  1. These are definitely evolutionary from the '07 generation, as the '99 was evolutionary from the '88. Ford's revolutionary design was the '97, which definitely wasn't universally accepted...seems like it may have been a misstep considering they went to blocky and bland w/ the '04.
  2. That's pretty much my experience with the iPhone. I recommend it too Except the IPhone is great at passing on Viruses, removing everyone from Outlook calendar events, does not sync with security proticols and for those of us that are not graphically induced to follow a lemming company on what you can and cannot do confusing. Before the Flame mail starts, check out apples web site as they admit with the iPhone 5 they broke security and outlook exchange email. Isilon a company I work for has plenty of apple products and so many peole have gotten things screwed up due to all the bugs in the 5. I suggest holding off till after the new year if you want a iPhone 5 and give them time to fix all the bugs. I've been happy w/ my work iPhone 5...my company does everything w/ gmail and Google docs, no old-school MS stuff...
  3. Not sure they why the are making a big deal about the inlaid doors...trucks had them decades ago...
  4. In general a truck with new styling to reflect that it is a totally new truck vs a new truck that appears more to look like a refresh of the old one. With all the new features it deserved it's own look and not just a rehash of the old one. What if they had redone a totally new Impala and it just looked like the one we have had for years? Not a smart move. Only the 911 and Mini can get away with this kind of styling. Well, it's worked with Ford--the current F150 is a mild restyle of the '04-'08 generation.
  5. The dash isn't bad, not like the hideous mess that the F150 has. But the current truck dash looks much nicer, IMO...
  6. If Mercedes made a pick up truck then the Detroit 3 would be in big trouble, because they would do it so much better. They already build commercial trucks, tough off roaders and German military vehicles, and they have an excellent 3.0 V6 diesel, loads of V8s, and if people think the Raptor is fast, imagine the AMG pickup with a 620 hp V12. Not that I am advocating Mercedes building a pick up, I think they stay focused on sedans, coupes and SUVs. Crawl back to the cave you were hibernating in. Sure MB can build a pick up truck, but then the anemic 2.5L Turbo would cost $45,000 and would have turn signals as optional. Top of the line may have $5,000 for customized amber roof marker lamps, and cost $150,000. And after three years it would be worth $65,000. How about this hellacool Sprinter pickup...
  7. Yeah...I can see now that my local Chevy store will have a line of white ones w/ black and gray front trim...
  8. Are the new full size SUVs coming for '14 also? Will be interesting to see how they look..wonder if they have their own faces like the current generation...
  9. Saw a black ATS rental tonight up close..very sharp. Also saw a red Camaro 1LE in the rain...and a Lincoln Blackwood.
  10. On first impressions of the pictures, I like it...definitely evolutionary from the current model, with some echoes of past models...I like the base grille, reminds of some '80s grilles. The greenhouse on the extended cab reminds me a lot of the previous generation Ram. Not sure about the interior yet...those pods around the vents on the sides seem overwrought. I think I like the current dash designs more...
  11. This information could also be used to send a compliance drone after you... If I were paranoid, I would assume all this data will be gathered and analyzed by DHS, NSA, etc for finding pre-crime scenarios and tracking potential threats. It's inevitable.
  12. What the Hell is it????? That is freakin ugly, a Honda Element on Steriods. The local Chevy store has a row of them in their commercial vehicle area...it's the MV-1 from VPG. http://www.vpgautos.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MV-1 it's the replacement for the badazz Standard Taxi..
  13. Close..the Yugo was based on the Fiat 127...the 126 was rear engined, the 127 front engine/fwd.
  14. Looks like a Fiat 126 that's been cut & shut..I guess the operator entered through the rear hatch..
  15. Normally, I would agree with you, but the models released in this class over the last 24 months have really seemed to shift in the same direction, that is bigger yet lighter and more and fuel efficient in both hybrid and non-hybrid models. ... this goes for everyone except GM, who's car have gained or maintained weight while being reduced in size. (Chrysler doesn't count since they haven't released in this class in the last 24 months) It's also got to be dissapointing for GM as midsize is the class/niche, or at least it used to be, though I think there is movement towards compact becoming the most critical segment for cars..
  16. Looks good...like the roofline..the rear fascia is overwrought, but I assume the details will be toned down for the production...like the interior and wheels.
  17. There a few in downtown Tempe... I've seen Volts plugged into them.
  18. Odd that it would have been restyled in '59, the restyle doesn't fit with regular Cadillac '59 styling at all... too bad they didn't build the original in volume, a 2 seat Cadillac roadster would have been quite a halo car...I can only imagine what a coupe version could have looked like...
  19. Ya, the Scion iQ...at least we don't get Aston Martin version here (yet). Coming home from work one afternoon back in the summer I found myself at a light with a Prius in front of me, an iQ beside me on one side, a Smart diagonally in front, a Mitsu i behind me, and a Leaf on the other side...like being the odd man out in a green car peloton..
  20. Interesting comparing the appearance to the '54 Eldorado...appears sectioned and shorter, with a different windshield shape..
  21. Umm, CDs are digital also, and not crappy compressed mp3s... So the CD slot is in the glovebox? Weak...is it at least a 6 disc changer, or just one disc? Note the satire. At any rate, it still exists in the car so they aren't cheaping out. However, with mp3 players/smart phones becoming more prevalent, and the inclusion of Pandora built into the latest infotainment systems, CDs aren't the standard they once were, just like cassettes before them. I know...I have about 500 CDs from the last 25 years...but I've got everything on my iPod, in iTunes and on Google Play... though I still have about 25 cassette tapes from the '80s that I haven't listened to in ages. The Jeep and DTS have CD/cassette deck combos, my Mustang originally had a cassette deck but I swapped it out for a CD player about 15 years ago.

  23. The original front end looks pretty much the same as a regular production 1954 Cadillac as do the rear fins. I like the modified version except for the quad headlights which make me think of a Checker for some reason...
