  1. Time flies...been 7 years since the 3rd gen model came out..it had an MCE a couple years ago.
  2. Interesting...echoes of Hyundai and Ford Fusion in that image..and some Audi A7.
  3. LOL you crack me up, not having to compensate for anything, but the history of life with V6 engines and their so called fuel efficiency is a joke in this country. So far America seems to still make a v8 that lasts compared to v6 or 4 bangers. If your going to get this type of car, then get the real deal I think. This way you know you can easily get 200 to 300K miles out of the engine. The V6 I would only count on for 150K to 200K at best. Plus when you do hit high mileage, a tired v8 can still move an auto nicely compared to a tired v6. You do know this V6 is an all new design that came out about a year ago... can't see why it wouldn't last a long time. I'm surprised, though, they still are using the 5spd auto.
  4. Saw a white '13 Lincoln MKS on the freeway this morning...first I'd seen of the '13s w/ their subtle MCE..
  5. I'd never heard of this, but found it interesting..was reading an article in Muscle Car Review about a '70 B-M Chevelle SS 454 w/a Turbo 400 transmission and Hone-O-Drive...column shift and a special floor lever for the Hone-O-Drive...pic showed a thingy between the transmission and driveshaft...some sort of aftermarket overdrive unit?
  6. Given it's GMDAT origin, it makes sense that it would seem Asian...
  7. Not interested in speculating, would like to see some concrete facts about the Gen V engine...I assume it will debut with the C7 Corvette next year?
  8. Loaded versions of it's competitors (Highlander, Murano, etc) are probably in the same range...
  9. The Accent is just a FWD appliance...nothing fun about that...it's not a dragster, so 0-60 is irrelevant. The Miata's 0-60 is about 7.3, and it's fun quotient is quite high.. I know many of you can't see past the Toyota badge, but this does sound like a fun little car..certainly more interesting than GM's vanilla FWD appliances...
  10. Biggest improvement to the Sonata would be to get rid of the nauseating front end on the Hybrid version.
  11. Got to face the facts, Camino..it's not 1979 anymore (1979 being a year when GM was still majority RWD w/ lots of bodystyles available). GM, like Ford, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, etc is primarily a maker of volume FWD (mostly 4cyl, automatic) appliances..forgettable, disposable appliances that the masses buy. That's the just the way it is...
  12. Since the 1-series is going to FWD w/ the next generation, I suspect the next gen X1 will be AWD/FWD.
  13. Cadillac had night vision, Volvo had blind spot warmings, and various brands had HUDs, but the 3 technologies weren't previously available together in a Lexus GS..thus it is revolutionary for the GS. I guess.
  14. Lots of cool old trucks and buses... I always liked the looks of the 'fishbowl' era and early RTS models...always thought the RTS would have made a nice base for an RV..
  15. Holden is getting the Malibu to replace the Epica, a variation of the NG FWD Impala will probably replace the Commodore. Australian buyers as elsewhere have embraced FWD appliances.
  16. Anyone remember the Tundra 'Killer Heat' ad from the '09 Super Bowl? Just saw it aired on the NASCAR Sprint Cup coverage on Fox...surprising to see a car commercial from over 3 years ago still being aired...
  17. Sweet...haven't seen a clean GP of that era in ages..love the pointy front end. When I was a kid, one of my older brother's best friends had a black '75 w/ red interior.
  18. Cool..don't think I've ever seen a '40s Olds wagon in person.
  19. Makes no sense why they would go to Ford, unless they are too clueless to realize how similar Chevy and GMC trucks are...
  20. I like the rims on it, Great to know they are working it and that Chris found it. I would assume the production ELR will get it's own styling and not just a Cadillac grille and lights on a Volt..
  21. This is the pic of a mule I saw on Autoblog
  22. Beautiful car..that turquoise seems to be a popular Pontiac interior color in the mid '60s.
  23. So would I... but it needs a 4 inch stretch, so I can get in one. +1 I love the car but at 6'6" I cannot fit in! Leave the top down all the time and use an umbrella..
