  1. Still liking my Grand Cherokee after 11+ years and 135k miles. Want to get it to at least 150k. But I may buy a new daily driver in the next 18 months, depending on my work situation and geolocation.
  2. Cool...a true minipickup. I'm surprised Mini hasn't done one yet.
  3. How is the seat adjustment range and the seat controls? Haven't been in a new Jetta, but have driven a couple previous generations and always found the seat controls to be weird...
  4. November is probably not a prime month for convertible sales in most parts of the country...
  5. Neat looking car..nice to see a GM '57 that's not a Chevy..
  6. An El Camino based on the new Malibu. Or a mini El Camino based on the Spark.
  7. Cool...if they execute and price this well, this car sounds like it could be a hit...
  8. Maybe some kind of Corvette experimental engine? Besides the rotaries, didn't they have other experimental Corvette engines in the '60s-70s?
  9. New SL is due for '13 or '14 I've read...
  10. That would require more investment. GM already has the 2.8, 3.0, and 3.6 V6s to reuse..
  11. The eSpark. Or maybe a production version of the Caddy city car concept from last year based on the Spark.
  12. We won't be seeing the Corvette until NAIAS 2013 IIRC. Ah...so it's been pushed out to MY14? I thought it was supposed to be out in MY 13 for the 60th anniversary.
  13. Interesting...no Corvette...maybe they are saving it for New York? As for GMC, don't they usually show off trucks at the Chicago show?
  14. Could also use it automatically send tickets to red light runners..
  15. Bottom line, NHTSA didn't properly dispose of their batteries after their crash test. It's their screw up for not following proper battery disposal technique.
  16. If Hyundai can design and build a DOHC V8 from scratch, then I am sure Cadillac can also. They did it for about 90 years, I'm sure they can do it again. Hyundai is also not coming out of chapter 11 in need to revamp several divisions and with no current V8 design to put into production. At some point the bankruptcy excuse isn't going to be valid anymore.... Engines aren't just an app you can download on your smartphone for a dollar. They take years and years of development work. True, but at some point, we can't just keep using bankruptcy as an excuse for GM always being behind.... as far as the subject of modern OHC V8s, Ford has been building modern OHC V8s for 20 years now...GM tried and gave up (Northstar).
  17. Hmmm...probably some kind of one off prototype in ancient times. Not the ZR-1 engine, because that was built by Mercury Marine IIRC.
  18. Amazing...F-series alone sold more than Ford cars. And SUVs/CUVs outsold cars. Sounds like 2005.

  20. True enough..if a company that was recently known for just vile FWD generics can engineer and build a modern RWD model w/ a DOHC V8, you would think GM certainly could...
  21. Wonder if the production version will be at Detroit...or too soon?
  22. Not so easy to launch a car company.
  23. The base of the A-pillar is obscured on the Allpar pics, but if it's like the Guilietta on which it's based, it should have a normal A-pillar instead of the wierd window within the pillar treatment so many compacts and subcompacts have...
  24. Haynes are British...seen a few for American cars that show the car w/ UK number plates.. never bought one of these manuals as I don't do much work myself, but I did get the shop manual DVD for my Jeep when I had my seat replacement debacle in '09...
