    One thing I've noticed in pics is how short and stubby the rear of the XT4 looks. Hopefully it looks more substantial in person.

    I have a former coworker who has the title Chief Awesome Officer at a major software company. I've never been much into titles, my current one is nominally Java Consultant/Technical Lead. I've been w/ my client in Scottsdale for over 3 1/2 years..at times it's really boring, but there is no overtime, I have a good bill rate and benefits, and I work from home 100%. Can't complain too much.

    An oldie but a goodie: A software engineer, a hardware designer and Bill Gates are driving in car on the freeway. Suddenly the car breaks down, the engine stops. The software engineer says: “I think that car ran out if gas. Let’s walk to the nearest gas station and get some gas, put it in the car and then it will start again.” The hardware designer says: “I think the muffler broke off, let’s fix it and then we can go on. “ Bill Gates says: “I’m not sure what the problem is but let’s close all the windows, and then try restarting.”

    A physicist, an engineer and a programmer were in a car driving over a steep alpine pass when the brakes failed. The car was getting faster and faster, they were struggling to get round the corners and once or twice only the feeble crash barrier saved them from crashing down the side of the mountain. They were sure they were all going to die, when suddenly they spotted an escape lane. They pulled into the escape lane, and came safely to a halt. The physicist said "We need to model the friction in the brake pads and the resultant temperature rise, see if we can work out why they failed". The engineer said "I think I've got a few spanners in the back. I'll take a look and see if I can work out what's wrong". The programmer said "Why don't we get going again and see if it's reproducible?" A guy is standing on the corner of the street smoking one cigarette after another. A lady walking by notices him and says "Hey, don't you know that those things can kill you? I mean, didn't you see the giant warning on the box?!" "That's OK" says the guy, puffing casually "I'm a computer programmer" "So? What's that got to do with anything?" "We don't care about warnings. We only care about errors."

    Not an Infiniti, but an older guy in my Phoenix neighborhood had a Hyundai XG with the license plate KRNBCK--'Korean Buick', I presume...

    That is an odd thought about Buick and Infiniti. I did recall a friend that had a G35 coupe, then a G37 Coupe and now a Q60 coupe. What did he have before the Infinitis? A 90s Buick Regal coupe.

    Ford splits into 3 categories--car, SUV, and truck..that's convenient.

    I tend to think of crossovers or CUVs as being the car -based models, while SUVs are either on dedicated platforms (Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, etc) or on truck-based platforms (Tahoe, Suburban, etc). Maybe as far as reporting sales/categorizing their needs to be a 3rd way--- categorize CUVs & SUVs separately from cars and trucks.

    X1 and X2 are on the Mini FWD transverse engine platform, so they are cars..not remotely trucks or SUVs.

    That just means Audis are more exclusive than high volume M-Bs. Volume isn't the right measurement with luxury cars.

    I saw this posted on another forum--new GMC pickups with '73-87 style step side beds...apparently a dealer somewhere is building them, for shipment to Dubai. Kinda neat..

    This whole volume manufacturing thing seems to be something Tesla is really having difficulty getting right...history is full of startup car companies that have failed for one reason or another. Right off, I can't think of any independent car maker launched in the last half-century that is still around an thriving.

    If pickups can get away with notchback rooflines because of their oversized open trunks, sedans can also.. Maybe the solution is to put trunk lids on pickups and call them sedans. It is funny if you think about it, the most popular trucks of today essentially are high riding full size V8 4dr sedans with big trunks.

    Yes, mechanically simple for the most part. I like the blocky 80s Town Cars, 90-97 ones (there was one trim w/ white leather and blue that I like in particular), the final generation 03+, and the 60s-70s biggies...

    About the only jokes I know are office/IT/software related, so unless you are in the life, you wouldn't get it.

    A used German car out of warranty is a gateway to madness and bankruptcy. My sister learned her lesson with not one but two used Mercedes, and I had enough direct/indirect dealings with those money pits never to consider one again. Now an older Lincoln I wouldn't mind as a weekend toy. But for a daily driver, only something modern and under warranty.

    I wonder why they would do an all new 2.0. What would be the point.

    The picture may be bogus, notice how jagged the seam between the doors is right above the handles. Here is a clear photo of a Model X, don't see any of the trim anomalies. Anyway, the Falcon doors on the Model X seem pointlessly complex; 'suicide' doors are less complex, but still pointless, IMO.

    GM already has a 2.0 turbo 4. Isn't this the same thing already in many GM models ? Odd that it would be 237hp in the XT4, since it is already 250-275 hp in other models. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Ecotec_engine#LTG
