  1. Have to think some more..really couldn't come up with five that meet the criteria. There are plenty that are carried over from previous years that I'd own, and maybe some of the upcoming 2019s, but not much for '18 that is really new or facelifted..
  2. Ok...new or facelifted for 2018. Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2dr--open air offroad fun Lincoln Navigator Black Series (silver blue w/ lt blue interior)--luxury cruiser for road trips Buick Regal Tour-X (comfy practical daily driver) Ford Mustang Bullitt--I still like green Mustangs
  3. Huh? The Bolt, ESV and CTS-v are unchanged from 2017. The GC Trackhawk is a new trim level, but the Trailhawk is carried over from 2017. 'New for 2018' I would understand would be new or redesigned models like the Regal Tour-X, Regal Sportback, Navigator, etc... Anyway, I need to put some thought into my own list.
  4. Could be from the mirror universe, like in Star Trek.
  5. Probably the 8 series Gran Coupe or a 9 series. The previous 6 series Gran Coupe was a sharp car.
  6. Neat...so cars with speakers in the back seat like that..was that a 2 speaker set up, with one on top of the dash also?
  7. I sat in the ATS, CTS and CT6 at the auto show this past Saturday, and one thing I remember was one car with a center stack with a glossy black surface and a bunch of little silver tabs w/ no labeling.. I assume the labels for controls only show when lit up w/ the engine running or in accessory mode? I think it was the CTS...
  8. The way I understand the naming scheme for MB CUVs/SUVs is that the GLB is the 'B' as it is the GL to the B-class, like the GLA is the GL to the A-class, GLC is the GL to the C-class, GLE is the GL to the E-class, GLS is the GL to the S-class... And the 'GL' prefix is shorthand for CUV.... (from the German Geländewagen, "cross country vehicle", i.e. the name of the G-wagen aka G-class). Simple and clear, right ?
  9. The dash is pretty consistent with recent Lexus themes, and the gauge pod is reminiscent of designs going back to the original IS/Altezza 20 years ago..
  10. Ok, so this is Lexus' competitor for the BMW X1/X2 and M-B CLA, just another forgettable lease lux appliance...
  11. That pic is of the current E-class interior, looks like. The GLB or whatever it will be called hasn't been unveiled yet, so any pictures purporting to be it are suspect at this point...
  12. The Ioniq does look more like a normal hatchback, it lacks the Prius' distinctive weirdness. One odd detail I noticed on one at the auto show Saturday is the door handles and bright trim around the side windows was a dull silver, rather than shiny chrome, which is different...
  13. At the auto show this weekend, I saw 3 trim levels of the Envision, IIRC the stickers ranged from $39k to $49k...
  14. Spent a few hours wandering around the Cleveland Auto Show yesterday, took a few pics, but mostly enjoyed taking in the new cars...huge crowd being it was a rainy Saturday afternoon. Highlights included the '19 Corvette ZR-1 convertible in orange, a Camaro ZL-1 in blue, the new Navigator in silver blue w/ light blue interior, the Continental in dark blue w/ light blue interior. Many of the Cadillacs were locked, couldn't sit in them...a bummer. The Lexus LC is quite wild looking in person. Really liked the Regal Sportback and Tour-X. Today was nice and sunny, took a drive up the Lake Erie Coast to see lighthouses in Dunkirk, NY and Erie, PA....saw a dark red G8 GXP and a current silver Nissan GT-R in Dunkirk. Drove out to Presque Isle, PA in Erie, beautiful beaches and park. The old Dodge truck was parked in front a winery near the PA-NY state line. Lots of wineries to explore up there.
  15. Almost saw an accident yesterday...going down a major 4 lane street w/ lot of potholes...cop was up ahead, parked in the right lane, lights on, parked behind a car he'd pulled over...partially in the street, partially on the curb...car in front of me dodges a pot hole and almost veers into the cop as he is getting out of his car...
  16. When I was looking at buying a house in Denver back in '05-07, I was looking at 2500 sq ft split levels and ranches, 60s-70s construction on decent sized lots, in the $350-450k range...same houses now are $500-750k.
  17. I know there is a lot of work in NJ/NYC area, I get headhunters pinging me about gigs there all the time.. if I wasn't working out of my house and couldn't find something in CLE/CMH/PITT, I'd consider looking at the East Coast and fly out and back every week (if I could get a high enough rate to offset travel expenses). My sister did that for 15 years from Arizona--traveling all over the country and to the UK...but the life of a road warrior consultant is always intense.
  18. Wow...NJ is notoriously high for taxes, isn't it? Probably higher valuation also. To put it in perspective, the 1200 sq ft house in Phoenix was valued at $320k, my Ohio house at $165k.
  19. Higher in Cuyahoga County...I have a 2700 sq ft house on a quarter acre lot and its a little over $4200/yr..
  20. Don't think I've ever seen a steel house before, though have heard of them. 1240 sq ft might be fine for two people--my Denver condo was 2 bedroom and 1000 sq ft. My sister's 1952 house in AZ was 1200 sq ft, 3 bedroom and was cramped for 2 people w/ dogs and too much stuff (we still had to have 2 storage units), with no garage (2 carports, 3-4 cars). My 1967 house here in the Cleveland 'burbs is a 2700 sq ft split level, 4 bedrooms, finished basement. Size and storage space is good but I'd like more garage space (the 2 car garage is a bit on the small side). Property tax on the Phoenix house was about $4500/yr, about the same has my house here. Property prices in the Cleveland area are lower than Phoenix but taxes seem higher. My family farm in Ohio (150 acres, 1857 house, guest house, barn etc) has taxes about the same...my older brother is always bitching about the taxes (but he only has to pay 1/3 of them--he & my sister and I own the property).
  21. Ok, checked Auto Trader for local/semi-local used cars at $36k or less.... I kept the list realistic and late model, didn't really want older cars to have to deal with (that could be a separate list). I wanted cars recent w/ low miles that I could drive a lot...a Jeep for the practicality and winter use, the Challenger and Chevy SS for fun (picked the SS over a Charger for it's uncommon uniqueness), a CTS for a modern comfy luxury sedan (it and the Jeep would alternate as daily drivers). The last choice was hard--I wanted a sports car, something small and nimble and a convertible. I thought about a Miata (I do like them--they are on my other DCG-MSRP lists), but I've long liked the Boxster, esp. in S form. a modern Porsche in it's simplest and purest form. Great handling for those weekend trips south toward the Ohio River.. Except for the Jeep, these aren't necessarily the colors I would want, but what I could find w/ a quick search on Auto Trader. 1 '15 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 34k miles $34,000 2. '15 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack manual 15k miles $33598 3. '15 Chevy SS manual 34k miles, $30500 4. '16 Cadillac CTS 18k miles, blue $34800 5. '10 Porsche Boxster S manual 31k miles, $34000 '
  22. That's pretty cool..didn't realize Yenko still existed as a company..thought Don Yenko was dead. Only 25 units built. I also didn't realize they still built short bed regular cab Silverados...haven't seen one in years..that is a sharp looking truck...
  23. Good point. Since the article doesn't have the spy photos of the XT4 dash, I wonder is the XT4 dash has different styling cues than current models ( I assume that is the XT5 or another current model in the pic).
  24. Can't let the XT5 have a lesser version of CuE than the XT4...I'd assume they will roll out the new version of the infotainment system with MCEs or NG refreshes across the line quickly.
  25. Looks like this Ferrari has more than enough torque--look at the numbers.. 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds 0-124 mph in 7.6 seconds
