interiors IIRC, and they were very nice.

When I was in AZ and didn't have covered parking, my Jeep or the Benzes would get to 145F inside during the afternoon. Sheepskin seat covers, steering wheel cover, dash cover. The chrome inside door handles got really hot..

They help a bit, but if the car is sitting out all day in 118 degree weather, it's still hot inside..

The 9 years I lived in AZ I had only leather interiors...dark gray (WJ GC), cream (DTS), dark blue (500SEL), black (300CE), cream (WK2 GC). But had sheepskin seat covers in most...
