  1. I wonder what dealers it will be sold at....SRT doesn't have standalone dealers that I know of. It is rather odd that Chrysler uses SRT both as a brand (SRT Viper) and as a trim level (Challenger SRT8, Charger SRT8, etc).. Anyway, it's going to be interesting to see what they do..
  2. Changing times and changing buyers, i guess...I couldn't imagine buying a 4cyl over a 6...
  3. That's a lot of miles.. I wouldn't trust anything w/ over 100k unless I put the miles on it myself.
  4. Never heard of a Chevy or Pontiac that was advertised as a 355, though.
  5. I've stuck w/ Im-PAL-ah, Bon-UH-vill, and Mon-uh-coh, though I've heard Im-PAHL-uh, Bonnie-vill, and Mo-NAH-coh.
  6. NeonLX has it, I think. From the original post--350s from GM's CPOB divisions, 351 and 352 from Ford. Not familiar w/a 353..something from the '50s?
  7. I hope they can stay afloat...the Karma is a thing of beauty.
  8. Wild..sure those aren't daydreams? I have a hard time getting to sleep w/ my insomnia and usually can't remember my dreams, probably due to the strong sleeping pills...
  9. Happy (belated) birthday!
  10. WTF is going on w/ the bed..
  11. I did 6 winters in NE Ohio and 3 in SE Michigan before moving to Colorado in '97....I used snow tires in Ohio, all the way around...1 winter w/ an '84 Ford Escort diesel, 5 with an '86 Mustang LX, and then my first SUV, an '88 Bronco II 4x4 for the Michigan winters..(which usually were milder than Ohio ones).
  12. Saw a Nissan NV in commercial livery (an HVAC maintenance/repair company) on the street for the first time (I saw ones on a Nissan lot months ago).
  13. I am sure he would fit in a CTS or XTS far better than that Buick. Course non of us Shreks really fit into any car, just keep us in our Full Size SUV's. XTS wouldn't be any better..it's just as tiny as the LaCrosse...short wheelbase, narrow.
  14. Whoever can do this on a wide-scale could become rich. I'd love to cut out the middle-man and order a vehicle online, only to see it a couple days later. A flat rate for each trim line, all with the same options could make things less expensive. Yes many Americans would love to skip the dealer experience entirely, but strong franchise laws in each state prevents such a transition. Ideally, buying a car would be more like buying something from Amazon.com, but state legislators need their daily bribe and kickbacks. Yeah, franchise laws are obsolete....might have made sense 100 years ago, but have no place today. I still can't imagine not driving a car before buying...even just sitting in the car, to see if the ergonomics, visibility, etc are agreeable...and the checking out all the controls. But I guess for people buying a generic FWD appliance, it doesn't matter.
  15. I would assume 'high volume' for Lincoln would be fleet/livery, though I don't see the MKT selling to that market as well as the hoary Town Car did...
  16. Yep... FWD 4 cyl automatic 4dr appliances are pretty much all the same, just different colors and different styling details from different brands. Many Genericans would be happy if they could buy/lease their appliance from a website and have it delivered to their door without the hassle of going to a dealer.
  17. That must be a Canadian Pontiac 1000..the US ones had a distinct grille (the one in the pic has a Chevette grille).
  18. Looks like it could be the basis for a LWB 7-passenger XTS wagon.. just add wood grain on the sides and a roof rack.
  19. Neat...I have a radio that I got as a kid in the '70s, it's an early '30s Rolls Royce 2 seat roadster...probably by the same company. Metal body w/ plastic parts. Also have a '63 Cadillac convertible radio I found at a flea market, approx. 1/24th scale, shiny gold plastic.
  20. I remember liking the looks of those and the Electra T Type...it's too bad they never did a 2dr version of the FWD Bonneville using that roofline.
  21. 1988..that was a milestone year for me...i turned 18 that year...had my '87 Mustang GT for my fun car and an '84 Ford Escort diesel as my college car...the only time I had FWD car..a year later, got a used '86 Mustang LX 2.3 to use as the college car as my Dad wanted his Escort back for dinghy use (tow on the back of the Winnebago).
  22. Different niche and different customers...Buick is going after Acura (ILX) and Lexus (CT) shoppers, Caddy is going after BMW and M-B shoppers...
  23. The Cadillac store around the corner has a couple of them. in person it reminds me a Sonata/Avalon mashup in profile...the proportions are very strange...short high nose, short wheelbase, fastback roofline w/ short, high narrow rear makes for an odd look, IMO.
