Haven't seen much memorable in the last week. Looking forward to Spring, this winter weather is hanging around too long...33 and flurries today. Saw a gold Chevy Express panel van with the license plate 'I DO HVAC'...clever call out to their occupation, presumably. Also saw a late model silver Subaru Impreza with lot of surface rust on the hood...odd.

I think the one with the bowtie in the center of the blacked out bumper, while the SS, was attempting (and failed) to go for an homage to the big grille 2nd gen RS front end...instead it looks like a '19 Silverado Trail Boss wannabe...

Body color sounds better...or maybe they should embrace the cheese and chrome it up, do a Camaro LTZ trim.

I'm really wondering where Jeep goes with the next gen Grand Cherokee (and hoping they don't screw it up--no transverse 4cyl). And what about the rumored Ram based Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer--will that ever happen?

Fact check: Alfa has always been more of a sporting brand, rather than luxury. Maserati is FCA's luxury brand. And Alfa left the US in the 90s, not the 70s...

Ya, Irish Sea and North Sea...most of my ancestors are from Yorkshire, the Scottish Highlands, and Ireland. Though there are some from Alsace and Vaud as well.

There are 50 state emissions standards now for some aspects of vehicle emissions, right? I've seen that phrase somewhere on documents related to vehicles..

I'm not talking about how consumers compare, but how journos/reviewers and magazines compare vehicles (i.e. sites like this)...comparisons are almost always against other vehicles in the same size category (compact, midsize, fullsize, etc) and class (mainstream, premium, luxury, etc). The competition of a particular model are other models at a similar price point within it's size category and class. As far as how consumers shop, not sure if most of them look at the total price or more at the monthly payment.... As far as measuring vehicles, I do know people that have done that..a buddy of mine wanted a new sedan for his wife and it had to be 185 inches or less, since anything longer wouldn't fit in their garage. (I sort of have that problem--I really couldn't fit anything over 190 in my garage and still be able to walk in front of it and open the hatch and walk behind with the garage door shut). Anyway, back on topic, I wouldn't be surprised if Cadillac adds an XT3 and XT7 over the next few years...

Price is such a variable thing--there is a wide range for each model with overlap--while dimensions are fixed and easy to compare. If you use price only to compare, then you get people comparing an XT4 to a Highlander like smk did...however, comparing price within the reality context (size and class--i.e. compare the XT4 to other compact luxury crossovers) makes sense..

Dan Gurney's Alligator was an interesting approach w/ a low seat. Never really got off the ground though.

As far as how it lines up with the competition, the XT4 dimensions appear to be in the same range as the MKC, Q5, GLC, NX. So solidly in the compact lux niche. So there is room for a smaller XT3 to compete w/ the GLA, Q23, QX30, etc.

I think I need a gyro, pita and hummus, grape leaves, baklava. As far as jokes, most of the ethnic jokes about my ethnicity seem to involve consumption of copious quantities of alcohol.

Dropping it is a bit short-sighted. If gas prices spike and the market shifts to small cars, GM is going to be in caught empty handed.

I've never ridden a motorcycle, but will admit to being bike-curious. My older brother had 3 in his 20s, crashed them all. A Yamaha, Norton and a Truimph. In his 50s, he got back into them--has 5 now--two 70s Yamahas (XS1100s) an 80s Honda something, and a couple 80s Kawasakis.

True. And the tiny opera windows in the Terrain C-pillars are useless. My GC (WK2) has decent outward visibility, the blind spots aren't bad, but the total glass area seems much less than my old WJ GC had.

Sat in the Acacia and Terrain at the local auto show last month. Wasn't impressed with either inside and out. Both had big blind spots in the rear quarters.

Maybe one of my favorite lines ever in a song...that resonates so much with me as I get older. Another line by Mellencamp I also like is 'little pink houses for you and me'---a variation of that was my mantra in my house hunting in 2016, but it was 'little brick suburban houses for you and me'....

I think we will be seeing a lot of new CUVs and SUVs for 2020...new 'Blazer', new Explorer, maybe some new Jeep products..
