  1. Can't really compare hot rodded old cars to new production cars. Apples and oranges. Different realities with no correlation. Hadn't heard that..interesting.
  2. Maybe then sell 'em both and put the money into something newer w/ lower mileage...
  3. Maybe keep both and use one as a parts car for the other?
  4. Still haven't seen a Dart in the wild. My normal commutes don't take me near the closest Dodge dealer, so that's probably part of why I haven't seen one...still in a large metro area like this, I would think there would be some out and about..
  5. What are earth are you going on about? Most buyers of new luxury sedans don't modify them. There is no correlation between the Supra and Model S. Maybe the Supra and the FR-S....
  6. Have you driven one? Read that stats...the Tesla Model S is pretty quick... It is amusing.... I don't get all the hatin'.... it's exciting to see a new American car company emerging, and the Model S is a seriously good looking car, with a wheelbase longer than any current GM car, by the way, and w/ great performance from what I've read. It's nice to see an electric car that isn't a tiny FWD turd (like the Leaf, Mitsu i-Mev, etc).
  7. Besides driving around in rural Ohio on my learner's permit w/ my Dad, I also took a driver's ed class in my high school in S. Florida. The school cars were a couple early 80s Chevys--a Celebrity and an Impala, IIRC. Both tan 4drs.
  8. That's the South American Chevy Montana...called S10 in some markets apparently. FWD, based on the platform of the Chevy Agile.
  9. There was. Lots of things. That is an understatement. The only good model was the 91 Escort GT built by mazda which was a great pocket rocket, but was attacked by the insurance industry. That era of Escort had those awful motorized seat belts, though. The '84 Escort I learned to drive in and drove to school some was a 5dr diesel w/ a 5 speed, and 52 horsepower! It felt faster than the '86 Mustang LX 4cyl I had, which was a 4spd manual w/ only 96 hp...
  10. Tasteless knows no boundaries....how about the dreadful custom CTS-v that the putrid pop music child Justin Bieber had built, w/ rear opening doors and faux-Batmobile trim....
  11. Yeah, that's what it looks like to me...early '60s Chrysler 300 had those, I believe. I've seen them in 1:25th scale..
  12. +2 This is just a tragedy! I can say that this look that baby boomers love will disappear over the next few years and I hope go away for good. Odd..never thought of that a boomer thing, thought it was the previous generation that was into that cheese...the older fogies. Around here it seems to be guys in their late 60s and 70s w/ the DTSes w/ the 'carriage roofs', gold trim, wide whitewalls, etc.
  13. Something horrifying, that can't be unseen... http://l1.yimg.com/b...ramic/cady1.jpg
  14. I had learner's permits when I was 14 and 15, passed my driver's test and got my license at 16. Spent time in the summers practice driving w/ my Dad in '79 Dodge Power Wagon 4x4, '84 Ford Escort diesel, and '84 Lincoln Town Car. Took my road test in the Escort as it was the easiest to parallel park.. Never been a fan of parallel parking, I do it so rarely. With my Jeep I'm either 6-8 inches from the curb or up on the curb....
  15. Following on the C-Max I saw yesterday, today I saw a Chevy Silverado HD with a big decal in the back window that said 'D-Max Mafia'. I wonder when I'll see a 'C-Max Mafia' decal on a C-Max? (googling turns up that 'D-Max Mafia' is a local club or entity for modded diesel GM trucks).
  16. I've seen a few 6 door Ford F350 pickups in the past, of the mid 90s style...IIRC they were built by Centurion who did the Ford Bronco-Burbans.
  17. Saw a gray C-Max this afternoon in a parking lot, first one I've seen.
  18. IIRC there was buzz in a magazine or on the Internet about 15 years ago about a stretched Burban option that would have had the rear-opening extended cab pickup doors behind the regular 4 doors...
  19. I don't how they get registered either, but I've seen a couple around the Phoenix area w/ AZ plates, and a couple w/ Mexico plates...
  20. They need to do 2dr coupe and convertible SUVs....2dr X4s and X6s would be interesting...
  21. Anyone remember the 3000GT? I liked those, esp. the rectractable top Spyder version...haven't seen one in ages....
  22. I saw a black 6 dr Escalade a year ago or so...
  23. I think these conversions were done in the US. Not to be confused with the Mexico-market 2dr Ramcharger from '94 to about 2000 or so...
  24. There was a similar aftermarket conversion of the '93-0? generation of the Ram, called the Power Master, IIRC.
